YES YES YES. This is exactly why ive been wearing crocs for years now. I wore sandals for many years before that because shoe designers with their "arch support" soles ended up fuckign up my ankles too. Once I started walking on flat sole sandals every day, all my ankle problems went away, but i also noticed my toes were spread out properly and all my weird toe problems went away as well, from ingrown nails to painfully squished toes. But i would stub my toes sometimes in sandals and it would really suck. So i started wearing crocs when i noticed they had this actually intelligent Toe shape. and the best added bonus is that crocs just like rubber sandals can be washed constantly, you can just take them in the shower. and that has resulted in a massive reduction of bacteria in my shoes which completely ended a chronic athletes foot problem i had ever since i was a child. I havent had athletes foot is many many years now all because I can simply wash out my shoes whenever i want. Crocs are hands down the best shoes on this planet from an objectively intelligent perspective. the only real problem fashion wise is the conspicuous holes on the top of the crocs. If the company just put a thing mesh over the top of the shoe to hide the holes in the rubber, these shoes would be perfectly acceptable to basic modern fashion. Especially if you buy the style crocs ive been buying called: Off-Court style. take a look at them they look more like normal classic shoes. I absolutely love love love them. Gimme a thin mesh on the top to hide those unsightly croc holes, and i am a customer for LIFE
@@abdulaz1z899 "The Egyptian foot is characterized by a first toe that is larger than the others. It is found in 40.2% of the population The square foot or Roman foot where the first 4 toes are aligned. It is present in 9% of the population" in all cases the croc design makes more sense because while a greek foot can fit reasonably well int eh croc design, the egyptian foot (50% of feet) dont fit as easily in to the standard shoe because the standard shoe is still pointed toward the outer edge of the foot even compared to the Greek foot. and the roman foot it makes basically no difference at all. Therefore the croc design makes the most sense.
My son had to wear his crocs for an entire 41 mile backpacking trip. He brought them as camp shoes and only realized he forgot his hiking boots after we drove 2 hours to the trailhead. We weren’t sure the crocs (or his feet) would make it, but after a 5 day hike with lots of rain, water crossings, and a snowfield, he and the crocs were just fine. You can still call crocs idiot shoes though, since he was an idiot for forgetting his boots.
I had the regular crocs then got the echos last month way better they also drain better I used to wear my old one in the shower and they would hold alot of water and I would have to take them off to drain not with the new model
Back in the '70s they had these shoes called Earth Shoes. The toe box was shaped like the Crocs and the toes were higher off the ground than the heel. They sole was thickest near the ball of the foot and you would kind of rock in them when you walked. My Sister had a pair.
There was a time when i thought i would never wear a pair LOL!😂 Today, I loathe to wear anything else. So glad they expanded their line to include a variety of styles❤
In 2013 I went on a trip for five and a half months around the world. starting in new zealand with a pair of sandals and snickers. Two weeks later my feet were undone. In Hong Kong I bought my first pair of Crocs, I didn't know them before that. I won't take them off for the next five months. The best shoes/things you use in your feet I've worn so far. ps: the only pair of Italian shoes I have are blue Crocs pair
As a guy who cleans pools for a living, and thus spends large portions of his day standing ankle deep in water, crocs are basically my equivalent to a work boot.

I have a big toe and you are correct! I have to go 1 or 2 size up just so i feel comfortable. Today i more prefer buying slides and sandals for men because they are more freeing on the foot.
My biggest problem with crocs is walking on wet surfaces. They were originally supposed to be a water shoe but as soon as there's a wet surface I start sliding.
Ive been wearing the same crocs for almost a year and a half now and it’s pretty comfortable for my feet! my toes dont get squished but since im growing more im out growing them but aside from that crocs are pretty nice shoes
I love crocs so much. I Will never stop wearing them 😩. They’re so affordable for the quality and they’re not as ugly as people say they are (imo) they’re so comfy & convenient

They actually were used in the movie "Idiocracy" because the production thought nobody would wear these dumb shoes irl. Then crocs popularity blew up and the rest is history.
Came here knowing someone would post this. I don't wear them, I'm sure they probably are comfortable, but I just can't see myself ever wearing them. That said, your statement is 100% true.
A lot of hospital staff, here in Zambia, prefer to wear Crocs because they are comfortable to wear for very long hours. They are also much more quieter than regular shoes which helps staff walk around patients without disturbing them.

