So fucking underated! In a lot of their songs like Are you mine or knee socks you can hear him singing the chorus, while drumming (like a beast) which takes a lot of coordination, I love Matt so much- he's humble while having loads of talent!
Don´t get me wrong, they´re still one of my really favorite bands and i do in fact listen to the AM, they´re great musicians but i don´t think it is as instrumentally rich as.. lets say Humbug or the other albums.. i´ve seen them live 3 times in the past 2 years and you know.. man they just sound different, songs are slower, the bass is almost muted.. but anyways, it happens a lot with bands that grow up.
+Andrew Cruz Dave Grohl is his biggest inspiration. matt and alex actually taught themselves how to play their instruments by working out the Queens of the Stone Age album "Songs for the Deaf" songs. And John Bonham is an inspiration to every drummer whether they realize it or not. But he's like at the bottom of the totem pole compared to Bonham my friend haha.
Fauziah Rizka Amalia this was in 2006 and fricking cellphones wasnt that popular yet? nowadays people at concerts with fricking cellphones in sight everywhere bcs they want to record and keep it as a memory. like obviously. whats up with u and fricking cellphones in sight at a concert lol
Idon't have a problem with those people though, I also admit that I was also one of them but eventually it just bugs me as I can't see anything but cellphones at concerts. At that time, cellphones, cameras, you name it -- it's true that back then they're not as popular as they are now, I just think that nowadays people are more focusing on the recording rather than the ambience of the concert itself. But then it's their choice
Nur Yesti Aqeesha people don't film the birth of their child, but they remember it as one of the happiest days in their lives. When you film something it's just 2D, you might aswell not go to the concert and watch it on RU-vid. However your mind can do so much more, you remember how you felt, the excitement, the atmosphere. Little things like how it smelt and how the ground shook as the crowd bounced up and down. If you close your eyes and think really hard you can put yourself back their and relive it all. Cameras are great and all but nothing will ever replace the human brain
Pr Music lol what??? people do film the birth of their child. not everybody but a lot of people do, just like not everybody records but a lot of people do to watch over and reminisce the memory.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GGQQ-XvZvjA.html&ab_channel=Rejd my favourite at pinkpop 07. only rendition you'll hear the bridge played this way @ 29:44
@@break5033 Haha le wrong generation eh? Beyonce pre-dates the Arctic Monkeys, and their first album is by far their biggest selling album. So if anything, they are less mainstream now?
this is the best period for Alex Turner, I remember listening to them then, hearing them cover Reptilia and they rocked so hard in the mid-late 00's. Picking up where The Libertines left off
Yes best band momento he was an easy going guy living enjoying life dnot thinking been rich before thant u knowww. It doesn't need to be a Sherlock Holmes to look little differences
@@humguillen8267 he’s still the same old Alex man. Every encounter people have had with him say he’s still shy and really nice. His stage persona doesn’t define who he is
After almost 50 years in love with R&R I need to say this live version is the almost perfect combination of drums, bass and guitar "solos" I ever seen.
They all had so much energy back then and I personally preferred their appearance. Also this song highlights why Helders is a fucking savage on the drums.
I understand those folks who say "arctic monkeys it's just noise" or some shit like that. That's what seemed to me the first time i listened 'em... But god...if only they lend attention to instrumental ... god, it's amazing how each instrument fits perfectly with the other. It is obvious that there are no words for the gift of alex, or should I call him two: Write in a unique way and his voice ... I'm in love with this band
That's people who apparently have no natural gift of ear to music. Even if not, that's crazy!! NOISE??LMAO THEM SAYING THAT IS NOISE. IM 50. THEY ARE MY NUMBER ONE. IF THE BOOZE DONT WORK AND THE BILLS UNPAID AND MY LIFES ARRAY OR HELL A HAPPY DAY. THIS MUSIC. COULD ALONE LIFT THE SPIRITS OF A SOUL RIGHT UP OUTTA A WHEELCHAIR AND DANCE!! FOR REAL FOR ME I KNOW I LOVE MY PINK FLOYD AND SUCH. BUT THESE MEN THERE WHATS THE CATS MEOW! INFINITY!!
Seriously people still argue about the band's appearance? In my opinion, some fans have the ability to grow up with the members of the band, others aren't able, unfortunately. Okay, maybe Arctic Monkeys aren't the same for you, but for me and a LOT of people in the world, they are. The tendency is always to improve, not worsen. I'm just saying it 'cause I see some people saying that "AM" isn't a worthy album, etc. bullshit. I love the new and the old Arctic Monkeys, I love the new and old songs. The old videos are here for everyone. "The new Arctic Monkeys" are here to continue living. I fuckin' love these guys since 2007.
***** And you say it based on what? what kind of bad experience you had with them? honestly, they're the same guys ever. I met them offstage, they're friendly and gave attention to all the fans who were around there. The problem is their behavior? it's the change of style? Anyway, none of the options are valid. About behavior, I have already given my opinion based on real events with them and about changes on music, well .. one of the things I love about Arctic Monkeys is: they were never the same, every new album, something is different. Change is often necessary for bands, just let's face it, every band undergoes evolution. Personally, I don't mind the change. Anyway, it's my opinion, and I love Arctic Monkeys.
***** Ok, it's your opinion. but please keep common sense on and don't say "AM" is a bad album 'cause it isn't and most fans agree with me. Imagine if they were still using the exact same style that they had in earlier albums. Sure, that might be what you'd prefer, but the complaints would come rolling in eventually. My top favorite Monkeys songs still remain amongst their older albums, but that doesn't mean I despise their new stuff, I grew up with them also in this sense. Arctic Monkeys will surprise everyone in next album and I have no doubt about it. Sure will be successful too.
💜 A certain romance.. Well oh they might wear classic Reeboks Or knackered Converse Or tracky bottoms tucked in socks But all of that's what the point is not The point's that there isn't no romance around there And there's the truth that they can't see They'd surely like to throw a punch at me And if you could only see them, then you would agree Agree that there isn't no romance around there You know Oh it's a funny thing you know We'll tell them if you like We'll tell them all tonight They'll never listen Cause their minds are made up And course it's all okay to carry on that way Over there there's broken bones There's only music, so that there's new ringtones And it doesn't take no Sherlock Holmes To see it's a little different around here Don't get me wrong though there's boys in bands And kids who like to scrap with pool cues in their hands And just cause he's had a couple of cans He thinks it's alright to act like a dickhead Don't you know it's a funny thing you know We'll tell them if you like We'll tell them all tonight They'll never listen Cause their minds are made up And course it's all okay to carry on that way But I said "no", oh no Well, you won't get me to go Not anywhere, not anywhere No, I won't go, no, no, no Well over there there's friends of mine What can I say, I've known them for a long long time And they might overstep the line But you just cannot get angry in the same way
E assim sigo curtindo essa banda, tenho a mesma idade deles e segurei ouvindo. só sinto falta dos fãs da daquela época 2006/07, onde estão? Só vejo adolescentes hoje em dia talvez por causa do album AM. kkkkk.
Just the drummer giving props to "The Black Keys" sold me. Very different and yet a very similar structure to the oldest of pop songs without being overtly pop. Great performance, great bass work as well, very impressed. They've got the hooks, the have the chops, who knows what will be next. Bands grow so slowly. Until Twilight, nobody even knew who "The Black Keys" were and I had been listening for years, oh well, I'll take progression where I can find it. Cheers.
I discovered this song through some guy on Omegle. He was vibing to this song in the background smoking meth, I kid you not Smoking meth, he was a kind hearted person though😃
