Used a Dyson Ball (corded) for five years. Then moved to the cheaper Miele (Classic C1 for under $300). WOW. There is really no comparison. I was a little hesitant about going back to bags, but to be honest, the bags last a really long time. Very first use I was blown away by how quiet the Miele is. I have very sensitive ears, and would use earplugs with the Dyson. No need for that now. My home is 75% hardwoods, and I always mop after vacuuming. This normally resulted in some pretty dark mop water. After one use with the Miele, my mop water was clean! I’m not saying I would drink it, but it was clear. Personal opinion, Dyson is marketing heavy and an ok to mediocre vacuum fetching a premium price. Go with the Miele and you will not regret it.
@@ArtsyCupcake I was a janitor for 27 years. I used bagged & bagless vacuum cleaners at work. Bagless are crap & I would never use bagless in my own home.
I've had a Miele Red Star for 20 years (or so) and it is still going strong. Only repair was replacing motor brushes which my husband did with no problem. I love this vacuum.
Fantastic job Maria. Stand your miele upright and on the back part of the machine u will see a slot where u can store ur wand and floor brush . Makes it so much easier to carry around .So there are actually two slots to store ur wand with floor brush. One spot as ur vacuuming and the other as ur carrying .
I've been using a Miele vacuum for 15 years. It is still going strong. With three dogs and three cats, vacuuming is essential and the Miele vacuum makes doing it a breeze. There is simply no comparison between Miele and other lines of vacuums. I have used shark, Hoover, Bissell, and they do not hold a candle to the Miele
You are so right, Danielle! My Miele vacuum is going strong and I love it. It is super gentle on the floors and think it will last a long time. Thanks for watching! 😊Maria
@@DMJ160 The Aerus are an older design when having a completely sealed system was not a market demand. They use paper bags which are not anywhere near a good as the Miele's fabric bags. The attachments for the Aerus are outdated and antiquated. Miele's attachments are made by Wessel Werk the best in the business. The top-of-the-line Aerus can be as much as $2500. Miele tops out at around $1500. Really the only people who buy Aerus now are collectors. The industry has moved on, the public now demands perfect filtration and Miele is by far the best in the business. check this particle test. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8f9Q74FFRVo.html
@@insertgoodname4809 at times you can find a synthetic bag for the canisters. However, I was referring to the Aerus Guardian Platinum. If I am correct? That is a sealed system. Either way, for the price and sealed system of Miele.... sounds like it's the way to go. Thank you for the input!
We just stayed for a week in a rental house in Pacific Grove, California. I like to leave such a place cleaner than we found it. We are lucky to be invited to stay there as the owner only lets family use the place. On the last day I found the Miele vacuum in the closet and cleaned the whole house with it. WOW! It was very quiet and powerful. I am now home and will order one today for my house. My 13 year old indoor kitty freaks out when I vacuum my house and he will disappear for a whole day. He's my good pal and I don't want him stressed out. Sometimes this place needs a snow shovel to clean the floors and it's getting that way now. I am pretty sure he won't freak out as much with the Miele being as quiet as it is. I read the comments and I'm happy to see that I'm not the only guy here! Thanks for the great review.
Love the versitility of this vacuum. I wondered how well the Dyson worked in comparison to a corded vacuum. Thank you for this review it was very informative and helpful.
I also have a Miele vacuum for the past nine years. We have a golden retriever and two cats and I have to say it is the absolute best for there hair. I have the s8 cat&dog. It came with the parquet brush big powerhead and mini turbo head. The mini is really awesome on the stairs and sofas. I would really recommend that attachment. But we moved home a couple years after getting the Miele with to a house with a central vacuum system it's also awesome so would now only use the Miele to deep clean the carpets. I would imagine the Miele would last a very long time yet. I do think they are well worth the money I don't know why we didn't get one much sooner. Would highly recommend it.
I am happy to hear you have been enjoying your Miele too! You really do get what you pay for when it comes to vacuums. I have no doubt we will have ours for years to come!
Yessss they are worth it! I was thoroughly impressed when I took mine home. I dusted my house in a fraction of the time and effort. My goodness I've been sleeping under a rock. Buy it!