Crocs are the ugliest shoes but have some big positives at least wearing around the home: 1) They are comfortable to wear. 2) They're easy to put on and take off but they don't slip off. 3) They're cool in the summer but also surprisingly warm in the winter. The feet stay perfectly cool and fresh. 4) You can wash them and wipe them dry immediately so they're always clean. 5) They are silent when walking around if you need to be. 6) They last for years.
I don’t wear them cuz they’re ugly lol 😂 All my friends and family say “she would rather be uncomfortable or freeze to death than look bad 🙄😂” and it’s true lol
Crocs are disability friendly! They don’t have difficult closures, they still have a way to stay on your feet, they stop you from stubbing your toes too bad, they’re flat, they’re waterproof… there are so many things to love about them!
When the film Idiocracy was made, the director wanted to find a shoe for everyone to wear that looked both futuristic and completely ridiculous for anyone to choose to wear. They approached a small startup at the time called Crocs. The rest is history.
all you have to do is buy a wide toebox shoes I personally don’t like crocs just because the way they look they look weird, but I do like their design with the toes and stuff like that
Crocs are a hikers best friend. They weigh nothing and you can clip them to your pack so when you're in camp at the end of the day you have something comfy to put on.
Crocs are a hiker's best friend until something heavy falls on his foot, then he gets regular hiking shoes like a normal person and leaves his crocs for normal days.
@@saysikerightnow3914You must've missed the bit about wearing them at the end of the day in camp. Although crocs are a bit on the heavy side to be carrying around at about 16oz. Most minimalist footwear is lighter than that. Even Xero's boot options are all under 14oz, for comparison. My huarache sandals are only 6oz, and I would hike in them over anything else (my feet prefer freedom over safety 😂). No socks to get wet or sweaty, I can walk through water and they just dry out as I wear them, no smelly feet at the end of the day, and no tan lines 😂.
crocs are so comfortable and so versatile. it doesn’t matter if they get wet or dirty or if you’re on your monthly hike through the local swamp to get the herbs to cure your evil step sibling from the plague from your friendly swamp witch- crocs will be there for you every time.
Most heelys are also shaped like that + they’re fun so you’ll want to move more. You can still walk normally in them (though less so with the ones with multiple wheels), but if you want it to be easier or you have to walk in gravel or something wet for longer periods of time (gravel can get stuck in the wheels and water can make them rust earlier) you can just buy the ones where you can take the wheels out. Heelys are the best shoes fr
@@anthonyfletcher8053 They did not make my feet sweat more than other work shoes i had. However the lack of fabric prevents the sweat from being absorbed so after my shift there's always a tiny puddle in the front of the shoe where my toes don't reach.

