I'm 44 years old. I grew up listening to the old school rock. This song is a mixture of Pink Floyd, The Alan Parsons Project and Supertramp. For a strange reason, it seems to me that this song surpasses many songs of the above...
it sounds out you've been listening to good music bro,the song try again from super tramp is one of the greatest songs ever, keep up listening to cool music, far out man
No matter how many times I listen to this song it always reaches inside my soul, takes me to another planet of surrealism and beauty....sheer out of body experience...
This song reminds me of such happiness and such sadness. In 2001 I traveled to Europe to meet my best friend that I was secretly in love with at university in Glasgow. At the very last moment my beautiful girlfriend that I loved dearly wanted to join us on our adventure as well. We had seperate fights and I had a purposeful 8 hour layover in Paris. I explored the city as much as I could in those 8 hours and showed up at Degaul early for my flight to Glasgow to meet my two girls. I settled in a full airport bar to steady my nerves when I noticed three people trying to find a seat. I offered them to sit with me and they accepted, they were English and happened to be in town shopping for a new record company to sign with. They were Becks the manager and Danny and Darrius from a band I'd never heard of called Archive. We had great fun smoking and drinking and all too soon they had to catch their flight to London. Darrius and I exchanged numbers cause we were going to be in London in a few days. Five minutes later I hear some people calling out my name, I look to the escalators to see the lot coming back down, they missed their flight cause we had been so busy chatting and drinking. The only solution was more drinks and next thing I know the lovely stewardess was waking me up in Glasgow. Durring our drinking session at Degaul Darrius had given me a 14 minute demo that they were shopping around to their new label. That 14 minute demo was just one song which was named Again. Fast forward two weeks later, I'm on a bus to the airport in Edinburgh on a cold rainy day listening to the sad but great song called Again. I was torn between two women I loved immensely . Things in fact came to a head on the east end of London at the Barley Moe while hanging out with Darrius and the boys. We got to hang in the studio across the street and later on at a private after hours party till five in the morning next door to the studio. It was a bloody mess yet so much fun, I will remember it as long as I live and this song and that demo will always remind me. It was a long flight back to Austin Texas...cheers!!!
@@jenniferschauer5759my girlfriend Marla and I eventually parted ways. My beautiful best friend Annaliese and I finally confessed our true feelings to one another. We have been together for 18 yrs and married for 16...happily I might add.
what is better depends on each person... But I like Pink Floyd too if that's what your problem is... So why don't you just sit back and appreciate good music no matter which band produces it...
We are writing the year 2009... a friend for life named Virginie said to me after a night out : "You should listen to this amazing song." The CD started with the song AGAIN by ARCHIVE. A band that had been active for about ten years at the time, but was barely known in the Flemish-speaking part of Belgium... I heard the song for the first time that evening... And it immediately overwhelmed me... What a trip, what a bloodcurdling beautiful song! The whole is built up layer by layer. The music thundered over me in undulating waves. Atmospheric progressive electronic rock that in my opinion is unparalleled. Shortly afterwards I learned how my regular friend Sarah had been in a hidden relationship with another man for some time... In a period of extreme despair, sadness and at the same time impotently furious I tried to win her back for me. The song AGAIN formed the foundation for my struggle. My feelings were shared with her thanks to this song. The song became an emotional rollercoaster for both of us. The music and the lyrics couldn't be more appropriate. Thanks to the song we found love for each other again. 13 years later we are now a happy family. And the music of Archive has never left us. And not a single tour was missed. The entire oeuvre of Archive is part of life for my partner, myself and my nine-year-old son. I know, it's quit impossible, but I hope they will add another 20 years to their career... Unbelievable how they always succeed in experimenting with music. The composers are masterminds in creating music that guarantees a unique universe that leaves mainstream trends far behind.
This song is so incredible! Every part of it! I'm 53 years old and I was introduced to this song, (by my 25 yr old son), last year. Its 3 days before January of 2022. It was s0omewhere around this date last year. I had forgotten all about it, a min ago. This tune won't be forgotten again. Thats for certain. Blissful on good headphones!
Last night I was at a bar listening to this song ... the full version ... with my twin brother and two very special friends .. all emotional and vulnerable
Very Pink Floyd. I just listened to this song when coming to work a couple of hours ago. It was still dark and streets were empty. Now I'm in love with it.
It's January 2021, I just discovered this song. And it's one of the greatest tunes I have ever heard, will compare this with Pink Floyd, Tool, Porcupine Tree, Opeth-, King Crimson. ❤️❤️
Classic Rock ima budučnost..Ja sam fan 70-80 godina..Yes,Genesis,Pink Floyd,van der graaf generator,King Crimson...ipak i ovo je dobro..Ja sam djeda rock& roll-a ali mogu i ovo slušati..Angie Belgium from Bosnia..
I listened to this album when I met my husband in 2006. After we met I never listened to it again until now. I thought I never be sad again after meeting him. We recorded 3 albums together and as I hear now I was pretty much influenced by this music. We divorced few years ago and now my new and last love is tearing me apart again. These lines came into my mind and I’m listening to it again and again for the first time in 15 years. When will I stop feeling this again. Could I laugh again.
