Bravo for your denunciation of artists. In this new century there are thousands of people calling themselves "artists" and many of them are delusional in estimating their personal talent. (Could be that these wannabes had parents who told them that everything they did was "brilliant!") Not all, of course, because there is still good (even great) art today. But I've had the distinct displeasure of viewing too many exhibitions in which one affectation or another is plainly on display. The phenomenon of Art Walks often shows just how vapid the whole experience can be: people milling around in a crowded gallery, trying to find something to divert them temporarily. My request: if you ever go to an art event (an opening possibly) and you see something that moves you because of its inherent beauty or its technical brilliance, take a moment to let the artist(s) know that it was something special to you.

A good point. It should not be so rare when one goes to museum shows to find something that speaks of insight and talent, but when I do, yes express that to the artist.
