This video of his is such a shift from his 22 underrated games list, which was positive about so many modern games. I don't like how quickly most people throw around the word "grift" since it means "stuff I disagree with" to so many people, but this is almost without doubt a genuine grift. He tried it and saw a huge boost in views, and to someone who lacks integrity but likes attention those views are a beautiful thing.

I love RDR2. I would also like something from the other side. To play a game with a great script and a brilliantly written main heroine. Terrible generalizations this guy makes throughout much of the video. And that's why videos like yours are important because it's important to listen to different sides. ------------------------------ There's an inaccuracy here. He plays old games on his channel because back then they produced more strong male characters in games without any emphasis on sexuality or anything like that. However, from what I saw he played mostly American AAA games. He hasn't played Asian games that much probably so he had no idea that the strange appearance of men had already existed for a long time in Japanese culture in their video games. Then he started browsing indie games and judged them that they were colorful, referenced LGBT, etc. and games from old days were gone. In part, there are indeed indie games that use LGBT elements. It is possible to avoid such games. I think it's still a niche because something like that probably can't be the main core of the gameplay or storyline. That's not why a lot of people play games. But also indie games didn't exist when he was playing those American shooter games of the early 2000s. I know because I played games then too. It's just that a certain trend is emerging only in a new version (the stereotypical gays looked better in the 80s than the current ones but they always exist) and there's nothing strange about that. The gaming market is more developed now than it used to be and LGBT people are taking advantage of that. I respect all people regardless of what they believe in and what they are like, but I have never supported any organizations because such groups have always surprised me that they have to exist. Homosexuality is normal, it has existed since there have been mammals on this planet (or even before) and it should not be promoted by force. As long as it sells then games will be created. Guy basically tries to call Act Man a fence sitting fraud being paid off by Activision and “grifting” to the left, meanwhile Act Man stands there and is like “you’ve yee’d your last haw, brother!” In all seriousness, yes I believe there is a conversation to have in terms of the fine line between pandering and representation, but when people like Andy throw every single edgy buzzword into an “analysis,” it creates hilarious comedy given just how ridiculous and stupid it sounds.

Are Games Becoming "Too Gay "? Nah, its Devs that are raising rainbow flag, and recently they got really nice answer from gamers: sales went down. Try to blame customer that hes not fit for the product and youll automatically deserve only shiny middle finger.

In my opinion, I don't care if the game were a little feminine or rainbow, what I care was good writing of both the game's character and stories. Example: Undertale looks like a game filled with sunshine and rainbow until you explore the opposite route and how the other characters show their reactions were good too. Or High-fi Rush, an action and rhythm filled video game with a lot of diversity to the characters and is liked by many players because the gameplay is uniquely fun and the diversed characters doesn't feel forced to the player's throat. And some games do not need to change their game a lot. Like Black Myth Wukong, a soul-like game that is story-rich based on the tale of Sun Wukong do not need the woke shit because the game try to follow the existing written story and expand the number of people to know his story through video game.

Honestly, games have gotten a lot softer and “less masculine” but I think it’s a generational problem not a “gay” problem. We live in times where the most bare bones insult can offend anyone. I don’t think it’s impossible to write a masculine game with a gay female protagonist, they just need to make it a good character. It’s more of a cause of bad writing and not trying to get in trouble on the internet that causes a lot of games downfalls (also the crazy amounts of PTW or celebrity skins)

I feel like he had a decently true yet flawed opinion that I might have somewhat agreed with or at least understood that went up the wall with bullshit the moment he tried to explain it in a video. If its masculine, or if its LGBTQ+, the developers should not have to deal with hate for daring to make a game some random person doesnt like for F all reasons. The same is true for in the videos argument, where you have people being afraid to speak out because of usually a small fringe group being the loudest, and being the leaderships favorite (good luck fixing that, and its not only one way, it works in reverse to his argument as well). I can get behind a true equality here in terms of worker rights, as for games, personally that should be left to those who make the games. Who wants to make a game you dont care for? Wont be a good game im certain of that. And thats probably why some of the games are poorly made, you have employees who just dont feel connected to the game, and dont put in 100%, or rather they only put in 100%, they dont go above and beyond. Which is what ultimately makes a good game.

I can understand the argument but I disagree with the idea that "masculinity is dead". I've seen gay guys that are the epitome of masculinity in both body and personality, the idea that they are inherently feminine comes from idiots who have never interacted with enough to realize much like straight men and women, they each and all are different in their approaches to sex, personality, and life. If we're gonna talk about video games, not every game is going to have an Arthur Morgan and not every game should. Arthur is perfect for the setting and story he is presented in, but you can't swap in an equally "masculine" character like Alister from Dragon Age and assume the character is going to be beloved because they are both masculine. Even masculine appearing characters will often by necessity need to show non-"masculine" traits like crying which for some people is some destruction of their manhood by the idea that "men don't cry". I think there are video games pushing away from men overall or bashing men for the backwards idea of it being for "equality" to give the women more spotlight, but those are trend chasers who are falling out of favor fast like Concord. They can't maintain games when the political/socio-economic opinions change and the customers wallet looks towards other topics to support. Games that don't involve politics and political issues will always outlast those that do, and gender is no different. Games that push to shift the gender roles ultimately will never hold up over time, and companies will eventually and always fall into going back to what works rather than what is trendy, so the issue is one of passing rather than a new standard. I think the dude is just too sensitive in his own idea of masculinity to see that, and is just trying to vent in his original video. But that's just my assumption.

You might not stand the guy and the message he is trying to convey, you might even slander him as a grifter (and that's ok), but he's not wrong tho, every single "woke" game is flopping HARD left and right, and people are tired. Western developers prioritize activism over game quality, and that's hurting the industry and creativity as a whole. The other problem is that the insane and loud minority are solely being pandered to but still aren’t buying all the games. You are literally copying Hollywood’s stupid tactics of giving people something they didn’t even ask for. I will admit there is probably some brainless corporate overlords interfering with the creation of games that plays a factor in this problem too. It’s stupidly and needlessly over complicated. I mean, I feel games are different and not for the better, I just cannot put my finger on it. Not even joking. I do think the video has a point of games lacking grittiness, real struggle and immersive gameplay and story. I just do not know.

I was having a massive red pill stuffed in my throat. But now my perspective changed. I still don't like wokeness in games, movies, etc. But for me, woke only means: genderswap, race swap, making female characters better, by making male characters worse (like in She-Hulk, where all male characters were idiots) and also adding diversity to fictional worlds, that results in making those world, no longer interesting (like with the case of Rings of Power, for example). Things like women characters being perfect at everything, is more like a writing problem. I don't like overpowered male characters either (like all of Steven Seagal's roles). I'll also add that I avoid any media with lgbtq+ themes. Unless they're not that noticeable. And it's because (I do not intend to be mockery) I am neither of those letters. I am a straight white male, and media with those themes in the middle or a bit to the side, but still very noticeable, are just not for me. And it's because I am just not interested who someone likes to smooch or what they identify as. But I am not attacking anyone else for consuming those kinds of products, as I am me and other people are other people. Also by saying that I don't care about those stuff.
