I was born in 1983 but watched this movie today based on reviews. The level is so good it could have won if it went to the Oscars, if not for the acting, it could easily have won for a technical awards. But the question I kept asking is where did Indian cinema go wrong? and why didn't Indian cinema movies build on this movie. I thought it's the Indian audience fault they don't pay to watch art movies. But I think now it's the traditional media which has put art movies in a corner. Now the mindset is changing with social media people have the power to choose what to believe.
5:28 *Correction: The short story Surya is written by SD Panvalkar on which Ardh Satya is based. Vijay Tendulkar wrote the screenplay and Vasant Dev wrote the dialogues.*
The essence of this conversation is what Manoj Bajpai said. Dialogue delivery is extremely vital. Delivery with timing in clear and easy to understand speech with proper accent always create massive impact. The majority audience feels practically involved.
@@rebelfromhell777 load of bollocks.......not everything which is not mainstream is good....ardha satya is a damn overrated movie; average direction and no organic transition between scenes...
@@samakshrai5241 I agree and disagree with you at the same time. Even I was like this when i watched an art movie for the first time, I was like where is the damn climax, where are the character going because we are conditioned by the mainstream cinema so much so that we need a fulfilled ending and spoon feeding of content. To an average masala enjoyer, even Godfather will feel overrated (Can't emphasizes more that it's one of the greatest piece of cinema ever made). I would suggest you to start with some light art movies like ship of thesus and lunchbox. Also try watching the series Kirdar by Gulzar. You will start appreciating the subtle moments of the craft
