Hey guys I hope y’all are enjoying these jacket battles. Also I am experimenting with no background music in this video. Let me know if you prefer it with low background music or without.

I thought that the music volume of your previous video was fine. Here’s a suggestion: play low volume instrumental music in the background.

Great work. Suggestion for your next few videos: perhaps you can go up and down a weight/durability category. 1. MH Ghost Whisperer vs Cerium SL vs micro puff 2. OR Helium Down vs Thorium AR vs Sweater Down

I can attest that on #2 the Thorium AR is the best for winter. The Down Sweater is more versatile in terms of temperature and occasions (work and outdoor). I don’t like the OR fit, as I prefer trim fit. Also, the OR is more focused on outside use, not so good for urban use. Just my $0.02.

This is some good content vs video. I’ve been hunting for a good mid layer for this year and I’m leaning into the Cerium LT/SL and the Atom LT. Might pull the trigger on the Cerium LT after this comparison. Keep up the very good comparisons.

Great review and comparison. I think opening music is AOK but I agree, music during the review is very distracting and would detract from your message. I ordered the Arc’teryx Cerium Lt after watching your video. I think you were very fair, objective and thorough and very helpful for those reasons. I should get my new jacket in the next several days and might come back to say how I like it.

I just picked up a Cerium LT for use as a midlayer for my skiing setup. I was hoping I could use it around town a bit since it's such a nice looking jacket. There's no way I could wear this around town. It's way too hot for that.

@@andy.m7274 it's great if you're out for a walk, but if you are going out of the house and into a car, it just doesn't work. Hi. Very good review! I really like Arcteryx's jackets! I have an Atom LT, Atom AR, and a Beta SV shell. It's clothes are more for my hiking, fat bike etc. I wanted to buy myself the Cerium LT for my more urban rides, go to work, and to have comfort. I saw the Rab Microlight Alpine at 30% off, so I bought it. Yes, the quality of down is lower, it's 700, but it'ss recycled and hydrophobic. The jacket is heavier than the Cerium LT, but it's still light and you don't really feel it. I prefer its stylized look, and I love its hood with the little visor that fits perfectly on the head. Have you tried the Rab Microlight? If so, how do you compare it to the Cerium LT?

I would test/try on both jackets. Dont let a youtube video made this decision for you. The Cerium Jacket has a awkward trim fit for an Acteryx. The Down Sweater is normally a lot cheaper compared to the Arcteryx. (I got my down sweater jacket on sale for around 120 AUD back in the days). The other advantage of the Down Sweater is the regular fit allows for a extra midlayer/fleece/sweatshirt. The regular fit is also better for an allround look in town..

Unfortunately, these down products require the death of an animal. Companies could claim the down was responsibly harvested and they look after the welfare of animals all they want, but the geese are ultimately used as a product.
