Thats pretty cool how that hood comes off that's a good choice on those connectors

Hey Will, Yeah I agree. When I first started @RichOutdoors T-cat the week before I started mine I was reading the instruction and thought they could be so much better and there’s more steps than actually needed. If you purchase the actual Arctic Cat Garmin Tread kit it comes standard with the factory 2 connection plug that plugs right into the GPS plug. The only connections you will need to add are the two 3/16 & 1/4” connectors for the splitter wiring. The video will definitely make it easier for you. The large bright colored screen on the Tread is amazing. 👍🏼 Any question let me know. Take Care

Hi First off, thanks so much for posting videos on installs for your T-CAT. They are well made videos with great sound and views of what's going on! Really appreciate it! I recently picked up a new Sidewinder LTX LE with the 137 track and EPS...basically the T-CAT. I followed this video and installed the Garmin and the Mount as you had. The issue I've had is that ever since, my battery dies after a few days and I'm wondering if you may have some advice for me? Anything you could offer would be much appreciated!! Jim from Ottawa
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow 10 месяцев назад
Hey Jim, Thanks for stopping by the channel to check out the videos. It’s greatly appreciated… First… Congrats on the new Sidewinder. They’re an awesome sled for sure.. Secondly, Do you leave the GPS mounted to the sled all the time? (Which shouldn’t matter but) If so just try removing the Garmin from the sled and see if the battery is still going dead. If it is then there’s a separate issue that needs to be sorted out even though it’s new. I personally don’t leave the GPS on the sled even when it’s sitting in the garage. I always bring the Garmin inside and keep it in a case I got from Amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078LYG1PJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 With the Garmin not on the sled it should rule out the new install you did for the mount.. Just my .02 cents I have some more videos coming this fall for the T-cat/Sidewinders so stay tuned. 👍🏼 Take Care

@SometimeIsNow Thanks Greg, I charged the battery and removed the Tread. I'll monitor the situation but I did read similar comments about removing when not using. There is snow all over the ground about 7 hours north of Ottawa. If you ever want to check out northern Quebec, let me know! Awesome riding from Quebec City through to Gaspe. A must trip for the bucket list. Take care and thanks again.

Hey Greg how do you like the T-Cat compared to the 900T? Ride wise and working on them? Was thinking of getting a winder but everything I’ve seen they look like a pain to work on , engine /drive line compared to a Doo.
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow Год назад
The T-cat has many plus’s compared to my 900T and the #1 things that stick are the Power Steering, heated seat and the crazy power out of that Yamaha 998 engine is “WOW”. Both are simply amazing. IMO all 4 stroke sleds should have EPS offered as a option for the added weight you get with the heavier 4 stroke motor. As far as ride quality the Cat rides a little stiff for my liking but in the Cats defense, my 900T rode stiff also being a XRS. I added the dual rate spring kit from Accelerated Technologies and now the Doo rides outstanding. I’m hoping I’ll have the same ride quality this season with the full adjustability from the Elka Stage 5 shocks I have installed on the T-cat. I can say IMO the Cat corners flatter and you don’t have to transfer your weight as much to keep the sled flat. The ease of working on the Doo compared to the Cat is much different. I have some videos coming out soon that shows I dug in and pulled the cover off the chain case to replace the steel idler roller. It’s known that it could fail due to the two screws loosening up so I added a product from Precision EFI to take care of that possible issue. I’ll be doing a oil/filter change video also so we’ll see how that compares to the Doo. If you told me today I could only keep one sled between the T-cat and the 900T I will chose the T-cat. I’m really liking that sled. Stay tuned. I have some great videos coming out this fall. Cheers

Completely new to snowmobiling. Never been on one but bought a couple older skidoos and was wondering how the gps works on a sled do they announce turn by turn direction if Bluetooth connected and do you purchase the maps on a dd card and put it into the gps unit or is there a website to download it directly to the gps unit. My biggest fear is to get lost or not having the right maps
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow 10 месяцев назад
Hey Pat, Thanks for stopping by the channel and Welcome to the world of snowmobiling. 👍🏼 To answer a few of your questions, yes you can do turn my turn in the GPS if you load what trip you want to take before you head out for your ride. My buddies from Sledaddicz has a video on the procedure if you’re interested. Here’s the link to that video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TRL0fwv39f8.html As for purchasing maps, I purchase mine for NY and Maine from GPS Trailmasters. www.gpstrailmasters.com They offer many states including Quebec, but not Ontario. If you have any other questions I’ll try to answer them. Take Care 👍🏼

Hello Greg, I just picked up my 2023 8000 yesterday with a dealer installed Tread GPS, when I shut the sled off the GPS shuts down even if I leave the key turned on; I'm wondering what could you have done different since your GPS stays on with the key on. I started to dig into it last night and was planning on running a hot circuit from the battery to the accessory outlet like I have on all my other Cat's (my most recent being a 17 and an 18 2S),. I think I just might have figured it out, your sled is a 4S and if I recall correctly with the key on and kill the switch off on my 12 Turbo that scenario kept things energized, is that the case with your 22 T-Cat?
@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow Год назад
Hey Vince, Thanks for stopping by to check out the install. Quick question, Is your Garmin Tread fully charged? I honestly can’t remember if mine stays on when I turn the key off without tapping the screen when it asks if I want to leave the GPS on which will run off the battery of the Garmin. That’s how my Garmin Montana use to be. Now you have me wondering and I’ll have to go out in the garage and check.😂 I’ll get back to you.. 👍🏼

@@SometimeIsNow I just checked and it is not charged. I usually do this stuff myself, but in this case the dealer took care of it so I have nothing as far as an install and use manual ☹

@SometimeIsNow
@SometimeIsNow Год назад
Hey Jeff, I don’t see why it wouldn’t. The Sidewinder and the T-cat are the same bodywork. The only issue I could see is depending on what windshield you have on your Sidewinder. The Stock T-Cat windshield wouldn’t work with the GPS mount as the GPS would hit it. Luckily I run the larger Mid shield so there wasn’t an issue for me. Take Care 🤙🏼
