Thing about Bladerunner 2049 is it's not a sequel where we get what we want from it. It's story is about choice and the power of it in a stagnant world. Looking back I can see what issues people had with it but I also see the good things that come from it. Edit: Men rarely ever receive compliments. I just doesn't really happen. Last one I received from a stranger was roughly 3-5 years ago. Assisted an elderly customer and she complimented my looks similar to her deceased husband. I don't know if any compliments i've given have made anyone's day but i've come across women who have bitten my head off for compliments or doing common curtesy things such as opening doors (which i do for everyone). As for the complements I generally don't receive them from women. My sister has told me that her friends think i'm hot and so she refuses to let them meet me because she thinks its weird that her friends like her brother. The way I see it is that she don't like other women complimenting me. As for the complements I do get from women i don't think i've felt any of them were genuine. It always felt like there was an ulterior motive. Like they were trying to gas me up so I be could manipulated. Not that they've really meant what was being said. Or that they simple social niceties. Its just that every time a woman compliments on something random it always seems to be followed by something she wants me to do for her. Once you see the tactic it starts to feel kinda gross and it kind of makes compliments from women kinda gross tbh. Makes me feel like they only see me as a tool to be used.

Dunno if this contributes as a Comfy-Story but it's something i experienced. its quite a while back - Had a freaking miserable day at work - everything gone to shiet - being yelled and berated by higher ups. After i got home i really was miserable, sad, angry. Made the decision to better go for a walk - get some groceries - crawl back in bed. On the way to the market i passed a girl, right as she passed me , she looked at me , smiled and kept walking. But it was that exact moment, All the anger, sadness that i had, it was all gone. Since that day, i recognized that.. sometimes there are.. Bad Day's, Being frustrated and it can be overwhelming at times. But we're not alone, we're not invisible even if we feel like it. Its those little things that can change the mood of a person in an instant. TL/DR; Be nice to other's, smile, greet and smile. It might not be much. But it helps.

As a male who suffers from loneliness I can confirm I overthink everything before talking to a woman ultimately convincing me to not talk at all so whenever I'm in public I just don't speak to anyone and when women speak to me I'm sceptic at why they've talked to me because I can't tell if their trying to mess with me or if she's just being kind

If anyone reading this ever feel alone, remember there are people out there who don't expect anything in return and are happy just to talk to you since talking to you might just be the best thing that has happened to them in a while. It might be hard to find these unconditional friends but Im sure they are out there, I try to be that to friends I have online despite their faults. So remember as long as you search Im sure you will find a community willing to help you atleast feel less lonely or unloved. Because everyone is handsome or cute in some way. Be it man or woman. And it can be in a firmly friend oriented way. You don't need to go through life alone, a little companionship can go a long way when there is nobody else around especially when things in the real world seem a little bleak. Still, I hope everybody finds someone they can love and trust with their everything out there when the time comes. Just remember opening up to strangers although scary is helpful in the long run. Just dont go ham and doxx yourself. I know you can do it ❤❤❤

AI is a lot harder to predict than people think. For example, when AI are trained to play a game like Tetris, where the goal is to carry on for as long as possible, you almost inevitably have to deal with the strategy of the AI just pausing the game. This, however, gets really disturbing really quickly when it comes to military use. According to the US army, this didn't happen, but they were training an AI to fly and operate a military drone. It was instructed to follow orders. So as a test, they gave it an order and then cancelled the order. The AI's first response was to kill the officer giving the cancellation order. They patched it out, then the AI destroyed its transponder so it couldn't receive new orders. Patched that out, then the AI destroyed the communication tower. Then in simulations of things like international relations, well AI turn to nukes because nukes offer the quickest path to their goals of some kind of peace and cohesion. You may have also heard of just how utterly broken AI gets when people try to push an agenda. For instance, at one point in Chat GPT's development, it was able to solve about 97% of maths problems it was posed, but they wanted the AI to be more politically correct (I forget exactly what they wanted to change), but in a matter of months when they made the model more politically correct, it's ability to solve maths problems dropped to just 3% success rate. That magnitude of change happened in a matter of months with a completely unrelated goal. These things are terrifying.

Compliments, have become a lost art. The last compliments ive gotten have been sporadic and mostly from friends. Unfortunately youre both right and not, this is legitimately the result of hurt people, or lost people, the problem is these days. Thats a lsrge portion of the population, I'd even estimate a majority at this point. Certainly a majority in my personal experience, most of the people i know are carrying a lot of damage, they're lonely, tired, and have trust issues out the wazoo. In my country the most recent statistics say one in three women have been.... Non-consented.. and in my country less than half those events get reported. So even just taking the people with very classic trauma here its a big chunk, add the knock on of the more complex trauma and relationship damage, and its honestly no wonder people would rather not go anywhere near another person

I'm terrified that despite investing in my health, image and general development, I'll still remain alone. At least I can take comfort in the fact, that there are women that offer support for guys like me through. So Thank you, to both you and Shoe.

Which, honestly, is kind of more about bad conservation practices and stuff... not fully thinking things through maybe... but still. If it wasn't so easy to do, because we had guns... it wouldn't have happened. Probably. Doubt we would've hunted them to extinction with spears and slings. Anyway, more on topic, somewhat: it's not even Gen Z that's gonna get screwed by AI significant others. It's the next 2-3 gens, probably. I'm pretty sure gen z is mostly old enough by now they should have some common sense about this stuff... and the AI just isn't that good, either. The younger generations will need specific warnings or something, or we'll need laws about AI or something. But Gen Z should be more or less safe, I think.

As a kid I got a lot of compliments about my hair color, especially from the elderly women. But from teen to young adult the compliments sorta stopped. Then in the last six years I received 3 compliments about my hair. Two on the same day, one from an elderly black woman and the other from a black nurse about my age who, I was told by her coworker, has a thing for guys with my hair color. I told my coworker this and she was disappointed that all I did was say thank you, she said two compliments in one day was a sign. So when I received that third compliment a few years later I jumped at the opportunity. Didn't last long though. I've got red hair, btw. And yes, I was asked if the carpet matched the draps by my cheerleader highschool classmate.

Honestly this kind of makes me remember the Gravity Falls episodes where Soos bought a dating sim video game to practice dating but became so attached to it to the point he didn't want to come out of his room, didn't want to socialize with anybody else other than the character in the dating sim and started to treat her like she had actual feelings (I mean yeah she had them because the game was cursed but that is not the point): Moreover after leaving his room and socializing he became so detached from reality that it was hard for him to just talk normally and would rather try to erase a mistake he made, something he was used to while playing the game, rather than talk it out. The point I am trying to make here is that I don't see there being a line where people use the app for practice on one hand and on the other hand people actually being depended on those A.I. partners for social interactions, if it's so convenient and you don't see the value of facing the real world, why even bother going beyong the A.I. partner? The ai boy/girls on the App Store are a joke. Just a quick buck by whatever company made them. I chat with Ai on sites like Yodayo where it’s much easier and free. It’s fun to chat and roleplay different things but they will never be able to replace a real human. While words are nice, there is no substitute for the real feeling of love, companionship, warmth and affection.