I love that you let us know how to pronounce this properly! Thank you so much. Also... obviously, thank you for doing this review! Happy September 💞🎊💗🎉💖🤗
Happy September back to you, Dee! Lol, sometimes words come out funny with my slight Texas accent, but I heard someone pronounce Miele several years ago and it sounded right, so I stuck with it!!
Many of the Miele vacuums are now made in China, not Germany. The suction is strong and the motor quiet, but the bags are expensive- 4 bags are $29.99.
I checked local store and couldn't find miele or any canister ones so i ordered one online and got it today. So far i do like it though i ordered the basic one so the head i get isn't the best, so i got get a better on. But the vacuum is surprising. Its a shame canister vacuums arent sold in many of the stores in my area. Closest is few towns over and i don't feel like traveling all way to another town to get one lol
Check out and if the dusting attachment from a Rainbow can connect to a Miele. They are horse hair and come apart so you can clean it if you get it sticky or something ... kids.. Also check out SEBO vacuums
Too bad you can't use it as a back-pack for doing the stairs. I picked up a K-Mart vac someone had put out for a new home and it works like a charm, quiet, powerful (a slider to vary the suction) and the bags are cheap as chips. Others I have found have been dumped because the owners used them to vacuum garden leaves and clogged them, they have more money than sense. Over time I find it pays to flush the flexible hose.
Not all the Miele vacuum cleaners are made in Germany… Some of the machines are now being made in China. The motors are quiet and the suction is strong, but the bags are very expensive- a package of 4 is 29.99.. I easily use one every three weeks.
Hi! Thanks for your comment. I can't speak for dog hair, but for 2 cats, it picked up the hair really well and the bag didn't need to be changed any more than every 1-3 months. Hope that helps!
Hi Maria, I'd like to know if the Miele C1 Classic will work equally as well on hard wood floors and rugs, both wall to wall and area. Can you also tell me if I'll need to purchase a separate head for the rugs. Thank you, Nora
Hi Nora, it looks like the C1 Classic comes with a multi-purpose head for rugs and hard floors. I have the electric motor head that I use for my carpets. It rotates and really sucks up the dirt. I am not sure if the multi-purpose head that comes with the C1 would be enough for a really deep clean on the carpets. You can buy the electric or "turbo" head separately after the fact, if you weren't happy with the one it comes with.
Help! What am I doing wrong with my Miele vacuum cleaner? Mine drags and tugs when I’m pushing it back and forth and it doesn’t pick up hairs. It just pushes the hairs around. Suction seems weak. I want to like this vacuum cleaner but right now it’s frustrating me.
Hi Karla, have you checked for a clog? I have never had that problem with my Miele. It may be time to replace the bag and/or filters? I did have weak suction with my cordless Dyson and a filter change fixed the issue. Good luck!
@@ArtsyCupcake Wow really? That's a lot longer than I thought. Most of my house is hardwood flooring with only a couple of rooms being carpeted, so I'll be getting a RoboRock robo vaccuum to handle the majority of the duties there and use the Miele for deep carpet and rug cleans, and dusting only, so the bags should last even longer. Thanks!
Artsy Cupcake Hey Maria my Vacuum really Sucks but in a good way haha its a Royal Eminence and its the most Awesome unit I have ever used or purchased but its not quiet but it does clean super well and even gets edges most Vac's miss and doggie or cat hair has no chance. Anyways Luv Thanks for the Miele and Dyson report it was interesting and a great informative share . 😱✌
I bought a Miele and I love it went to a Miele dealer and everything was explained to me I also got to test them out in the store so i know what i am getting with my purchase so glad I did i bought the complete 3 powerline for 824.00 it was an investment well worth the cost it has alot of suction power and i love the vacume bags because there is no mess take one bag out put a new one in very easy ! and it is very quiet I can vacume at anytime because there is no noise to bother every one I can use it on my hardwood floors and carpet its so easy love this vacume
I have a Dyson v10 too for quick pickups, but the Miele is the one that keeps plugging along and I’ve had it for years. Sounds like your purchase went really well with great service!
