Same type of situation with me my friend. I have no doubt she would have died. She is from CDO, I am moving in March 2025 there. I was just there from 10-21 Feb. Lots of pretty women in CDO. I'm seeing this more and more in Calbayog/Philippines in general. I'm sure it's getting rough in Dumaguete. I'm placing this on the fact of expats are making a real bad name for themselves. I've never seen a rougher crowd of individuals coming here and complaining, raising their voices and fighting. Embarrassing for the good expats. I never faced any troubles whatsoever meeting filipinas abroad first, from 2017 when i made my debut in SE Asia, and since been travelling in the country 4x in past 3y now. There are many instances of the "Traditional, Conservative" married to a foreigner who is away for several months, and what is she doing ? dating pinoys and/or other foreigners, and not letting them know she is married. Women are the same the world over, hypergamous. its just that some of these pinays can hide their infidelities better. Hubby comes home from working his arse off on an oil rig to his adoring, attentive wife, and is none the wiser (little does he know shes been getting it on like a lil hor-wa while he was away)

I was living in Bangkok before social media and it was completely off-the-hook fun going to a disco and dancing with girls who were interested in 'exotic' Western men. Now, foreigners in Thailand are a nothing commodity and with on-line dating apps, men and women have 10 second attention spans and even less inclination to commit to a dating relationship or romance. Social media is the OPPOSITE of social progress.

Because most of the stories coming out from those areas are being sugar-coated, but and of course things have changed throughout the years, the women are used to seeing lots foreigners but the difference is that they seem to be more choosey and will not pick just any foreigner like before. A Filipina friend of mine tells me she has become choosey and wants to meet foreigners who has a good appearance and show respect, which is something that most foreigners should take in account, there's still lots of single Filipinas out there 😊

Just like with anything else, the more there is of something the less valuable that it becomes. Now with so many foreigners living in the Philippines, we just aren’t as unique and exotic as we used to be 😂. On top of that, some of us don’t behave too well and the word is getting around.

Another part of the issue is a lot of the foreigners that travel there are very thirsty. Its not an attractive trait even in the Philippines. At the end of the day they are still women and respond positively or negatively by how you act just like women anywhere else in the world. You are right about getting out of the big cities. I had way more fun in a small city in Mindanao called Dipolog than I did in Cebu IT park. It wasn't even the company because I met my now fiance in Cebu then traveled to Dipolog so the company was the same. Don't get me wrong, Cebu IT park was beautiful, modern, and had about everything you could need but it just wasn't as relaxing. The people in the smaller cities just seem a lot more welcoming and your not just a passing face like in the big city.

Since arriving in PH 5 months ago, I have girls giggling at me, flat out asking if Im single, or if Im with another girl they will ask her "where did you find him, hook me up" "Sana all" etc. You have to remember that you're probably 10-12 years older than you were then. Same with Reekay who complained of the same thing. 99.9% of Philippines is still provincial outside of Manila.

How old are you, I'm curious? And what areas you are getting these reactions? I'm 36 but only been to Cebu City and BGC Manila. I did get a "sana all" at least once, and some girls holding eye contact when I'm alone-but not a ton of these things, just occasionally. But when I came to the Cebu south bus terminal and the people from the province arrived on an incoming bus, I felt like a lot of them were staring at me. So I'm kinda getting this sense like the biggest factor is that province vs big city distinction. It's almost like, just shock factor because these people rarely ever see non-Filipinos. But in the big city, of course they've already seen it many times.

