+Ciaran McHale Well Kasabian are a rock band and didn't even get a nomination for having a no1 album which just shows how the corrupted the music industry is.
“That rock and roll, eh? That rock and roll, it just won’t go away. It might hibernate from time to time, sink back into the swap. I think the cyclical nature of the universe in which it exists demands that acquiesce to some of its rules. But it’s always waiting there, just around the corner, ready to make its way back through the sludge and smash through the glass ceiling, looking better than ever. Yeah, that rock and roll, it seems like it’s faded away sometimes, but it will never die. And there’s nothing you can do about it…” “Invoice me for the microphone if you need to
+Kadin H-i wonder why he was in such a mood. Lol he normally doesn't seem to be that kind of person. But like all of us I guess we do have our "piss off" kind of days. Lol
the reason the mic didnt make a noise or have feedback is because 1)he literally verbally warned the soundguy he was gonna drop it by saying to invoice him for the mic 2) when mic dropping started to get popular and artists would do it often or at every one of their shows theyd hold the mic out for a second first then drop it. its not to make it look cooler, its just for warning to the soundguy to have a second to mute it, which alex also did. so like soundguy got a double warning basically.
I guess I'm the only one who digs how he just dashed at the stage with an air of bravado and swagger and legit spoke whatever was on his mind amidst an industry that is infamous for its superficiality and fakeness. And I guess it's legit for him to act that way when he's achieved all that he's achieved on the basis of pure talent and not some cheap marketing tactics or because they're a bunch of cute little boy toys with ordinary musical talents. If anything, his blatant attitude has made me love them even more!
The world would be a super boring place if everyone was so damn humble all of the time. In fact, Im a bit tired of all this humble pie! Everyone is always trying to raise each other's self-esteem, when people feel bad about themselves, everyone's telling them that they're wonderful to cheer them up but once people's self-esteem is restored, once someone ACTUALLY believes that they're great, then everyone hates them for it and calls them an a$$hole. The world so backwards, we're only "wonderful" when we think we aren't but don't dare think of yourself as really being wonderful or people will hate you! Give me a phucking break! ROCK ON ALEX TURNER...ROCK ON!
@@xxnarikaa6095 he's not like that. he's a very anxious and shy person around new people and during events like that cause he's autistic. he either drinks or takes something to calm the nerves down and appear so nonchalant
People are misinterpreting alex as arrogant. Ever since the band won awards in 2006 they have acted like this in their speeches. Not because theyre ungrateful but because of the ideology that comes with award shows like this. Its the music being made that decides a band's musical achievement, not the size of their trophy cabinet.
I hate all of the negative comments. Atleast they didn't just walk on stage saying "thank you to all the people that made this happen! I want to thank my mom, my dad, and most importantly you guys!!!" This speech was different, something to get the crowd thinking, and something to remember.
@@cocokoochie9648 they’re not slagging the others off for being grateful, they’re just remarking on how boring it is when they all give the same sappy speech and it’s nice to see something different
But what's funny is that all the people who are calling him arrogant and cocky etc probably didn't even notice that little joking smile he had when he was walking away with Nick. Not even a cocky smile, just a little cheeky one. Why? Because he knows it was all a bit of banter. You people need to calm the fuck down.
chilllmilll that´s just ridiculous and unworthy like his whole behaviour has become in the last years...you should watch old AMonkeys clips...that was the really cool badass Alex Turner
TylerDurden43 he's just an arrogant little knob. He was more mellow when AM released their first album, now he's sold out and trying way too hard to impersonate Liam Gallagher.
I feel like Matt who always used to speak for the group always just hopes to god Alex isn't to rude and manages to spit out his sentence. Gotta love Alex though.
He was like that even before he was famous. You should see them back in 2006. They were still the same. HE ISNT AN ASSHOLE . they're obviously thankful but he has said before that he doesn't care about the awards
To everyone saying this is sheer arrogance, this is another one of Turner's swipes at the manufactured pop groups that are forced down your throat and get all the airtime on most commercial stations. He's deliberately over the top here, to prove a point.
Alex Fox If he's trying to prove a point then he's really bad at it. Besides that it seems quite arrogant and hypocritical to talk down to "manufactured" pop groups considering the newest Arctic Monkey lp. Well, to be fair, it really depends on what you define as "manufactured".
Arctic Monkeys have the best speeches. "Invoice me for the microphone if you need to" Yessss LMFAO at people like PeacheS Geldof. Like who even are you?
I get the impression that people are overly sensitive to things like this these days. He's probably drunk and acting cocky on purpose. What did you want him to do? A lame ass speech like every other celebrity? I don't know but I appreciate a speech like this every once in a great while. Just my opinion, no hate
alex is like the smart friend in the group doing presentation and answering questions while the others just standing behind him for the shake of a group work and grades
I like to think that there was a guy in the sound room who saw the mic drop coming and turned to mic off just in time so that it didn't make a sound causing Alex to look somewhat like a fool.
People are calling the face of rock music for the past ten years and asshole because he's drunk, trying to remember a speech that says nothing other than that rock and roll will never die? I guess you people hate Elvis, Cash, and other legends who acted just like this, too!
The face of rock for 10 years? No one has ever called them that as far as I know 😂you've literally just made up a title and gave it to them. Don't get me wrong they're great but you're defending them with this made up title that no one refers to them as...
Actually I said it because I've heard others say it. I didn't make it up. I'm not even that big of a fan of theirs, why would I make something like that up?
I'm Defnotgosu must be jokin comparing Elvis and Cash to Alex...the point is that both were authentic...when you watch old gigs and interviews of Alex you can see an authentic Alex...with his little shyness but still self-confidenceness...he was really cool but now he´s trying to be cool...miss the old Alex
Can I be that deep and a genius when I'm drunk? Alex Turner is one of the most brilliant men out there. This speech was so well spoken, and I don't care if you think he was being a dick. (He was drunk anyways) rock 'n' roll will truly never die.
my mind flashed straight to alex doing his whole “that rock n’ roll eh” thing at the Brits the second Damiano said “rock n’ roll never dies” at ESC 2021
Watched this and thought "wow this is arrogant" then watched it again and thought "wow this is brilliant". We all interpret his speech differently, which make sit brilliant in a non conventional way.
