Do what? You can easily do RGBA (on non-Arduino AVRASM, ofc), and the direct-to-bus approach does wonders, especially with the slow SPI/TWI (even on true 8080 it is still fun).

I have sone 1.54" screens that say SSH1309. But they work with some of the SSH1306 code. With the U8g2 library they use the 1306 code. But the adafruit SSH1306 library won't work with them. I can't seem to find a dedicate SSH1309 repository anywhere.
@upir_upir
@upir_upir Месяц назад
Are you sure you are using correct IIC addresses? I believe the default one is different for Adafruit vs u8g2. I don’t see any reason why the adafruit library should not work.

Just a warning, to those who don't realize how small this is, this is the size of two pennies stacked next to each other. Just a warning, don't expect it to be larger than it is when you get it because you'll be underwhelmed. I wish I noticed what 2.5 inches size was, and measured it out.
@upir_upir
@upir_upir 29 дней назад
Thank you for your comment, but isn´t the size obvious from the video? There is a cutting mat with 1cm grid for helping with visualizing the size, plus of course my hands should be a good size indicator. Is there anything else I can do to make sure viewers understand the size of displays?
@initiald975
@initiald975 28 дней назад
@@upir_upir Fair enough argument. I do think it would be better to scale to something we use everyday, like a penny, quarter, or banana (just joking about the banana). Most parts are this tiny, but when I think of displays, I think of things the size of my 14” computer screen. And that’s my fault as a newcomer to this stuff.

Can you please make a tutorial about oled screens and EEPROM i2c memory to store images, and save some arduino memory for other purposes? It would be really cool
@upir_upir
@upir_upir 27 дней назад
I can, but probably a better, cheaper and easier option is to use different microcontroller with more memory. Like ESP32, Arduino UNO R4, any Seeed Xiao board etc.

They are but ridiculously overpriced. Ironically I found a similar oled from a cheap 5v charger which I bought a while ago. Pretty sure the charger costs less than what they sell these oleds for.
@MHTSAPAS
@MHTSAPAS Месяц назад
The one you saw at the beginning of the video is around $17 shipped from AliExpress and works off the 5v and 3.3v outputs of the Arduino/Esp32

Using your knowledge, the generation of "On Screen Display" came to mind, have you played with this before? maybe an esp32 camera, and generate a dashboard at the top, or even, have you ever heard of MILKV cards (which also support cameras)?
@upir_upir

Amazing, Thank you for the inspiration ❤😊. It would be better if you make it with more animations and useful by adding buttons ( or using a touchable screen ) and adding an SD card. I want to see a tutorial from you on how to use an SD card please. I have problems with Arduino's memory. Thanks ❤.
@upir_upir
@upir_upir 26 дней назад
You are welcome! Yes, this was just a beginning, real menu would have buttons for sure. As for memory, I found it easier to just switch to ESP32 when I need more memory, or even Arduino UNO R4, that also has like 256kB or memory. Is that maybe an option?
