I have both and will never spend the money for natural diamonds again. Try selling your natural diamonds and you will see they are worth half (maybe) what you buy them for.

The fact that resale value on even mined diamonds are so low ought to make you suspicious about why that's the case, and the moment you look into it, you start to realize certain companies have hoarded the supply in order to manipulate the market and keep prices artificially inflated, has nothing to do with your Diamonds being 50 percent less valuable, they haven't lost half of their value, the Diamond companies hoard supply in order to artificially inflate the price. Your Diamond was ALWAYS worth about what they'll pay you for it on resale.
i am a jeweller in singapore . i am trying to offload my naturals at cost price ...but 90% of time still lose to a lab grown . when clients see what they pay for a 0.5ct and yet can get a 1ct lab , they always choose lab . there is a war between lab & natural cutters going on . try doing this experiment ....when a seller rejects or admonishes u for looking for lab , walk away ....you know what happens ? he may follow u from behind and say ...excuse me sir , i also have lab . ( quietly ) . this happened to me alot of times at the Diamond fairs in thailand and hongkong . haha ....

I plan on passing down my jewelry to my children and it gives me a little peace of mind knowing if they are ever in a financial bind they’ll have a little something of value when I’m no longer on this planet.
How so? We would not be mining anymore which is good for the planet but the pollution caused by lab diamonds with green house gases is bad for the planet not to mention the energy needed to make just one lab diamond. Either way, both are not good for the planet, labs are at the end of the day just much cheaper to buy.

I can see using lab diamond in jewelry that we use daily without any significant meaning (necklace, earrings, even wedding band..). But an engagement ring should always use natural diamond. Even with 100% similar characteristic (which is not true atm), something existed for millions years is totally different from an object being 'grown' in the lab. Any self-respected bride should feel insulted if being proposed with a mass-produced stone.
Who will risk buying your LGD ring? The jeweler that sold it to you doesn’t want it. The pawn shop doesn’t want it. How much are you willing to lose, because jewelry insurance companies won’t pay 10% of the receipt that you used to get insurance. In 2022 an $11,000 LGD ring was bought and insured for $11,000. It was lost in 2023 and a claim was filed for $11,000, but the insurance company only paid $830

I got both. A real natural diamond but also a lab grown “dupe” to wear on the street in the city. If somebody tries to rob me, they can have the lab grown. I’ll throw it at them and run like hell. But don’t kid yourself, they are not the same. They look pretty close but I can tell the difference. Same pave band and setting but the cost difference makes the dupe a better idea to wear in this dangerous times but I’d never give up my real ring.
Lab diamond production is infinite, organic diamond production is finite. And, overall, be careful where you buy your jewelry, i.e., your organic diamonds.

That machine tests fluorescence and phosphorescence caused by trace minerals in the earth that are transferred to the diamond. Lab grown diamonds don’t always have them. I’m sure that they could be added if they really wanted to in order to completely duplicate those properties.
Ppl talk bad about LG diamonds as if mined diamonds come out of the ground shiny and brilliant 😅. Natural diamonds are also MAN MADE, natural diamonds are “processed” to become sellable. Has anyone ever seen an “unprocessed” natural diamond? They ugly and look like a regular rock 😅
your confusing investment with value. Having Value in a item like Jewlery is different than buying as an investment. Gold, silver gemstones retain value if not go up over time if you buy wisely its not an investment as selling/buying you lose on the manufacturing costs and mark up. Lab grown diamonds have near zero value in the long run. Just like a copy of a famous painting will also have almost zero value. At the end of the day when i see rings and jewels from people who inherited them from their grandparents, they have almost always gone up in value but the jewellery that had synthetics from 1910 syn spinel for example is now worthless but the natural rubies 50x value etc. there is costume jewellery and real jewellery which holds value

And? Diamond from the ground is the same as a diamond from the lab. Matter of fact, lab diamonds have zero inclusions. Only people here dissing labs are people such as jewelers and high retailers. The high over priced ground diamond days are numbered

That’s all fine and dandy till you want or need to sell it. Of course they both lose value but you will get pennies on the dollar for lab vs mined. I sold my 1.8ct vs2 K color marquise engagement ring for 6k back in the early 90s! That was a huge help for me after my divorce. If it was lab created I probably wouldn’t have been able to give it away. Moral of the story. If you’re going to get a lab grown diamond buy it used.
Really, what's the mystery of buying a lab diamond? sadly that's like buying a zirconia, no mystery, no history, no hardwork, no nothing..you can't really compare a lab grown diamond and a diamond formed over millions of years by mother earth..basic truth😊
I'm sorry but there is almost no market for a second-hand lab grown diamond. If you bought one you will be stucked with it. Ask the jeweller who sells it to you if he or she will buy it back from you should you get divorced and see what they say. Also pin down a price beforehand. Keep it real keep it natural i will not buy labgrown for my wife she deserves the best......
Look, let us assume that you have bought a 1ct diamond ring and you’ve paid about 8k dollar for it (maybe even 10k). And than you decide to sell it back to your jeweler. You will get about 60% back. That makes around $4.800. So you have lost $3.200 😅 And if you go for a lab diamond you will pay only $2000 for a 1ct ring. You can throw it in the garbage after your divorce 😂 and you will still have more money in your pocket, than after buying and selling a natural diamond! 💘

Because they understand that they can lost their leading positions on the market and their customers! If they won’t be following the growing demand for lab diamonds. We need diamonds not only for our jewelry, but also for industrial purposes.