You're tearing me apart Crushing me inside You used to lift me up Now you get me down If I was to walk away From you, my love Could I laugh again? If I walk away from you And leave my love Could I laugh again? Again, again... You're killing me again Am I still in your head? You used to light me up Now you shove me down If I was to walk away From you, my love Could I laugh again? If I walk away from you And leave my love Could I laugh again? I'm losing you again Lacking me inside I used to lift you up Now I get you down Without your love You're tearing me apart With you close by You're crushing me inside Without your love You're tearing me apart Without your love I'm doused in madness I can't lose the sadness Can't lose the sadness Can't lose the sadness You're tearing me apart Crushing me inside Without your love (You used to lift me up) You're crushing me inside (Now you get me down) With you close by I'm doused in madness Can't lose the sadness It's ripping me apart It's tearing me apart It's tearing me apart I don't know how It's ripping me apart It's tearing me apart It's tearing me apart I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why I don't know why Without your love Without your love Without your love Without your love It's tearing me apart
For me, one of the best Archive's song .... the music, the words and ... this fucking harmonica, just in time, just in the right place and the right notes! It makes me cry every time 'cause it makes me think of my lost love ... and I love to cry with this tune!
Rage Against the Machine.
Whenever I'm in a dark mood i throw on this song and while it usually amplifies the bad mood I feel better afterwards because I know this is the way it's meant to be.
I heard this on RTE Irish special station, play Jazz, Opera, Classical I heard this tonite first time, KICKS ASS!! video, lyrics, instruments, magical! Beam me up Scotty! No drugs necessary 💋💋💞💗💞
This song will always take me to the most beautiful moments in my life. I never believed that you can love someone for all your life even if saw the person just few times over the last 20 years. Love is everything...
I'd really like to see the list that you're talking about... "Arriving somewhere but not here" by porcupine tree would be my entry on that list.. if you're reading this add a song that you love like that..
U r absolutely right, Good Man. Unfortunately, Archive, they r no good. But This One is a Masterpiece. Do not know how they were able to produce This...and then a lot of useless songs. Quite strange.
@@smitsolanki7535 Porcupine Tree is such a great band & that is a great song. A top 10 greatest list would take some serious thinking but wirhout a doubt mine would include This Mortal Coil's "Acid, Bitter and Sad" and "Be Comfortable, Creature" by Explosions in the Sky
I do not know how I missed this song when it was released. A wonderful and soulful song. Long version is just mind blowing, one can keep listening to it again and again. It takes you to a another world and you just don't want to come out of it.
I've grown up in Greece with Pink Floyd, Manfred Mann's Earth band, Tangerine Dream, Cream, Fish, Camel etc, etc. However, I came across with a gentleman, 8 years back in Melbourne, and was and still is onto Progressive and Psychedelic Rock, and he goes to me take this USB foul on the above and more. Pay attention to Again song he says! I'm taping while I'm listening to it and still my eyes running 😢😢. Was that time got seperated..... simply a Master piece! My daughter loves it sense 16 years old. A brilliant madness, despair, and agony.... again and again 😓😓😓 I don't know why.....I don't know why!
I know this song in and out, have listened to it well over a hundred times, but still this songs gives me the feels whenever I play it. this is how you recognize a work of art.
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard (melody and lyrics). In this amazing long version the part from 11:00 to 11:35 sounds to me like being in an intensive care unit. A sound which is in harmony with these lyrics. A sound which is in harmony with both sides: with the person who abandons and, in the same time, the person who is abandoned. Because both of them are defeated.
I keep coming back to this. I think its going to be a favourite life time song. It has everything that I appreciate about what music can do. It has harmony , pathos, atmosphere and it lasts long enough and has so much light and shade I think it really would help to move you on from that desperate bitter sweet feeling most of us have experinced---exquisite pain, the one that makes you know you are truly alive.
Oh my God!!!! I cannot believe how amazing this song is. RU-vid creates playlist for us and I have to say they did a really freaking awesome job this song blows me away and I love that harmonica and just all the music and everything about it it gives me goosebumps & I'm in love with it... I can only imagine wearing a good set of earphones and really listening to this!
When I first heard this song, it came up in an internet radio playlist while I was riding my bicycle on a long track with almost no people at all anywhere. You can imagine the speed.
I really love this long version, I get to sleep before the end of it, whitch is good because I have a hard time sleeping. wonderfull mixing of sounds and voices.
SisterBroom why the dislike on my comment , I don't understand why , if you would please explain . im not mad , I only want to know , if you please , your reason behind your dislike. thank you.
Οne of the best songs i have ever heard, although it's so melancholic,it makes you feel nostalgic about things you no longer have, and reminds you how much value this stuff had for you,i'll never get bored of this masterpiece.Congratulations from Greece..
OMG... 59... and this literally reached in and touched my very soul... Expresses feelings that I have that I cannot ever pursue or hope to have... EVER. But this song... Holy Shit... wow... I have more, but the odds are not able to express fully what this made me feel. :( Loved this... LOVED THIS.