Thank you for this video Gio. These kinds of videos are truly educational and VERY important for men to be able to watch even multiple times to try and be aware of these situations. I'm turning 50 in less than a month and have never travelled outside of America. Never married, no kids. Born in and have lived in Los Angeles my whole life. At this point after hearing what you are saying here has confirmed my suspicions for years that the Philippines is just not a big incentive anymore to want to travel to be able to get away from this God awful western fahmeenest personality here... and in LA, God dating sucks, BAD... even for doctors and lawyers, trust me. It seems like the Philippines has been rubbed raw by western men's tidal waving over and over again for decades trying to find a "traditional" relationship without the games. I have watched God knows how many videos here about dating in the Philippines and more and more it keeps getting to look more and more like men are expendable again because of the whole supply and demand thing. Personally I think there is also a very heavy element of so many simps going over there and not just spoiling them, enabling to complete look at men as human wallet way more that they would be. Just a theory. And I am absolutely NOT hating on that place, the people or culture. But what I am hearing for so long and especially with the way you articulated in this video, is that finding someone for a western man, finding someone who is NOT looking for you to be an ATM machine the second you step off the plane, AND someone who is going to stick with you past the romantic high stage is this huge endeavor that more and more men just don't want to deal with anymore. I can tell you this, it seems like the more and more men get burned, the more men go from being romantic to being just seggs tourists. There is only so much relationship misery a man can take before he realizes something must change. For here in LA, I was after Latinas for the longest time. Back in the late 90's, early to mid 2000's you could find a Latina who was new here and she would be very cool with being monogamous. Now, MOST are pure games and are just finding the fastest baby daddy they can find to produce a new American citizen, get child support, and get welfare.... and they just do not care actually about trying to build a life with someone. They don't care how a baby will be raised into an adult who does not have a dad... they just want to get as much finance as possible while riding the carrousel. I truly apologize for being a Debbie Downer but for God's sake, dude need to stop throwing truckloads of resources at them for very little if anything in return.

My friend here in Phoenix has been married to his wife since 2005. They met on Yahoo chat when that was the dating app. He said when he arrived in Manila his wife jumped the barrier at the airport to latch onto him before any Finipina approached him. He said he was getting all kind of looks back then. He ended up geting prostate cancer covering 95% and the had to cut it, and reattach it, leaving him with zero to work with in bed. He told her he would understand if she left. This was 8 years ago and she's still with him.

Gio; You were the first vlogger I viewed when I was contemplating relocation to the Philippines. This was during the pandemic. You were living in a condo, in what looked like a post-apocalyptic city. Just you and Paul having coffee. In 2023, I moved to the Philippines and set my sights on getting settled and maybe doing a little dating. What I observed, were men well into their late 50's and early 60's chasing after the women in the 18 to 30 age group! I didn't see much success other than to become a walking ATM. I focused on the 40 to 50 age group and had great success! There are many advantages to being realistic in your expectations! Mature Filipinas are like fine wine. My advice to ex-pats looking for a LTR is to put the ego in the pocket, and look at the many quality, loving, single, beautiful matured women.

I honestly think eventually every country will be westernized to a point. The Philippines is already heading that way that's why foreigners are not getting the looks they used to in my opinion. I was looking at retiring in the Philippines but 10 years from now it'll be even worse. So I've decided to stay in my home country and see if I can find a Filipino who's already in my country why go and find a westernized Filipina ? when I can find 1 right here

I go back a ways. First time there in 😊 1999 and several visits with last one being in 2016. I’ve been in the provinces and the cities. Social media, cp, more foreigners etc. No doubt things have changed. Province imo best way to go. I have been married 24 years to the same Filipina from Cebu. Planning to retire there soon. I agree 100%. 2015 was when I first met my Filipina girlfriend online and the beginning of 2016 was when I flew to Manila to meet her. I only saw two foreigners the entire time. Totally different world now. Now that everyone is doing online dating, someone better is only one click away, so why limit themselves to just one person and the serious dating scene is going downhill. I just saw an interview with a Filipina and she said she gets hit on 10 times at the bar each night.

