In this GIS tutorial using ArcGIS Pro, I will show you how you can be more efficient when creating new projects.
One frustrating thing about ArcGIS Pro vs ArcMap is that geodatabase and folder connections don't carry over from project to project. In this video I show you two ways you can make sure you start all of your new projects with your geodatabase and folder connections intact.

It's crazy how many tools are right there but it's easy to be blind of them due to past workflows. I knew about this one but I didn't know about the content filter, which I've been using since you made the video on that.

I just need to right click everything and try every option ha ha. Embarrassed that I spotted it after I was done shooting. Not embarrassed enough to reshoot it though. 🤣 I hope to surprise with with more nuggets of helpfulness in the future. Thanks for commenting.

I just found out I could make a folder with all of my layer files as favorites too!! That collection contains most of the layers I use everyday and they connect to web service, local data and from internal network. Spend 5 min every few days to watch your video really inspiring me!!

@@GISChops is there any way you can go over a time distance analysis product in pro? I would greatly benefit from that: army things...
@GISChops

I don’t have access to the network analyst extension. Esri has a bunch of helpful tutorials for that type of analysis.

@GIS Chops I figured it out if anyone is curious... it's a long process, so bear with me. Time is the cost of distance. To get an analysis of 1 hour of travel, x will be the speed and distance measured in km. The first step is to get all the data you'll be using: in my case, the data I cross referenced was elevation data, land cover data, and vector road data. The big thing to note is that the lowest resolution raster used must be the cell size of all raster data by the end. I would also recommend creating an ao to clip it to. Vectors first, add 2 float fields to the attribute table; one will be the speed_cost, and the other will be the speed cost per meter (name at your discretion). In the speed_cost attribute, select the attributes by type and classify major roads with a cost of 1. Everything else that may be more difficult might need to be a lower value (or higher on major freeways depending on your base speed in which your analysis is conducted). The next field, field calculator the equation: x*speed_cost (only after all values have been assessed for the cost). Then you must use feature to raster, ensuring it is the same cell size as your lowest resolution raster data. Call it whatever you'd like but this is the road kph. Create a mask for it by classifying it with equal intervals and only one class, change no data to 1 and 1 to no data. That's the road mask. Ensure it is in the same protection as all the raster data you'll use. If your cell size is to big, you'll not see the roads cut out of the mask and you'll need to do it again. I'll go over the rest later. It is a long process. I want to thank you for your videos, GIS Chops. They sent me out here with a broken instance of arcmap and a working copy of pro. With your help, I transitioned from arc map to pro in just 3 days and made my first time distance analysis product for use in an exercise.

You would need to open the Create Features pane from the edit tab. That will let you create features in any editable layers in your map.
