So I guess Daybreaker is the album they should have released after Hollow Crown, and The Here and Now is the one they should have released after Holy Hell
the here and now is genuinely one of the best albums i've heard for a long time its a lot softer than hollow crown,ruin,nightmares however they have been interviewed saying that they listen to different artists such as coldplay and listening to artists such as these has impacted their sound but this in no way a boring album just a softer more melodic album but at the same time quite thrashy and punky and i think its great.
I don't understand why people always complain about new stuff, bands want to change, to evolve, not to sound the same during their whole career... musicians grow up, and their sound with them.
I love the song "Hollow Crown". No one ever mentions it. Sam has a really nice singing voice so that's why they're trying to show it in their newer material as well. Yeh, of course Early Grave is brilliant, but you can still hear it through your speakers or if you see them live.

If I had to guess I'd say sam and the rest didnt like the album cos it made them look emo and the songs were based on self sympathy. I think sam also said he missed the more aggressive and fast track atmosphere. still a great album though in my opinion. :)

Their older stuff is very djent/mathcore. For those who aren't sure of the term, it's a heavy sounding palm-muted chord technique. Djent is the onomatopoeia for it. Bands like TesseracT, Periphery & Meshuggah are very "djent" - it was Meshuggah who coined the term & it's now evolving into a very popular subgenre. i wasn't quite sure i was gonna like this record, but a couple of runs in winamp and bang: can't get that crap out of my head... yet another architects album on heavy rotation on all my devices... massive thumbs up for the band and everyone else in the here and now
Sams voice has evolved so much, i personally love this album, i been listening since i heard ruin, hollow crown was then my favorate,now this album has alot of what i personally prefer for this band. unless machine head bring an album out this year, i doubt any band is gonna bring out a better one this year in my oppinion
I have now listen three of their song's and i like it very much's. Lyric's are good and instrument's are very clear and playing is also good. So there is no reason that why, i shouldn't like it this much's. This bring's me mind of the early The Rasmus and H.I.M. in some strange kind of way.
ya I'm kind of missing his long hair as well :/ I asked him "why are you having your hair cut?" after a gig and he said it was because of the hot weather in some countries since they're touring. agh dun be sad mate:) He promised that his hair will come back:)
jesus christ my friend told me about these guys like two years ago but didnt really get around to listening and finally this song came up on shuffle while i was working out yesterday.. two years of my life wasted....
im well into this. they've always needed to cut down on the noisy, dischordant stuff and get some proper good melodies in. which is exactly what they've done, so im happy.
@gre5551 While she sleeps are AMAZING. Can't believe how big they've got! I remember them playing in underground clubs with 100 people in. I remember supporting them at a gig in a barn! And now they're playing with all these big names! Crazy.
Architects have changed their sound on every single album. Regardless of you liking the change or not, we should give them respect for putting effort in doing this, instead of endlessly making the same album over and over again. All things considered, I prefer Ruin and Hollow Crown and I was put off first times I listened to The Here and Now, but it grew on me. It's still an entertaining album.

I love everything Architects has ever put out. Id rather not listen to the same recycled shit over and over again, i love that they have range. thats what makes them my favourite UK band.
