Arctic Cat Key Switch to Tether Wiring for Snowmobile 

Glad to help...I can just see guys out on the trail @ 11pm watching this video or one of my other ones on their phone trying ot figure out how to bypass their key, kill, tether, wiring harness ect...trying to get their sled home. Knowing how to use a jumper wire on the 1993-1997 or which connectors to just unplug on the 1998-2002 could really save someone's weekend or at least get them back to the trailer.

Cats 1998 and newer are open loop and you just unplug the stator to wiring harness plug and it bypasses all wiring in the sled. 1997 and older sleds are closed loop and you unplug the stator to wiring harness plug and use a jumper wire on the 2 non-yellow wires on the stator plug.

Could this be done on a 1999 ZR 600 EFI? I have ordered a teather for normally open system and want to bypass TSS, Key and switch.

thanks, i will install the tether kill switch bought for my wife´s Arctic Cat ZL600 from 2000 / 2001 now. i will place it with the key so key still works. i kind of want to remove the kill -switch button on the stearing / handelbar. cuz that buttons is "soggy" AF atm. do the kill-switch button work in the same way at the tether? meaning it has closed circuit then running? or is that one the other way around? running then open?

yep...but your system is based on an open circuit..so make sure you get the right tether for it. Most of the tethers made today are for an open system. Cat went to the open system in 1998. Pre-1998 they are a closed loop system.

Unfortunately I don't have access to my sled its about 6 hours away at my brothers its an 97 Artic Cat 570 Powder King just wondering my kill switch on my bars doesn't work which is not the end of the world but now the one on my dash is going how to you get access to this. Is it visible from the engine compartment? I will be replacing this switch in -30 celsius temps so I wont want to be spending hours doing the repair.

So with a 99 ZRT open loop system I cant do anything to shut my engine down besides choking it til it dies. Theres no way once the wiring harness is unplugged to shut off spark at all???

Which 2 wires go to the ignition good dam is it hard to explain it a little more in depth
