A look at two BiLT helmets I've purchased from Cycle Gear, one of which suffered a face plant onto pavement. The black one is a 'Blaze' model. The white one is a 'Raptor'. I have an oblong egg-shaped head that is difficult to find a proper fitting helmet. These two models worked well for me. The Blaze is slightly larger than the Raptor in a size large.
I had a true face-plant crash while wearing the Blaze and you can see how it held up in the video.
Prior to buying helmets I did extensive reading on how they are tested. Much of the information out there I think is intentionally written to confuse the consumer. The level of protection is not necessarily tied to cost of the helmet.
