Arctic Monkeys playing somewhere. Setlist 01 - scummy 02 - i bet you look good 03 - dancing shoes 04 - fake tales 05 - ritz 06 - mardy bum 07 - a certain romance
I was in Sheffield at the time, the buzz around this lot was unbelievable, made me wish me and my mates from Liverpool would’ve carried on. They had supportive parents and somewhere to practice………….. Imagine how many bands have been quashed by that very basic premise Parents……… don’t tell kids to shut up, like we did In a mates garage, yes we were shite,,,, but look what could happen
I'm the same age as Alex, while I was in college, bored out of my mind and day dreaming of being a rockstar he was doing it for real. I doubt he had dreams of being in college
THE REAL SETLIST. 0:00 - ritz to rubble 1:42 - mardy bum 4:14 - a certain romance 6:21 - when the sun goes down 7:36 - I bet you look good on the dance floor 9:17 - dancing shoes 10:20 - fake tales of San Francisco
I'd sell my lungs to travel back in time and being in my 20s at those times. My parents made me in '97 so in 2003 I was way too little to be able to appreciate them. Harsh reality.
Well, all of you can see, Alex always was that crazy guy so excentric like now, it's just the fame was so massive in that moment (2005-2006) that obviously he turned very shy.
Actually, when the band was first forming Alex wanted someone else to be the lead singer. So by this point he was beginning to come out of his shell a little bit.
@@okaypearl Mm, not sure this is 2005. By 2005 Arctic Monkeys already play in big venues in the UK and they even haven't the debut album yet, and also you can note the difference in the version songs from the 2005 shows and this. I think this video is from 2003/04.
im facinated by this whole band - alex is essentially the king of all rockstars - He got his A-list rockstar certification before he got his driving permit
Hold ur horses buddy. U can love Alex Turner but dont need to disrespect all the other Rockstars like that. Alex is really good, but honestly he doesnt match upto some of the musicians of the past.
@@aunthaumv3711who's better than Alex Turner? There genuinely isn't anyone with such consistent musical creativity AND poetic voice. Maybe some people outweigh him at one or the other, but not both simultaneously
@@joshjenner9486 Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder just to name a few. And all the people mentioned here have much better stage presence and are overall easy people to have a conversation with. (They're not awkward like Alex, which is not very Rockstar like)
@@aunthaumv3711I love all those guys, and they’re amazing, but it’s unfair to say someone’s less of a rockstar because they were an awkward teenager. Look at him now, he’s right on par with them (or maybe even better) when it comes to stage presence
@@EvanKiernanMusic have to heavily disagree with that. Hes not on par with them and is definitely not better than them. He even cant sing to the same level as those guys. You gotta be just when making such comparisons. The only one he can come close to is David Bowie in regards to singing. But i could be wrong about that.
The 2003-2015 concerts/performances by Arctic monkeys won’t ever happen again I can tell. Like they’re getting old and possibly going to start a family soon, their fun young adult years are over
I am reading this in 2023; I saw them last monday and I can tell you, they were AMAZING!!! These guys are NOT getting old any time soon, in fact they're still growing as artists, they're much mature and you can really tell in their concerts.
2003 I lived in San Pedro, 6th Street (a ghostly bonafide haunted one bedroom cottage). Drove a red Ford Escort. Performed high intensity Chun Li Taebo kicks to stay firm and fit. Frequently, friends would join the most epic crowded house parties. Profound & excitable bubbly daydreams + spooky nightmares imaginable spent atop a hill, adjacent California’s finest 150 yr old lighthouse. 🫶🏼 Happy Anniversary Baby ❤ 💋ADT
the set list in the description is all wrong for some reason 1. ritz 2. mardy bum 3. romance 4. when the sun goes down (scummy) 5. dancefloor 6. dancing shoes 7. fake tales
Mansell i think they were referring to the description where it says that scummy was the first song in the set but it was actually ritz that plays first in the video
