Having started ggst recently, I was really bad obviously, having never played any non-platform fighters before ever. But for that 1/50 times that I did manage to get a win, and I see that end screen of Johnny looking at the camera after killing someone with his super, and that’s all the motivation I needed to keep playing
Bro Hotashi, I love watching your vids. I don't know if somebody told you this already but, you look and sound like IRL Cleaveland Brown from Family Guy. It makes listening and watching you more fascinating.
As much as i play this game i really should be better than i am, im pretty much stuck at floor 7. I go up and down occasionally but usually return to floor 7, i want to start maining jack o full time but its very difficult, maybe its because i split my time between multiple characters rather than commiting fully to one. Maybe this new character will be a fun puppet or setplay charachter i can get into
My first introduction to fighting games was MVC2, I played with my friend and it took me around 120 games to get my first win. It takes a lot of patience and determination for some.
To my Japanese ears the main male singer improved quite a bit in terms of how he places lyrics to melody of his song. In Xrd he either cuts off sentenes in jarring ways or put emphasis on words that don't make sense to me.
12:56 When I started GGST the closest I got to a fighting game was DS3 PvP so when I started I was total ass. I decided I didn't want to be ass anymore and did nothing but watch Sajam/Hotashi guides and tournament footage to learn what I was doing wrong, and ended going from floor 4 to floor 10 in around 2 weeks. So um thanks guys :>
I can tell you right now, I am probably considered “good”, but I’ve never felt like I’ve improved in the entire time I’ve played. It’s hard to stay motivated in the face of this (also the celestial challenge is wack, why can’t I get in if I win 4/6 games? Cringe. Floor 10.5 4 lyfe)
The tower is a bizarre place Haven't reached floor 10 yet unfortunately Still grinding though Most matches feel fair but sometimes people don't adapt Whenever I find a potemkin I feel the need to have a mirror match I just want to get my pot buster
Alright, I'm seeing the gunfire reborn in the library, absolutely based. So, after the council has seen your guilty gear strive ost playlist, we have decided to put a 100k World Dollar bounty on you and the previous statement will be revisited. You might have a good taste in games, but that doesn't mean you have a good taste overall.
Yo Hoashi I’d love a video explaining about why Elphelt is so bad. I’m with Elphelt how many people are with Johnny. I hear the sentiment that they’re bad, but I don’t understand it. I always watch someone cry about how downplayed Johnny is and think about how if I could sit them down and explain to them why he sucks theyd understand. I need that for Elphelt.
i personally think she's just i-no but worse very accessible high lows but there's so much counterplay that's hard for elphelt to deal with dp characters can reversal through her rekkas (between high lows, resets, or before she goes into it) and she doesn't do much damage either her only safe way into doing rekka is 5h and afaik rekka whiffs so you have to gamble with other strings like c.S 2s and 2h (2h can be thrown btw) her grenade toss is considered better but it can be jumped/air thrown outside of certain setups not to mention that for certain characters like goldlewis 6p is the god button on defense since catches rekka and grenade there's just so much counterplay for her and she doesn't have enough (easily accessible) counterplay or big strengths of her own to compensate
Title would have been more accurate as: "I can't adapt to a new mechanic so I'll make it my life mission to professionaly complain about it on multiple social media at the same time"
