when alex looks at jamie at 2:00 is priceless, you can not buy that moment, a friend looking at another friend, realizing what they have done, only a hand full of people get to feel that in a life time, specially at that age, long live AT and AM.
i dont get it, john lennon was recognised in the 60's for being such a great musican, why doesnt alex get the credit he deserves? there really is no one like, he's ahead of his time clearly. him and miles are the new paul and john fact. anyway alex turner we salute u, only when hes gone will people realise his brilliance....
@@cartucho328 I'm cringing heavily at my old comment, that's for sure. Lmao. Though some of it was just to be funny anyway, like the bit about Alex and Miles. I do think Alex is the best of his time (British indie rock fell off a bridge in the '10s) though a part of me is a bit disappointed the route he and Arctic Monkeys have gone down. For me the first 2 albums stand above the rest and showcased a lot of potential. I think albums like AM are great, worthy of the praise and acclaim (don't think they've released a bad album yet either), but fuck do I miss them strumming fast down the guitar.
@@jamiecal11 it may be different to anything’s they’ve done, but that doesn’t mean that it’s bad. In the case of TBHC, it’s the opposite. It’s their most musically complex, their most interesting, and extremely technical. It’s one of the most, if not their most finest piece of work.
i read about how he wasnt sure to add it and i was like WHAT! its like the best song!!!!! and its so brilliant how its written, so calm and just perfect!!
In a foreign place the saving grace was the feeling That it was a heart that he was stealing Oh, he was ready to impress and the fierce excitement The eyes are bright; he couldn't wait to get away I bet the Juliet was just the icing on the cake Make no mistake, no And even if somehow you could have shown you the place you wanted Well, I'm sure you could have made it that bit better on your own And I bet she told a million people that she'd stay in touch Well, all the little promises - they don't mean much When there's memories to be made And I hope you're holding hands by New Years Eve They made it far too easy to believe That true romance can't be achieved these days And even if somehow you could have shown you the place you wanted Well, I sure you could have made it that bit better on your own You are the only ones who know
Love this song version. I used to listen to this song a lot when my daughter was a baby, now she loves them as much as I do. Planning to go together to their concert next time they come to our country ❤️
@@jorgeramos3559 @Salman A Merdeka The chords are: 1st verse F A7 Dm Cm F Bb Gm (repeat) 2nd verse F A7 Dm Cm Bb Am Gm Chorus Bb Bbm Am D7 Bbm 3rd verse F A7 Dm Cm F Bb Gm (repeat) 4th verse F A7 Dm Cm Bb Am Gm Chorus Bb Bbm Am D7 Bbm Hope this helps 2 yrs later :)
i liked it instantly when i listened to it. which is saying something, because i'm not much of a mellow person. but the thing is, it brings out the side of the arctic monkeys rarely shown. ;)
+Le Owl (Mr Owl) Verse: F - A7 - d - c - Bb - (a before the chorus) - g Chorus: Bb - bb - a - D7 - g - bb Outro: same as the verse with the a between Bb and g
+Vega Sorry, but that's totally wrong. It's this (all bar chords) -- 1st: F (133211), ?? (xx768xx), DM (x57765), CM (x35545) A# (688766), Gm (355333) -- 2nd: F - ?? - DM - CM - A# - Am (577555) - Cm - A# - A#m (688666) - Am - A7 (57575) - Gm - A# then back to F. Watch this video for timing but this is definitely how it goes. I picked up the ?? by ear and watching where he plays on the neck.
+Wenyi108 Some random guy says: "Awesome job", and then he replies: "Pardon?", the guy repeats: "Awesome job" and then he jokes about it with: "Well, with the guitar? You mean: Awesome, who ever hired him? Awesome job...". the credit for understanding is not mine, some other guy on youtube did it. Sorry for bad english.
In a foreign place, the saving grace was the feeling That it was her heart that he was stealin' Oh, he was ready to impress And the fierce excitement, the eyes are bright He couldn't wait to get away And I bet that Juliet was just the icing on the cake Make no mistake, no And even if somehow we could have Shown you the place you wanted Well, I'm sure you could have made it That bit better on your own And I bet she told a million people that she'd stay in touch But all the little promises, they don't mean much When there's memories to be made And I hope you're holdin' hands by New Year's Eve They made it far too easy to believe That true romance can't be achieved these days And even if somehow they could have Shown you the place you wanted Well, I'm sure you could have made it That bit better on your own You are the only ones who know
the way i interpret it is there are a few stories. he's talking about someone whos moving away and is a control freak and thinks they do things better than everyone else (Even if somehow we could have shown you the place you wanted, im sure you could have made it that bit better on your own). also he's talking about someone who says theyll keep in touch but in reality had no intention of keeping in touch and is more focused on where they are going
Same thing happened with many songs, like "A certain shade of green" by Incubus.. it's just that music improves when feelings change with the flow of time, I guess (But it can go the other way round too)
@jamiecal11 a lot of people agree that he's brilliant ;D don't worry. a lot of people just don't listen to good music anymore, but those who do recognize him