In recent years, the amount of RU-vid vloggers with channels about the Philippines advertising how great the dating scene is for foreigners there has increased significantly the amount of guys going over looking for girls. The young Filipina who will probably be interested in an older expat would be one from the province as you mentioned because they are looking for one with some sense of financial stability no matter how old or how they look…that is why you see a lot of older expats with younger ladies…I don’t blame the young women but I also don’t blame the old expats because they probably wouldn’t be able to find a younger woman in their country especially if you are only living on SS or a very small pension..It is rare to find beautiful women who are financially independent in the Philippines with a much older expat … It all comes down to financial stability first with most of these women…and just maybe true love will actually evolve….Just my thoughts

I think foreigners are losing interest in the Philippines as well, and Filipinos as well. Speaking from experience, I couldn’t be happier with my move to Cambodia from the Philippines. Better cost of living, better housing not falling apart, better international food and nutritional food, better nightlife, better coffee, much much better dating scene and the girls are more independent and beautiful here. Also with social media and smart phones, the Philippines isn’t the only English speaking Asian country anymore. The younger generations are learning English FAST in every country. The rest of the world evolved and the Philippines is stuck in time. I also think another thing with smartphones being widely available, an average Filipina doesn’t need to date a foreigner in real life and deal with that hassle. They just chat online LDR and get money sent into their bank account. No need to date a foreigner in-person anymore. I think in 5 - 10 years when obesity takes over the Philippines, people will be in other countries looking for a beautiful kind loyal English speaking woman as a potential wife.

@@thelemonpepperdon Ive been living and working in Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines since 1997. I dont completely agree with all of his assessment. My daughter is almost 21 and is half US/ half Khmer while my son is 11 and half US/ half Filipino. Ive raised them as a single father so have quite a bit of dating experience in all 3 countries and beyond. I agree Cambodia has better value, better coffee, better intl food to an extent, but nightlife is not as good and dating can be more difficult. There is still a real lack of English competency in Cambodia, however I prefer the culture much MUCH more than Filipino culture. Filipino culture is truly ugly under the surface. I could write a book on how things have changed over the years, but best if you have time to explore the whole region.

As an older guy......If you take care of yourself (should be a habit), have some means (you should have money by now) and are a genuinely decent man (you should know life is more than sex by now) and who is willing to put in the effort and have patience (i.e. courtship) instead of using women like toys like you and the women thought was ok (but know better now).......you won't have any trouble anywhere on this earth finding a woman. ive lived on cebu since 2010 , the guys staying in the city and hooking up with pinays are meeting those with high body count . they have experienced foreigners who just come for fun and no longer take men serious so they tend to play the game and try to get what they can from a man until his vacation ends .the men coming for sex/vacation have left negative experience for the pinays they met and of course pinays tell others pinays so that makes them stereotype all men . yes body count matters , the more a pinay meets foreign men the more shes going to be negative and not trust men . if you come to philippines and find a woman thats a virgin or has only been with 1 or 2 men then she will be a good choice . if you coming just for fun then better to just stay in city and find one at bars , use dating apps , etc . i wish guys wouldnt play games with the good girls who really looking for a husband , it really hurts the next guy and also the woman . if you want just fun then you can find those girls easily , if you want a wife then get out of the city and take the time to develop a relationship with a good woman . this isnt difficult to do , just be honest with yourself and the woman as to what you really looking for . these girls that are inncocent and serious really do get hurt bad when they get used and it really does damage them mentally

Went all over Mindanao for 3 months before I found my fiancé. Stayed with her for a month and just went back to the USA to sell my house and retire probably by Malaybalay where it is cooler at 700 meters. I found 3 women that were wife material all in smaller towns Damilag, Tagum and Surallah. No luck in Iligan city, CDO or Davao.

1) I think there is a lot of good advice about Filipinas on vloggs and a lot of bad. The new wave of foreigners are listening to the bad. 2) It surprises me”younger” men in their 40s are surprised they don’t get the same attention when they are in their 50s, etc. It’s not that the Filipinas have changed, it’s that even Filipinas willing to date older men would prefer a younger man (in theory, just as you would prefer a 10 over a 7 if ordering out of an imaginary catalogue. 3) for older men, the most likely young women 18 and up interested in you will be from impoverished families. 4) even a younger woman attracted to your offer of financial and social stability will grow to love you for you if you treat them with love, kindness and respect. Dont fall for the stereotype they will be a submissive servant who will worship you and let you do anything you want. 5) finally - they want babies. Many old guys don’t want that, understandably, but you become less attractive the less you want kids.

