@@tomashdown6059 His hair is generally defined by his girlfriends. As soon as he broke up with Alexa he changed his hair style and that has happened when he has broken up other times.
Alex Turner: One of the best lyricists of this decade, and barely able to get through an interview. I love how this man's mind works. Such a shy guy, but just explodes on stage. Definitely one of the best bands of the last 10 years.
He's not stuttering, stoned, stupid, or mean. Some people have trouble with conversations, God knows I do. And he acts like that all the time. And he's not mean at all. And he's very smart.
No one can pull off the "I haven't washed my hair in a week and can't be bothered to give a fuck" look quite like Al can. Also did anyone else swoon when he mentioned going to see Alexa dj because I definitely did.
Gabriel Starkey original albums ten songs bonus songs make it 12 if you count i haven't got my strange (itunes bonus) and red right hand (japanese bonus)
I remember reading an article from eycte era that said Alex once sent an email to an interviewer after the interview apologizing that few words made it to the finish line and that it was all his fault. Such a humble soul.
i actually printed that interview out and put it on my wall! originally, it was a TLSP interview but the addition consisted of an email conversation with alex. he said some really interesting things there, i even highlighted some with a marker.
I love how Alex still seems so shy when it comes to public speaking or giving an interview, like we all know he's a writing genius, and that he's become a big role modell, yet when having to convey his thoughts immediately to someone, it seems as though he makes sure if every word he actually says out loud is correct, before saying them. I love the fact that for him "the chicken or the dickhead" question seemed to stay out of the picture and that up to this day he remains that adorable guy he always used to be.
It's been years and years and Alex still the beautiful human being he has always being. It really makes me mad when the "fans" loves to sell him as a mean playboy. Alex is still this same kid but with some years more and life hitting harder. That's it.
arctic monkeys are just a brilliant band. not just in their music but the members. they are just real people, that make music how they want and music that they like. even with the simplest of guitar riffs or bass riff the lyrics that alex turner creates are just beautiful and just make their music so easy to listen to. they dont sing about 'stupid ho's' they sing and play about things we can relate to, things that people dont usually sing about and they make it work brilliantly
I don't think that Turner is stoned, although he sounds it. If you listen to the deepness of his songs, and the way his mind must work, and the way he must view the world, then it can justify why he talks so slow, calm, and honestly. He cares about words I think so won't rush in and abuse them without carefully thinking about them. And with 'My Propeller', I couldn't believe the shallowness of the Guardian writer when he aligned the lyrics of that song to sex. Alex has pride and self-respect.
This interview is up there in my top three favorites. Great set of questions, nice flow and the interviewer knew how to put shy Al at ease. Lovely! Also, Humbug era Alex makes a prettier girl than I ever will be. :')
This is such a good interview, the topics are actually worth listening to rather than just another interview where you might as well watch it because you like the band
he's the coolest! but honestly, if i hadn't known that he's an amazing lyricist before i watched this interview, with the way he talks, i would've never guessed that he's the one writing the lyrics in the band. and yet, he's a genius!
+miranda turner-i was good, you definitely should watch. He clears up what the song My propeller is really about, my dirty mind thought different. Lol! Plus Alex has a habit of rubbing his eyes during an interview. He's still like that. It's cute. Plus I like that Nick was on this interview since you don't hear him speak much.
