No Filipino has ever said that to begin with lol. It's pretty funny that Pacific Islanders assume that we want to be like you lol, which we do not at all. Im Filipino American and I know that I am Southeast Asian, its Pacific Islanders that deny their Asian roots lol. How did "Filipino" bones reach Oceania if they didn't venture out into the Pacific.

Although the "Ching Ching" is borderline r*cist, I think if you listen closely, I am not faulting anyone. I am saying the opposite actually. That all people are on the journey of self definition. The origin of the words - including Filipino - had nothing to do with the present day people. These terms were to distinguish and separate other peoples from the indigenous inhabitants of the islands. These are not our terms anyway - this language not our original language anyway - so call yourself what you want! just slow your roll on the Ching Ching - salamat!

That history, found everywhere, also does not hide that the borders, labels, and boundaries were imposed on us and not for our benefit. They had economic, political and sometimes purely greedy reasons for choosing the names, borders and boundaries.
