Are Bass Eating All The Ducklings??? 

So nice to wake up to a bass fishing video on a Saturday morning! I start my senior year on Monday, this is helping me relax

Another banger video! Just got off the lake, fished from 5:30 to 8:30 in the yak. Caught a couple 3 pounders and a 5 pounder that pulled me for a good 100-120 feet out. Come home to a new NDYA video, what a GREAT DAY it has been. Thanks brotha'.

Again, I don't think it's so much the lure as how Matt presents it. It's all in his technique and throwing it with precision into "fishy" spots. This was a perfect day on the lake. Thanks Matt!

Poor little duckling! Yes...I know for a fact they are on the bass menu. Red wing black birds as well. Growing up my next door neighbor was taxidermist and back in the 70's before they had replica mounts I watched him clean hundreds of bass. If he found a lump in their stomachs he would always cut it open to show me what it was while I sitting there watching him. On several occasions he would find ducklings in there stomach. Sometimes the only thing left would be the bill and feet. Also found those small green water turtles in them. What surprising was he found a lot of bass inside a the bass he was cleaning and in most cases it would be a pretty good size bass. It is amazing just how big a bait will take down.

Thanks for never changing and always making quality enjoyable entertainment. We fish very similarly and can tell you also are very in tune with your waters, especially your regulars, like me you know what’s under every cast just from solely being out there in it! My river dries up to a small migrating channel in the winter months in NY so i live on the river and literally know what’s under every cast, and where to find them certain parts of the day and why

You need some autographed buttons with your picture on them to hand out when you release them. Some of their bass buddies will never believe they got to meet the one and only, world famous, NDYakAngler.

One of my favorite lakes is full of Pike and they take a buzzbait from me every couple of weeks lol. Cheers for another amazingly simple and perfect video. Legend.

Hi Matt I'm at the St Lawrence River for a few days, fished a little, spent more time untangling my reels than I did fishing. Still had fun! I've got one of those duck lures, gonna try it out on Largemouth Bass after it stops raining. Thanks again for your videos, they really make my day!

Congrats on a fine day of fishing! I must admit to some surprise as it seemed many, if not most of your strikes occurred within just a foot or two of where you cast this duck. This tells me you either had a great top water bite that day, or those fish REALLY like to munch on baby ducks! I like the way the duck ran up the line when you fought the fish. Kinda like the J-plugs were designed to do when bit. In this manner, it doesn't leave a lot of weight by the mouth of the fish and they aren't as prone to throw the hook when they jump. I always wondered why more top water baits weren't designed using this thought it mind.

My buddy caught a 5 pounder in a bush right on the shore. There were ducklings everywhere.

Man, some of those smashes are right when that lure hits the water or a second or two after. I am envious - I'm wishing that I could be out there doing the same.

I can't tell you how many times I thought I was in the Kayak with you, right in the middle of the action, however I bail out when the musky comes in the boat. That is one mean looking fish. Many times you can point out where you see the fish underwater - are those special sunglasses? and if so can you share the kind and style with me? Growing up in northern Ohio I fished a small farm pond with permission from the owner. For a small pond it would produce bass which were 3-4 lbs. One year a pair of mallards had their ducklings there, and the owner noticed some were missing. Since we were kids, he accused us of hurting them, which we had not. Shortly after this while I was fishing the ducklings were in shallow water and I saw a 2-3 pound largemouth try to eat one. It missed, but I was amazed it even attempted it.

Guess baby ducks are their favorite food!