Older men can still find poorer women in need in the provinces. Why just "foreigners"? If a local Filipino starts cold-approaching girls, they will respond the same way. Go to a department store, pretend to be shopping and give your number/Whatsapp/FB to the sales ladies. After you give it to some 20 ladies, you will get a date. Same with waitresses. Also, online, there are so many sites with Filipinas wanting to meet foreigners! A big %% are scammers or those looking for a meal ticket only, but you can weed thru them and you will find a nice GF. Hi Gio, I first visited the Philippines in 2002. I visited the larger cities and found that as a foreigner dating was extremely easy, with the local filipinas open to chat and meet up for dinner or a movie. Social media was almost invisible, so the lure of going to the Philippines was not there. No RU-vid, no dating sites, so I could walk around in many cities and not see foreign tourists. Now, with the social media explosion the Philippines has become a go-to country for expats to retire and find love. The local ladies in the major cities see foreign guys now as maybe the same as a filipino guy, not the new fresh lure as they were back when I first visited in 2002. Its interesting to see the changes over my 22 years of travelling to the Philippines. I also agree with yourself, get out of the major cities, explore smaller cities, and the provincences where you will meet just as beautiful and intelligent caring ladies as you would find in the major cities. Something I have learned over the years, and I consider myself very lucky when it comes to Filipinas. On line they ask for respect. What they mean is simply treat them like a real adult human being. They aren’t looking for hand outs ( scammers are) but the legit Filipinas simply want you to be honest respectful and willing to talk about real relationships. Be legit with them they will warm up to you quickly. Know what you are looking for. Don’t waste time with someone you don’t care for. Don’t ghost them, but tell them Goodluck with someone else. I will be heading to Pili (pop 100K) and Naga (pop 200k) in Camarines Sur, Bicol, on a work trip. How does this region stack up in terms of "still fresh" vs "played out"? With these small cities, I would be concerned that the girls might be reluctant to casually date a foreigner because of the Everyone Knows Everyone factor. A girl has to think about her reputation in the community. Often it is easier for girl to date in a larger centre where she can be more anonymous. How does this factor in? Keep in mind that I am just dating for fun, not for LTR or marriage.

Agree with you.i point it down to several reason. 1. There's heaps of foreigners looking for love in the Philippines now and the popularity decreases.2. There's a growing middle class and more filipinos are coming out of poverty.3. Some foreigners bring their baggage while coming over, forget to get themselves checked and lower the the sex appeal of foreigners. Gio, thanks again for telling the truth as it is today. Times have changed, I think, because social media spread the word and there are many more foreigners to choose from. Simple laws of supply and demand. Though still in demand, not as much. Any man should go into this with open eyes and a realistic expectation. For some men, it means they shouldn’t go at all: it isn’t like it was and for those who are less attractive overall, it isn’t going to go well for them.

Maybe because of the numbers of Expats now in the Philippines the expectations of what a desirable westerner has been raised. My advice is to up your game. If you are a smoker and drinker who does not care much for your own hygiene or health you can expect to meet a lower class of woman. Gone are the days of ladies having limited choices. These women watch what is going on around the world and are more aware of what a higher value man is now. Up your game!!! Be careful who you expend your energy on and reap the rewards. Still easier than the west...

Most Filipinas are NOT aggressive like American women. Most still expect courtship & the ones to be pursued so of course we, women, won’t approach men out of nowhere just bec. they’re foreigners. Maybe these foreigners are expecting us females to throw ourselves to them like women in the west? Sorry, most of us are NOT RAISED LIKE THAT. Majority are shy, cultured, reserved, conservative & religious too…❤❤❤❤

We're used to Filipinas making eye contact and smiling which shows interest. Now most just stare at their phone or not smile.

It's better when the women are aggressive and know what they want and educated. That's what it's like in Singapore, HK, South Korea as well. Also Mexico even. The whole courtship thing is outdated to be honest in most of world these days
