I’ll be honest I love archie but we can get better players imo he didn’t really offer much going forward but was fantastic on the ball and has a very bright future if we want promotion we need players for now if the price is right wouldn’t be the worst business

Connor, I am an Accountant but not in the UK, so not up to date with UK finance laws. However, I think the reason we are / have sold Archie Gray is to comply with current PSR rules. I believe the Red Bull sponsorship money helps from the 2024/25 season and not for 2023/24 just completed. That money virtually guarantees we will not have a problem going forward but does not help this year's accounts. Red Bull will want something for their sponsorship money, and we cannot provide anything for the 2023/24 season as it was completed prior to the Red Bull announcement. Now we are about to enter the 2024/25 season the Red Bull sponsorship kicks in, front of shirt sponsorship and signage around the ground. Further, the link to Red Bull's scouting range, data analysis and intellectual property. It makes sense that Red Bull money is spent over 3 full years or the length of the deal, over full years rather than 2 (or however many full years) and one month. Especially seeing that one month was already at the end of the season with no way of advertising our sponsor's product and Red Bull getting a financial benefit from it. In short, what I am trying to say is, from 2024/25 season, I believe we will be in a strong position, with respect to PSR or its equivalent, even if, God forbid, we fail to be promoted to the Premier League at the end of the upcoming season. It would certainly mean we will lose players to teams in higher division(s) but the price we name will be the one we receive due to the strong financial position the Red Bull sponsorship places us in. If we are promoted, then we are in a position to push forward with confidence. With the mooted changes in PSR, in the Premier League (hopefully trickles down to the EFL also) to a revenue-based model, then we will almost immediately become the 7th or 8th biggest club in the country. There would be some argument with Newcastle fans as to which of us is bigger. Us of course.

This makes perfect sense to me, we need to satisfy PSR so Archie goes to Leipzig. Red Bull funds the sale through Leipzig, that's a big part of the money dealt with. Red Bull can't directly fund Leeds , they have to sell players. The sale of other players should make up the difference then that's PSR satisfied. What's the problem? Archie wasn't getting much play anyway, makes pure financial sense. Football is a business these days, that's how the likes of the 49ers and Red Bull see it.

Archie would be better spending another season at the club he loves and respects,learning his trade by get us into the premiership. Hes also got more chance of regular game time . No brainer!! Dont run before you can walk!!

Not sure if there are rules against this but sell him to comply with P&S with a buy back clause and loan him back to us until we get promoted and then trigger the buy back clause. Obviously would need Leipzig to play ball but would essentially solve our P&S issues so we could keep every player.

At the end of the day no serious bids have come in for any other players. The market is suppressed till the FFP deadline. Archie grey is the price we pay for not going up and adhering to FFP.

If this is about covering psr then it makes sense. We have limited time, hours not weeks and if no substantial offers or real offers have come in for other players, this could be the only deal we could get over the line in the timeframe. Without it we will likely incur a pts deduction for the season ahead which if Leeds are genuinely wanting promotion they cant afford to take. I suspect this is a contrived deal, sell Archie, we have him on loan. We get promoted, we buy him back at basically cost.

Aside from sentiment, selling him now right after a Red Bull investment would signify more than mere football transactions. It would literally contravene Paraag and Niners letter of intent and erode any good rapport between this new regime and the historic fanbase they presume to represent. Toxicity would be justified

If he decides to leave, it is a must that we include future clauses in the deal. He could be worth 100m in the future. Also, do you think a loan-back clause for one season could be a possibility? I can't see this happening this season with Archie but if he has another great season whether we get promoted or not he will definitely go as far as a big sale is concerned I'd be looking at Summerville, Gnonto and Meslier more realistic in my opinion.
