The Spirited Man is an unlimited series about the spirited man or woman who lives inside all of us (and fixing things).
ABOUT VAN NEISTAT:
A pioneer in digital filmmaking, Van Neistat made his first internet video, The Holland Tunnel, in 2000. He went on to collaborate with New York City artist Tom Sachs, directing a series of short films shown at the Guggenheim Museum in Berlin. Van has since directed dozens more films for the Tom Sachs Studio. In 2010 HBO aired The Neistat Brothers, an 8-episode series of short videos made entirely by Van and his brother Casey Neistat. Van Neistat’s directorial debut feature, A SPACE PROGRAM, co-written by Tom Sachs, premiered at the 2015 South by Southwest Film Festival and opened in theaters nation-wide in spring, 2016. In 2018 Neistat Directed the short film Paradox Bullets, co-written with Tom Sachs, narrated by Werner Herzog, and starring Ed Rushca. Neistat has written and directed commercial projects for Nike, Hurley, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, J. Crew, Twitter, Sleepy Jones and Frances Valentine. His work has been exhibited in museums throughout the world. He lives in Topanga, California.

And this ladies and gentleman is why filming so much of your life is so FUN and how it can be repurposed and republished at a later date. It doesn't matter if one chooses to share it or not, but those fortunate enough to have footage like this, thousands of hours of RAW real-life footage stock pilled can create stunning films of times passed. And what I personally love is seeing the different stages of camera quality, 720p - 1080p, old cell phone, handy cam's. So so nostalgic. I've been filming and documenting a lot of my life now since around 2013 and I can only imagine what gold I'll be sitting on in 20 years time. If for no other reason then to make an edit of it and take a trip down memory lane :) Great work Van - Always loved your work from what I've seen over the years! :)

I found this channel completely organically. I saw Casey's videos years ago but had forgotten about them. I just wanted to mention it now that I saw Casey's video too. My interest in this page is solely on the content. I am perhaps a "spirited man" myself and a new Yorker once upon a time and even owned a diesel land cruiser, from 2001 and on. And I just rode motorcycles to Baja - road trips are fun. I've done 5k miles in the past month. I built the first website all about diesel land cruisers and conversions. In a lot of ways Van's approach speaks to me. Here I am in salt lake city now, 20 years later with 7 vintage BMWs among other cars and a gorgeous 107 year old house and too many tools and a bit of insanity - I struggle to maintain it all. But I live. And I also like (or love) his RU-vid channel. So smart and creative and a mirror in many ways of my life. Other than way more car, metal, and heavy duty (including welding and refurbishment) focused. Thank you Van. Best of luck to you. Keep on keeping on. And reach out if you need ideas and inspiration. I have tons. I've been called "an idea man" (a backhanded complement) a few too many times, but it explains all the brilliant ideas and too many projects.
