Shapiro and Atkins have Conned ownership. If it wasn’t a conglomerate aka Rogers that owned that team, and maybe a single person, Atkins would be gone for sure BUT because they’ve brought more asses into the seats and the “New” expansion of the Stadium, Rogers just looks at the numbers and not game results.

If thats your strategy, why are you paying him $20M for 3 playoff innings? Spend that on offense then.

I don't think Charlie Montoyo would have pulled Jose Berrios are 3 and change innings.

Montoyo did same thing and Jays lost. You cannot put 4 or 5 pitchers in a game and expect them all to do well. This foolish end to season is on MGMT

Exactly. With every guy you run out there, the greater the risk that one of those guys is not going to have it on a given night.

Here is an analysis we won't hear or read about. If we hadn't had Davis S. make his run at being a Jay , with his homers this team would not make the playoffs.

Analytics are wonderful when your team wins and stupid when your team loses. Case in point, Billy Bean's Oakland A's and this year's Blue Jays

What is scary is that the manager is not necessarily against all this. As younger managers come on board they will not understand such things as 'eye tests' etc.

You realize being “against it” means losing your job

Yes I understand this. And most of the managers are in their 40's which means they grew up in this world where their powers are not those of the Billy Martin's and Earl Weavers of the world. It just results in a poorer product overall if the decisons are pulled from the field of play @@freddycalipari4242

Gabe Kapler was the good analytics soldier for Farhan Zaidi - i.e. pinch hit for a player who homered in a previous at-bat - and he still took it the neck.

Only in Toronto stop saying baseball, no other teams where doing this in the playoffs

If this continues, will they replace managers with a robot? I've lost interest in the game.

Not to comment on this specific situation- with the amount of pressure todays pitchers place on their arms they can’t throw 110 pitches without them screwing something up - the average speed today is probaly 95 not 85 or so - in the late 80s low 90s was a pretty big deal

The evil spawn of Jonah Hill proves its worth. The big question now is how the players ever trust the khaki clowns again. Jose won't. Yusei won't. They bagged Schnied. Vladdy might want out. Franchise is really messed up. Nice bars though. Plus we got two more games than Teo. hey shannie - been a long time.

It's advice. A good way to evaluate players in a numeric way, but IMHO not to run games in situ.

There needs to be a limit on how many pitchers can be used.

Why?
@freddycalipari4242
@freddycalipari4242 11 месяцев назад
@@shooter1973 I mean pitchers. I hate all the relievers that are used now and starters only going 5-6.

I don't think there should be a limit on number of pitchers used...I'm against dictating strategy, just be mindful with every guy you run out there, the greater the risk that one of those guys is not going to have it on a given night.

It made sense righties coming up. Berrios got torched third time through order all season. Kikichi much better vs righties than Berrios.
@lornegorman2756
@lornegorman2756 11 месяцев назад
When was the last time Kikuchi came into a game mid-inning with a man on first. Not this year. You have experienced relievers like Mayza and Cabrera available. Guys who have been relieving all year. But the morons decide to bring in a starter.