@@ANewHandTouchesTheBeacon there are alot of people especially in the comments that are promoting shoes that prioritize fashion over function which is fine as long as they are honest about it, but of course people are misinformed or lie out of hate or greed.
As a kid I was like “what are those” but now “damn I can’t go out without this bad bois” I have chronic joint pain/swelling so walking with crocs is comfy
OK, they might be practical but they look mad ugly tho. I mean it looks crazy to use them outside in the city or in the office. I guess it's fine to wear them at home.
I bought a pair of used crocs at Platos for $10 about 7or8 years ago . The only time I don't wear them is when I'm working bc I have to have boots.. but Not only are they super comfortable they've lasted 7or8 years and still going.
Not only that but Crocs are amazing to have on hand at theme parks when it is raining or when you get absolutely soaked on a water ride! You throw them on and your feet wont be asking you to cut them off because they are airing out your feet! I wear fitness sandals every time i go because of this regardless of rain OR shine!
Getting shoes with a wide toebox CHANGED MY FLIPPIN LIFE. I actually started liking exercise because it was way easier because I could actually balance for once
Its useless for most ball kicking sports. You lose so much accuracy and u will 100% get clowned for wearing those big foot shits. Theres a reason elite athletes dont give a shit about this
People make fun of guys, usually older men for socks and sandals, cross, whatever. Comfort. Now, look at those idiots wearing near knee highs and these Addidas, Nike, shower gym slip on slippers. For some reason that is hip and cool.
Reminds me of my psychology professor in college. She always had Vibram 5 finger shoes and I asked her about it one day. She said she used to have back pain but not since she wore the shoes. Point is, shoes are supposed to be made for feet, not eyes.
Barefoot shoes helped me with back pain and knee discomfort I’d had since middle school. Now I forget that I used to even have back pain. All the while my feet, back and hips feel better than ever, my calves are stronger, and I’m waaaay less likely to get shin splints. I got barefoot shoes when I was 18, 3 years later I can’t go back lol. “Normal” shoes cause me physical discomfort and sometimes pain in less than an hour.
But they can be stylish and functional. Shoemakers need to catch up. I've heard Crocs aren't supportive and shouldn't be worn for long periods of time. So he misses that in his video. But the part about the toe bed is correct.
Still get yourself some good barefoot shoes. Your shoes will return to their natural position in time, that's the position they want to be in, and it will cure a lot of pain.
calling it "shoe-shaped" just shows how deep we've bought into that mess. check out the barefoot movement (or movement movement), it can you gradually get you out of this mess (before it gets even worse).
Foot shapes are different. Some people have their SECOND toe longer than the "big" toe. For those of us with short big toes, "standard" shoes with rounded, elongated or pointy toe box are actually comfier and easier to size, whereas the "anatomical" shoes with a toe box shaped for a longer big toe (asymmetric) - either make our longest second toe curl under, or feel stupidly oversized even 0.5 size up. So... it isn't about the "design flaws" - it is about finding the toe box SHAPE that is fits YOUR foot shape best :)
💯 My big toe and the next 3 toes are all the same height, then my pinky toes suddenly drop off about a full inch shorter. They don’t progressively get shorter like normal 😂
Conventional shoes are still way too narrow for your toes. And by the way, minimalist shoes come in different shapes as well, you can very much get foot shaped shoes that are right for you, even if you don't have dominant big toes. On top of that, they have many other advantages.
I wore croc bistros to work when I worked as a kitchen hand .. honestly slip resistant and I could come home at the end of my shift and chuck them in the shower and scrub them. You can’t do that with any other shoe .. they are super safe and hygienic in the kitchen environment. Would recommend them to anyone in hospitality that’s aloud to wear clogs.
They don't have the support for a normal shift for many people. Spend the quality money on a good pair of shoes, your future self will appreciate you more than you know
@@texaskeeton1772the old basic crocs maybe don't, but if you look into what croc actually has to offer nowadays, you'll notice there's tons of different ones, including ones that better support your feet and will allow you to properly work in them. Heck they even have running shoes! I have them cause I wanted some nice shoes for the summer that I could wear without socks. They're great and totally worth the money Edit: I just looked it up, there are even ones specifically made for working
You should thank the movie Idiocracy because the film directors told them selves we need a shoe that’s so stupid no person would actually wear these and I found this little company making crocs so then everybody in the movie would wear crocs, making them very popular
Crocs are comfortable if you don't have special foot needs, but my feet are too flexible in a bad way and wearing crocks makes my feet hurt because I don't get support where I need it. Unfortunately the shoes that make my feet feel best is an uglier looking shoe with an infinitely shittier name. The name Crocs at least sounds really cool and they have a fun aesthetic.
crocs really helped me going around when I injured my feet! it’s easy to wear and to take it off, it’s easy to clean, and ok it’s ugly but not everything has to be pretty, sometimes you only need something that is functional
Dude is 100% right! I got Peluva toe shoes a month or so ago and have been loving them. Its like wearing a second skin on your foot thats durable and lightly shock resistant. (Need to take it easy the first few weeks unless you have significan barefoot time experience)
Recently at picnic someone had commented on this guys sandals he mentioned he got them in Italy and went into great detail of the designers choice of leather and attention to the stitching that was done by artisans in Tuscany & I looked down at my mold injected Crocs from China with smug satisfaction. My one gripe is they shrink if you leave them in a hot for too long.
Even a decade ago, I have known people who say things like "you look stupid if you wear Crocs", and to this day some people hate on Crocs to the point where they won't be friends with people who wear them. People are a LOT more accepting of them today, but there are still a lot of Croc haters.
Ugh, same. I hardly ever wear shoes because it just feels like cramming my feet. Doesn't help that I have rather big feet (it's a size 36-38 in Brazilian sizes. I think that's 38-40 is European size and 7-8 in USA??? At least if the guide on the bottom of my shoes is to be believed) and they are not only naturally wide (thanks grandma's genes) but since I don't wear closed shoes often, they're not crammed in that odd shape people get from wearing shoes too often. Finding shoes that fit comfortably and are affordable is one hell of a nightmare. Unless it's a formal setting, I'm happy with my flip flops, thanks.
@@gabrielabatista6016 if you need a summer shoe, why not just buy moccasins? they will stretch, also comes with the benefits of not getting pebbles inside, being able to run if needed and not making a stupid flipping noise. flip-flops are beach/indoors shoes, period.
Instead of house slippers, I have house crocs. They help with pain in my back and flat feet. I am in my third trimester of pregnancy and it’s been great. They are easy to wash in the laundry, I love them!
I've owned more than a few crocs in my life and I've been the most comfortable in them. Unfortunately maybe it's just my walking style but I run through them way too quickly. The soles wear out really easily, they barely last me half a year. At my budget I had to adjust to buy slightly less comfortable shoes that lasted me longer.
Have you tried the off brands at Walmart, or literally any other store? I have a few pair of Crocs, but bought a couple of pairs of fleece lined Rugged Shark from Walmart for quick fall/winter trips to the mailbox, and to take the dog out, and they feel about the same. I don’t wear them enough to say how long they will last with regular use, but they might be worth a try. Also check out Ross, Marshals, Burlington Coat Factory, or Gabe’s if there’s any near you. They get them in, and they are half what the Croc store charges, so that could same you a few bucks. There’s a shoe brand ( Fila maybe) that makes exact copies also for a quarter of the price.
As someone who works long hours in the hospitals, crocs are lifesavers. Feet swell when you stand for long periods and hurt if you are wearing closed shoes. Crocs are loose and easy to take off hence very comfortable.
I remember when I got my first pair back when I was little, my dentist asked me where I got them because she'd never seen them, and loved the fun colours they came in! I'd say about half of the dentists I've seen wear them. Soft but not too squishy, enough room for standing a lot, and super easy to clean. That was the best part as a kid, instead of having to throw my shoes in the washing machine, or try and scrub them by hand, you just stick them under a hose and they're clean.
I'm 25 and have plantar fascitis in both of my feet. It got so bad I could barely walk. I went to a podiatrist who initially said I should buy a pair of Brooks. When I told him that those were out of budget for me and I desperately needed relief, he said "As ugly as they are, Crocs have great support, and can provide you some relief while you save up for Brooks." The first day I put them on, I was significantly better. Now I alternate with my Crocs and my Brooks.
I wear crocs almost exclusively now I have several colors. Absolutely adore them most comfortable shoe I’ve ever owned. Not sure I’ll buy anything else
I got nonslip work ones. They're waterproof and i work outside in Oregon. I don't care what people think about my dumb shoes but it's crazy how much they care, like anyone who cares that much is crazy
Before Crocs was a "Thing", years ago I had a pair in every color and wore them once I arrived at Work at a Healthcare Facility. Crocs were the most comfortable option for briefly walking around and sitting for extensive periods of time. Crocs were only $5, hanging on racks at the time. Now they sell for $50+☹️
Kinda like New Balance. Used to be my top choice of runners because they have a lot of running shoes that have enough room for wide footers like me. I could also afford to get a new pair every few months since they’re very affordable specially on clearance. Now all the hype thanks to the “influencers” drove the prices up yet even those who used to laugh at me for using “dad shoes” think they’re so chic they now have at least a pair or two.

