Architecture will never be dead, wether generated with AI or by a human
@Moochers
@Moochers 2 года назад
Really? What about if it's randomly generated based on efficiency. Would you consider that architecture? (I'm genuinely curious btw!)
@MaroArmoni
@MaroArmoni 2 года назад
@@Moochers Yes! Even if it's generated by A.I based on efficiency.....its still architecture. That's the beauty of architecture, it gives anyone or anything (A.I. in this case) the chance to create beautiful unique architectural structures regardless of background or who designed it. Now the safety and stability of those structures are where the designs needed to be checked/verified. I think A.I. is really cool and will keep us on our toes, with tools like these it forces us to grow 📈

Love the response and the attitude! I agree , I think AI will help push us to the next level!

Just finished watching. I agree architects should go hand in hand with AI, learn about it instead of fearing it. Btw the click bait got me Hahaha
@Moochers
@Moochers 2 года назад
haha! At least it wasn't the malicious kind of click bait. I _did_ talk about the death of architecture and some people really do consider this the death of it so.... lol. Thanks for watching!

in the same way BIM has killed a lot of design, AI will make that problem worse instead of truly designing, BIM is language that “creates” the designs for us through its limitations and process

the way i see it, AI will be doing the rough draft of sorts, and then you will have a firm come in and iron out the final details and smooth out the design, or at least some kind of human element for the final design. It's kinda how i see AI working in the art space right now, where some artists are using the AI to help them brainstorm and come up with a rough draft and then build from that. Ultimatly it will be a combination of both AI and Human design i think for the future, but will see. Allot of these artistic fields are going to see allot of change in the coming decade, exciting and scary times.

Yup, I see at that way too. Eventually there will be plugins that start to generate forms from AI (assuming it doesn't exist already).

To be fair, a lot of people probably said the same thing when BIM-tools first became popular. Roles shifted. That being said, my job at the moment has largely been reduced to a BIM-technician where it often feels like producing the model has become the goal in itself, rather than what the model actually represents. I am most concerned about what type of bureaucracy AI will spawn. On a side note, can you do a video about how you work freelance? I have my finger on a resignation email and am thinking about making the jump.

@@Moochers for example now with 3d printers that can print houses there will not be need for workers to build it but they will have now to watch over them in case of any error, and they will have to fix them , we see also in medicine computers that can do diagnosis base on a data and tests , which will make the doctors job faster and easier, and give them a greater range of information.

@@joycequesquen1864 Damn, didn't know about the medicine aplications of ia, I have thought about it but never consider it possible now a days. Also, I guess ia should get implemented in the near future in accounting and engenieering, where parameters and simple calculations could be done by this technology, I wonder how design and art got affected first.

@@joycequesquen1864 That reminds me of a book I read a few years back called Big Data "I think" that talked about how google was able to find the epicenter of certain flu's or diseases based on symptoms searched on google. Data is powerful and having a computer that can sift through all of it is amazing.
@Moochers

@@Fran-rv1wv I think this happens in art and design because there are less boundaries. Artists and designers are always trying to push the limits on their creations where as some of the other fields are afraid of straying too far from their tried and true methods for fear of making mistakes in their work.

I think this good to talk about will robots replace Architects? no….. these models are based on computers searching the web for similar images and compiling them into the rendering. Architecture definitely needs a revival in the way we produce these pieces. However schooling also need a better focus on construction side doesn’t matter what you design if it’s not efficient or effectively clear for contractors
@Moochers
@Moochers 2 года назад
Nailed it. Unfortunately schools focus primarily on design and they sprinkle some theory and structures in there. In the US, to get licensed, you need to pass the ARE 5.0 (6 tests). These tests cover architecture from a more pragmatic viewpoint. I always wondered why school wasn't split half and half between these tests and design. As you mentioned, design without understand how a building is put together is not architecture.

Ig the current artists fear, and i do to, the idea that art will lose, if not all nor most, maybe a little of its human aspect. And as art is believed by many to be an uniquely human endeavor, it feels like something deeply personal is taken from us. But in a more practical frame of view, yeah, it would be more efficient to use ai. But i still don't find the idea appealing.
@Moochers
@Moochers 2 года назад
I don't think that the are, that human touch that you comment about, will ever be lost. I think that as much as we use tools, we will always navigate these tools and at the end of the day, we still set standards for what we find beautiful and there will always be those who will strive to create beauty.

You are totally wrong and have a huge misunderstanding and misconception about Architecture. Architecture is an art with the uses of engineering and technology. It will never die...AI and blah blah will only be a helping hand and supporting staff of real architecture

it was a hyperbolic statement, of course there will always be architecture bc people NEED buildings, but the design process and “meaning” of what is being designed is all but dead already
@ouroborosnagyok9306
@ouroborosnagyok9306 Год назад
imo architecture has been dead for a while, capitalism has been crushing and killing it for decades, the grip the profit-motive has on design is cancerous and directly opposed to the importance of architecture in general: to create spaces of all sorts of programs that add to the lived human experience, that make us feel belonging, that create intimacy and community, that span generations yet still attract people en masse that is basically all gone now, besides the basic mechanical function of a space, the consumer is completely disregarded since design nowadays has nothing to do with creating special places to uplift out communities (and instead is all about profits and cookie-cutter design)
