Diamonds are forever, they are all I need to please me They can stimulate and tease me They won't leave in the night I've no fear that they might desert me Diamonds are forever, hold one up and then caress it Touch it, stroke it and undress it I can see ev'ry part, nothing hides in the heart to hurt me I don't need love, for what good will love do me? Diamonds never lie to me For when love's gone, they'll lustre on Diamonds are forever, sparkling round my little finger Unlike men, the diamonds linger Men are mere mortals who are not worth going to your grave for I don't need love, for what good will love do me? Diamonds never lie to me For when love's gone, they'll lustre on Diamonds are forever, forever, forever
1. This would sound SO much better now that he is past puberty and his voice is deeper, smoother and isn't as raspy and immature. 2. It's clear Alex loves retro music - how awesome is that? 3. Is there anything Alex can't do?
Diamonds are forever, They are all I need to please me, They can stimulate and tease me, They won't leave in the night, I've no fear that they might desert me. Diamonds are forever, Hold one up and then caress it, Touch it, stroke it and undress it, I can see ev'ry part, Nothing hides in the heart to hurt me. I don't need love, For what good will love do me? Diamonds never lie to me, For when love's gone, They'll lustre on. Diamonds are forever, Sparkling round my little finger. Unlike men, the diamonds linger; Men are mere mortals who Are not worth going to your grave for. I don't need love, For what good will love do me? Diamonds never lie to me, For when love's gone, They'll lustre on. Diamonds are forever, forever, forever. Diamonds are forever, forever, forever. Forever and ever.

So many things I adore about this. Iconic song (a personal fave), they were fetuses, he didn't change the lyrics to something like "unlike girls, the diamonds linger" or whatever, and his voice... Ugh. He's like some sweet lad who's been hurt by a bad man and now is letting out the pain via bad life choices and kickass rocky arraignments lol. I am in love with this. I wish there was a studio version.
there is a studio version. domino released a compilation of rarities of their different artists and arctic monkeys' studio version of diamonds are forever is the last track of the album. here you go: open.spotify.com/track/2COizGXKn3n8XQ1gkIhiqy or here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZlHsJ_Ct0jc.html
I’d love them to do it now, years later. I think they would be darker maybe? Who knows. Taking this classic and meaning lyrics which are true. Never really listened to the lyrics. Wow!
Sung very flat, but it's the end of a show... it's a very angry song, and needs just a *little* more passion. The eyes of the singer should blaze with the fire in Kali's heart.
I don't think I liked his voice when I first heard it either, his singing wasn't bad but I didn't like the sound of it, but it really grew on me. And the guitars/drums in the song seem fitting, I don't see a major problem with the way they composed it.