They are also made for land and water so u can walk in water like washing em with a hose instead of a washing machine without them just getting wet and moldy

My podiatrist recommended crocs for recovery after surgery. They have arch support and lots of room for swelling. I still had to wear two sizes but I saved the larger ones for when the other foot gets done.
Arch support is like wearing a corset to keep your back upright. Sure, your back is technically straight, but you’re not exercising your natural ability to keep it straight. The arch in your foot is the result of a collection of muscles in your foot giving you suspension; by putting a bump under it, you’re preventing it from moving as it should, and preventing your muscles from working as they should. Like a corset, it might be necessary after a surgery, though.
@whengrapespop5728 that's great for you since you have no feet problems. You have made a lot of assuptions. I tried barefoot shoes and I still wear them in my yard abd a few other situations. If I wear them to do yard work I get foot cramps, neuroma pain, and charlie horses. Mowing is too much pushing on the ball of my foot. No amount of training my feet (decades of yoga, indoor climbing, barefoot hiking in maritime forrest, SUP, barefoot for weight training when at the climbing gym wgere uts ok other gyms prefer people wear shoes for safety) has changed that. I only wear traditional shoes for work in kitchens or concrete floors and mountous hiking since I don't have enough calouses to barefoot hike on rocky mountain trails. I wear minimal shoes on office days. The arch supports are nessisary when I get foit cramps or charlie horse. It means the muscles need a break. Even my garmin can tell by my hrv. It always says I'm poorly ready for training (which I ignore or there will never be training). My feet are training all the time.
@whengrapespop5728 I seriously hate Crocs, but they have purpose post surgery. The other foot will need to be done at some point, and Im hoping to tine it before I get neuroma in that foot. Right now, it its midfoot instability and bunion.

@@Piinkypanter I have almost the opposite problem, lol. I have gone through a few pairs of Xero sandals, and they usually have a bit too much toe box and are slightly too wide in the side connection points. The thong hole is also just slightly not right on the non-DIY models. This year I finally decided to try out their original DIY kit where you cut out your own custom shape from Vibram boot sole material and they are the best sandals I've ever worn. I slowly trimmed them down to be just the right size, and they only weigh about 88g each. I must have been their last customer for those kits, though. I was browsing their site yesterday and noticed that the only DIY option is their partially-done "feel-true" soles where you only have to trim the front down and punch the thong hole.
