A frequently asked question I get is:
Are odd shaped room's "better sounding" than square or rectangular rooms?
Which one is better for recording and/or listening?
In this video we discuss the differences and some of the various pros and cons of oddly shaped rooms verses square/rectangle rooms. We discuss how audio responds in each scenario, and how that might pertain to what you are doing.
Often times, getting "the best sound" for your space is subjective, situational and requires an individualized approach - in each situation.

Pretty sure this is the only video I need on this subject. I’m gonna get other people’s perspectives for completeness but I’m pretty sure I won’t be learning anything new. Anything more in-depth is probably not even really worth getting into. I’m going to make honeycomb-like booths with foam on the walls and bookshelves loaded with books in front of them. It will be a basement so the walls will be concrete and the interior walls between booths will be very dense and sound-isolating, either with concrete, bricks or layers of rubber and drywall. I’m also gonna put some 3in shaggy carpet on the ceiling :D

… There are a lot of theories that go into this… I have my specific thoughts on the “perfect room” shape but that’s based upon my “preferences” (and what I would be using the space for). I actually love the video concept however! ✍️ I’ll see if I can put something together on this - you guys make sure to subscribe - and I’ll see what we can do!✌️🧡

Thanks I needed this. I’ve been building a pentagon studio in my back yard with a lean to roof. This helped me feel more confident about it again. Haha

How'd it turn out? I'm currently planning something similar but was thinking hexagon with a lean to roof. Hadn't considered pentagon, just went straight the the other extreme of a circle... Good call!

OH LORD, let us know if you do a REW test. It may act as a circle and build up frequencies?? Interesting, good luck!
