There is only one formula to raise kids in Singapore. Spend less than you earn. If your salary cannot cover your expenses, then get an extra sideline (I held 3 jobs when I was younger). That is how I managed to raise 2 kids in Singapore and I am local and a senior citizen.
I knew Singapore is X-tra expensive but 2k +++ for tuition for kids and 3k +++ for private schools is just too much! And the government doesn’t know why the birthdate is so low? geeeeez I wonder why…

You should try church pre school nursery and kindergarten. My kids and one granddaughter went to church pre school and kindergarten. I think it was $300 per month . That was 10 years ago.
Hey, when did you move to my country ? For locals, school fees is not much (if you study in government schools) , school fees is costly if you go to private / international schools, The local , government schools have pretty good standards, so SG locals go to government schools.
Asian parent have different mindset, they always push their kid to go to famous private school, pay for extra tuition! study study study!! the kid grow up and become very educated and perhaps get in a big company! end of story and end of life! Will they be good citizen/children/human being when they become adult? that's not their goal for the kids!!
