My problem is the file size, my portfolio is 70MB and has 100 pages... I compress it in Indesign and with additional online compression I can only get it down to 24-30MB... I can't reduce my portfolio down to 5MB to send it via email because most companies give you a file size limit of 5MB :( what can I do ? Do you or someone else here have a useful advice ?
@@dontbearec AHH it would be cool if you made a discord server for people to join and share information and hang out. It will help with your RU-vid channel too. Creating a place for your fans to hang out.
It was in inches, 11x17 which is the most commonly used paper size here. If you are applying for schools there might be specific requirements under their application page.
You talked about exporting as a package at the end, but it was unclear how you were doing it. So I was wondering where the option to export as a package is.
Hi Ryan, sorry about the confusion and thanks for your commenting. You're right, I should have done that in a less vague way😓. To package, simply go to 'File' in the top bar, and you would see the option 'Package', which is a few lines down that 'Export' option. It might ask you to save your file before package it which makes sense, and then similar to export, you would be able to choose pdf qualities and some other export options as well.
Thank you so much for the video! It's incredibly helpful. Question: do you know of good tutorials for layout and/or storytelling in portfolios? (Or could you make one?? :) )
Hi Emily, I would suggest simply using the align text tool together with the rule pulled out, there is not a 'mirror' tool and I just manually aligned the text right and left.
hi, would you be interested in work on a project for me? I am recent architecture diploma graduate. I need a well designed portfolio for my job applications. My expectations are high for the design, but, I don’t have that kind of skills in creating presentation type portfolio
If you go to view-show rulers to turn on the rulers (or 'ctrl + R' as the shortcuts), then simply drag a line from the rulers, using the left mouse button to drag, it would show a cyan grid line :)

As an architect, I can do 2d drawing, 3d modeling, calculate everything, material selection, photoshop, InDesign and they are just paying 1000 dollars for these uberman skills... Bullshit, overrated occupation.
The audio killed me in your video! Both your accent (grig lines! Grig lines. Guy lines... ahhh! It's GriD - D at the end, and GuiDe - don't forget to pronounce the the D) and the sound of your keyboard finished me off. Thought I was at the post office.
