I love foraging a bunch of different seaweeds and then making some miso soup with all the different types. Whatever I don’t eat fresh, I dehydrated and store in vacuumed jars. Mavericks is a good place to forage a bunch of different types.

Hi. I am one of your RU-vid subscriber and I enjoy very much watching your videos and I want to thank you for the info about seaweed. I believe there are many more kinds of seaweeds, like ones with little bubbles that pops when you chew and also the kind that feels alike green and fine silk with texture and looks alike silk thread and so on… Can you do more episodes and experiment with different kinds of seaweeds as well? :-) Subscriber from Vegas

Would like to see more seaweed harvesting. Maybe make seaweed salads and maybe some soup. Also would they be good in sandwiches in place of lettuce, trying both hydrated or dehydrated. Sea weed chips with oil and salt maybe battered, just random ways to try seaweed.

Go for it man. It is not only a simple foraging video but also super educational. It provides us viewers lots of knowledge on different types of sea creatures just like your sea urchin foraging video. Learned a lot from that video. I saved that one just in case I will go and try it out myself. Also I thought you would eat them raw or at least blanch them. So just wondering how they would taste like when they are fresh.

Thanks for telling us about the different seaweeds you found, what Not to harvest in CA and letting us know we need a fishing license. I randomly brought home kelp from the beach to but I never seriously harvested. Now I know i'l need a fishing license and other stuff. Thanks for eating on camera, including mistakes, and giving suggestions. It helps me learn about what to do.

The way they do the Nori in Korea they take the sheets brush lightly with roasted sesame oil then in a very hot pan just put in for 3 to 5 seconds per side. Blazing hot pan. Pull it out lightly salt both sides. My sister-in-law is a Korean chef
