This is not about the gap, or position between drivers. This is about the sound between the bass and the instrument/vocal being separated. no matter parallel or serial driver position. Basically, place the speakers in a subwoofer position behind the main speakers. You will still hear clear music without interference because the bass and vocals are separated single driver will never beat the sound clarity of multidriver

That makes sense. I've seen some more dual driver earphones with a larger woofer in the back and smaller ones up front. They make sense to me. But the ones I've seen, with two identical drivers side by side, are just bs.

@@TheHopelessGeek bro identical driver for example 2DD doesn't mean they make same sound freq. 1DD for low freq + 1DD for high freq Generally use a combination double driver = 1DD low, 1BA high. or triple driver = 1DD low, 1BA mid, 1BA high and for 8 drivers = 1DD bass , 7BA for surround effect. I know the gap very short, but still has the effect

I meant identical as in same tuning, same unit. Yes, I've seen smaller and larger dynamic drivers behave differently. But it's hard for consumers to know the implementation based on the product marketing.

@@TheHopelessGeek it's not a matter of small or large DD sizes. but between single and double driver. The difference is very visible even though they are beginners. they will feel the vocal sound is clear even when the bass sounds loud

Yes, but tuning matters. One has to act as tweeter, the other as woofer. If both drivers act the same, it won't make a difference. I saw good results on the Mivi Superpods Dueto. There, one 6mm driver acts a s tweeter, and a 13mm acts as woofer. They sound very good

I never said I have engineering expertise. It didn't make sense to me how having two of the same (dynamic) drivers within such a small enclosure can enhance sound.

Call me crazy but i bout a cheap $50 pair of multiple driver iems. And a planar pair for $100, and there's clearly a big difference. The more drivers, the better. Since its like having small speakers that each represent an instrument playing at different times instead of 1 driver taking turns playing different frequencies. Or at least i can hear a difference.

if done right there's definitely a benefit, the different drivers can cover different frequencies better cuz theyll focus on only a specific band of frequencies. Though idk I haven't tried enough to say but maybe you should try some decent ones before saying they're a waste, I mean you said yourself when you did try them they sounded good.

I will say that some balanced armature implementations do make a slight difference for the top end. But most of these same driver sets aren't really anything great. Just for marketing 😅

@@TheHopelessGeek i'm no musician, but a radio technician and can definitely say that different types and sizes of drivers can be better suited for different frequencies. also i tried a lot of headphones and earbuds and there are benefits for sound quality on the top end frequencies from armature, especially in budget in ears, but for most people it is actually negligible. also headphones with 5, 6, 7, 8 drivers are generally marketing bullshit. 5.1 and 7.1 sound in headphones is ridiculous because it is not how spacial audio works

Exactly. Most people think that just having multiple of the same drivers is somehow better. Nope. They have to be specifically tuned to complement one another.

@@TheHopelessGeek saying that they are not better is not quite wrong but a bit misleading. they are definitely better but most people won't care or won't hear the difference. cheap IEMs with armature can sound almost as good as some pricier options and in most cases better than something with only dynamic drivers for the same price. but when you get out of budget price range the difference becomes very subtle. also other equipment has a huge role in sound quality, like DAC, amp etc.

While there are a lot of good multi driver IEM a lot in the market with R&D in Audio company We can try easily with our own ear This RU-vidr just post his theory without any proof 😂 This show that you don’t have knowledge enough and still dare to judge things you are not specialize

Driver tuning matters a lot. Just putting a bunch of them in a case doesn't automatically mean it gives better audio quality. I've tried a fair variety of them just as you suggested - "with our own ear." I never said I was a specialist. People can share their experiences freely without your consent, just as how you shared this comment.

Where do you get 24 bit 96 khz audio. Even most flac files are 16bit 44.1khz. You don't need a dac.

Driver implementation matter. For eg Thieaudio implements the best way.. You can try Hype 4 from Thieaudio or Monarch Mk2 from them..

@@TheHopelessGeek unless you didn't hear. They sound very good detailed without any masking. Few eg are Sennheiser Ie600 which is single DD. they perform a bit better than IE600. There are plenty which sound awful

Many multi-driver earphones don't have good implementation. So, it won't make a meaningful difference.

If it's a dynamic + balanced armature driver approach, it can make a difference at times. But I was mainly being sceptical about having multiple drivers just for the sake of marketing like some brands do😅
