Our text is 1 Corinthians 13.
The modern-day heresy is the thought that, because I have the Holy Spirit, I am on my own an Archimedean point - thereby internalising the Word and subjecting it to my own experience, sense, thoughts and feelings. Creeds and confessions, aimed at maintaining the Archimedean point, are unfortunately rejected and Christians believe that they hold within themselves the ability to judge what is right and wrong when it comes to the Scriptures. The authority of the church and the Biblical pastor is no longer recognised - or recognised with severe distrust.
