The difference between DP and Colin? Dan has class and Colin doesn't. This was a deserved ass chewing; never question a man's work ethic unless you know first hand.
This is pbly the comment w which I agree the most. Cowherd's work ethic and ability to generate ratings are unquestioned. However, it's also readily-apparent that he often resorts to low blows to sustain those ratings and fill airtime. DP fills his time by conducting some of the most informative and entertaining interviews in the business while consistently bringing on A-list guests
Man ... going back to this years later and now knowing the health issues Dan had for a long time... goes to show how EXTRA hard he had to work to accomplish all those things. Thank you, DP, for being a great example and inspiration.
@@drevm7991 the only thing Skip Bayless works hard at is pounding the table every time the cowboys win against a team with a losing record and going on about how Dak has the highest QB so he must be a top 5 QB.
❤ Dan Patrick. His professionalism and knowledge are top notch. Have fond memories of DP and Stuart Scott on SportsCenter. Woke up early before school to catch it. RIP Stuart Scott.
Dan and Keith Oberman were the glory days! I'd watch them after night work. I remember when espn started watched every morning before grade school and junior high.
After years of listening to them all, Dan Patrick is one of a few out there who manage not to condescend to the listener. He is always interesting, thought-provoking and has a conversation with the listener. He gets to the heart of the matter quickly without the fluff. Dan has a successful show because he's very good. His producers make him better but he doesn't need them. He goes, the show is dead. His work ethic as a topic of conversation is moot. His show speaks for itself. However, I did appreciate his response to Colin. And I can feel for Colin. We've all been in that place of feeling slighted, wanting more- perhaps some respect. In their highly competitive world it must've been very difficult to watch Dan on that Super Bowl stage.
I like Cowherd and enjoy listening to him sometimes. But Dan Patrick is a legend. Cowherd should know better than to rile the dogs up. There is a pun in there somewhere.
I used to listen to Cowherd, but then got totally tired of his schtick. Dan never tells you how to think, and tries to look at sports from different points of view. The DP show may be the best thing on radio, of any format.
"I'm good enough to be able to make a mistake in front of 100 million people. Are you?" Owned. Colin Cowherd will never call a Super Bowl or touch a Lombardi Trophy. The two aren't in the same league. Next to DP's resume, Cowherd's might as well be written in crayon.
The Dan Patrick Show is one of the most listenable radio shows I've ever heard, because he works hard on it, and you can hear it. Cowherd just rants and tells people what to think. This one is not even close.
And...... that's the reason why espn fired Collin Cowerd went to Fox. Dan Patrick has creditability with Athletes and can get literally anyone on his show. Who can Collin get? Seriously Dan can get Hall of Famers. Thats just to show you.
What a "stand up" response. Although I haven't followed you for a while Dan, I see you from time to time and have never had a gripe. I will say once I heard Mr. Cowfart on the radio for the first time, I was wondering how he got where he is. Don't even know who he is, or what he did before. Cheers Dan!!!
Dan > Colin . Not even close Dan hosted the super bowl award ceremony Sunday Night, then flew back at to Connecticut for his show first thing in the morning. Colin is a joke and very salty of Dan's success.
total smack down, done politely, Dan is the man, Colin brought this on by that immature rant, and Dan smacked him around like the boogie man, love this!!
Dig the Dapper Dan reference. I can't stand him at all. Jim Rome is annoying too. So is Skippy Dipshit, as well as Stephen Asswipe, the list goes on and on. When the subject of worthless no talent hacks is brought up there is simply not enough time to go over them all individually. We all know who the best ones were. We still listen to them even though they are no longer on "The Big Show."
I love how at 2:38 Dan reveals that Colin actually told him just days earlier that he was dropping an hour off his show because he was working too hard. How dumb is Colin to admit that to someone and then go on the radio and accuse that same person of not working hard enough a few days later? Really Colin? You didn't think Dan would bring that up and call out your hypocrisy?
“One day it’s going to be over and nobodies going to care” that’s a wake up call to a lot of people because it’s completely true. We can all be replaced expect for that .00001%. And if you have to tell everyone how great you are you’re not in that small %
From the well-known guys, Dan Patrick and Bill Simmons are the best in the business. I don't know anything about their work-ethnics and I don't care. Dan Patricks product is awesome. First Take is just about Mount Roushmore, who is greater than Jordan, lets talk about the Cowboys and boring running gags like those about Tim Tebow. CARRY ON DAN!
He did leave on his own. They terminated him two weeks early because he said bad words and soft people couldn't handle it. Now, to defend Dan's point, he didn't tell Colin to go to ESPN's biggest competitor, he challenged him to go on his own, which he did not do. He went to FS1 and pulled a LeBron, poached as many people as he could from ESPN, and then did the same show that everybody else was doing.
Funny to see this. DP has new and interesting topics every day. Colin talks about the dame five topics ad nauseam. If it weren't for Aaron Rodgers and LeBron James, Colin would have nothing to talk about it. That sounds lazy to me. DP is the best in the business and one of the few with a show worth listening to.
Dan Patrick, it's all good, when I was in the restitution center, I was allowed to get out on different jobs and most of the time I was the only white person around except for management and the other coworkers told me to stop working so hard. They said if management sees you working like that, they will expect all of us to work like you.
It’s really interesting reading all these comments after so much time has passed. I see a lot of the comments siding with Dan which is fine since I’m indifferent between the two. I like them both but people need to give Colin more credit for what he has achieved at Fox. Dan went on air and challenged him to leave espn just as Dan had done. Not only did he leave but he’s been far more successful at it than Dan was. Fox is a legitimate competitor to espn now and is taking a lot of their viewers. It’s a shame they don’t get along. Both are really good at what they do.
Dan is 10x better at interviewing, Colin is 10x better at monologuing. Dan's Monologue Prep Work Ethic = Colin's Interview Prep Work Ethic. Let's call it even.
Ok you didnt realize this but im not taking sides here because I dont watch either one. But I have seen Dan Patrick do interviews and he is uttlery inept. Ive also seen his cringy jokes bomb during the promotion segments of NFL Redzone. During halftime they would plug his show and let him attempt and akward 20 second joke with his team. It was embarrassing. I dont know Cowherd and can't speak for him but Dan Patrick sucks at his job. Just stating the facts
Lol. Prophetic. Patrick told Cowherd to leave ESPN and do what he's doing. Now Cowherd is gone from ESPN (he claims he quit and wasn't fired) and is on Fox.
+John Smith He already announced he was leaving weeks before they "fired" him. What he said did not warrant him losing his job. They "fired him a week before he was set to leave just so they could try to sully his name before we went to ESPNs chief competitor, Fox. So nice try douchebag.
Raidenx147 did you not read the guys comment above yours lol, he was already leaving and ESPN did him dirty to try and tarnish his name by cutting up audio and taking it out of context and then firing him when he was already on the way out. ESPN is a dumpster fire why you think so many people leaving
