Peacocks and Canaries have benifeted the most from this ability, while the most succeful parrot build is a bland white build with no colors, the players call it (cockatoo).
that's not really good for them though because more humans wants to add them to their party for that, causing their playerbase to dwindle for not being able to play with their friends.
@@belalabusultan5911 but while cockatoos are more “dull colored”, their color is still rare among birds. Also you’re forgetting the characteristical and charismatic trait: their crest.
Fun fact, there are a some Parakeets / Parrots living in Rome's parks. Apparently they were taken there as pets and when they were released they adapted and settled in the city's parks.
Thanks to their higher intelligence stats, parrots have unlocked one of the rarest and most powerful abilities in the game, which is otherwise only available to a small number of other players. That ability is the ability to say “Fuck”. Saying “Fuck” allows the parrot to deal heavy psychological damage to its opponents, and boosts its intimidation by a massive percentage.

In my city we have a zoo for birds, one time the parrots cage broke and now the whole country is filled with parrots. They are almost as common as pigeons
Surprised the kea wasn’t mentioned. It has all of the abilities of the typical parrot but has actually unlocked the carnivore and predator skill tree and invested points into it. They’ve even been known to attack shearwater chicks and even sheep. Unfortunately, human players did not take kindly to this though!
Keas have good PR in the forums but they're absolutely notorious with the devs in their server. Original attempts to gauge their balance level met with frustration because the players deliberately cheated on tests when they learned they were getting progressively more difficult. Another early-game quest involved a perspex box with six increasingly-complex solutions to gauge intelligence stat balance across avian builds, which Kea players immediately broke by finding a seventh and eighth solution.

It's easy to DPS a sheep. What the hell is a sheep going to do? Amusingly though, they'll try that shit with other quadrupeds, even apex predators introduced by humans. The result is as predictable as it is hilarious.
Extremely late but oh well. They've invested stats into size so their bite deals serious damage. They're protected from hunting, and they know it. They love to absolutely decimate rubber and cars. Keas are also very good at getting into cars and stealing all of your food. They're actually pretty funny birds. Although watch your shoes. They like destroying shoes.
Meanwhile, there's this gif where a pigeon ended up using the handrail of an escalator as a treadmill for like a full minute because it was too stupid to try and fly off.
Yeah, Pigeons have only arerage inteligence. If they work on city servers is either due to lack of other flying builds or because the SS tier human doesn't care about them.
Speaking as someone who owns a pigeon, I can tell you they are EXTREMELY intelligent and that that pigeon was probably playing, considering pigeons have been known to effectively use the subway in NYC, memorizing stops for the best foraging and what stops are close to home
@@rexybobo19 Pigeons are really good at orientation and spatial awareness. Outside of that, their intelligence cannot compare to parrots and corvids. They are really good at city life because they eat everything and have very good reflexes.
Pidgeons don't need to be smart if they can spec so much in to general effective survival tactics like reproduction and food efficiency, it just doesn't even matter lol. They are literally flying rats, their build is just insanely efficient in the current meta.
I felt you should have also mentioned that parrots ability to climb saves them so much energy as well. Flights takes a lot of energy to use, so they love to climb when they can to save on it.
I know that genetically and biochemically, humans have a totally different psychological reward system in place as opposed to birds, but even still, I have to imagine that on some level, figuring out how to scratch what is a probably an almost life-long itch with your own shed feather has to be unfathomably satisfying for that parrot.

"Nontoxic build like the parrot" Not too sure what you mean, mate, parrots are some of the most toxic players in the game unless you're in their party.
Always fun to start a new parrot run, growing up in a small cage owned by some human. Learn some things like talking from them and when old enough escaping through a window while screaming "EZ GG GIT GUT SCRUB".
if a parrot left my party like that, i wouldnt even be sad the thought of the parrot screaming this shit after beating another bird just makes me love life
Idk, corvids might have a shorter life span but having the ability to pass information to other corvid players, and even across generations, is very strong. If a generation of crows deem a specific human player a threat later generations will still remember and continue to view that specific player as a threat even though all the players from the generation before have left the game. PBS Nova did a great episode on it.
I have had parrots in my party for the entirety of my gameplay so far, and let me tell you, they are the best companions you can have! Very smart, sociable, and they can adapt to ANY situation they're in! Of course, stats vary slightly per species, but overall it's a great addition to your team. Once you know how to work with them they're the best
Problem is that I don’t know if anyone would be able to guarantee a continuously stable living situation for the entirety of the parrot’s 70+ year lifespan.
@@rubyy.7374 I currently have one parrot in my party that's about to turn 10 years old, and has a life expectancy of 15-20 years. Had him with me since he was only months old. So it is possible ;)
@@rubyy.7374 I mean... you could always die in a horrible car accident next week, or be squashed by a piano falling off a crane. So, no matter what the lifespan of your pet is, you can never guarantee to be able to provide life-long stability for them. But sure, getting a long-lived parrot is quite a bit more of a long-term responsibility than getting a pet rat, so it definitely shouldn't be done willy-nilly without thinking it through.
Not a bad pet if you can ensure the high needs are met. Need to dedicate the time for socialization, entertainment, etc of a high intelligence pet. Plus the longevity is a factor most forget. For dedicated owners, they're great. For the average pet owner, parrots are some of the worst. Not enough socialization can cause them to go insane or develop psychological problems. Neglect is a common problem for house parrots. Then the long life makes the owner eventually give them up to a parrot sanctuary or something. Great familiars with a good human. But humans let them down too often to recommend

A while ago, we had some Quaker parrots in our neighborhood. Nothing out of the ordinary, besides being annoying due to their loud and frequent calls. Almost, 1-2 years later there is a few flocks in our and the surrounding areas. It really shows the adaptation of parrots.
Oh god Quaker parrots...vietnam flashbacks. My mom adopted one when I was a kid and it wouldn't allow her to make or take phone calls, he'd throw a bitch fit then say "Thank you" with a sarcastic lilt after she hung up. He learned my name quick...just so he could call me over to him, where he'd attempt to strike me. Luckily it never worked because I knew that fucker was evil from day one. Learned quick why the previous team leader kicked him from their party. Griefer.
My Neighboor had a Red Macaw pet on his small farmstead, he raised since it was a small birb, and it was free to roam on the farms' trees, you could spot her from really far, it was always around, at the end of the day she would call, and damn, that was loud! My Neighboor died some years ago, his nickname was "Old Pipe" or "Mr. Pipe" (Because he was always smoking a pipe), his Macaw lived for quite a few years under the cares of his son, and passed away gracefully, leaving us all in the neighborhood with that memories of Mr. Pipe and his Red Macaw. Cheers from Brazil.
Anyone remember how in Paulie, he spent the whole movie trying to find Marie? Well, that's how I want my future wife to be. I want her to be looking for me right now and to find me and say she spent years looking for me, and for her to be really hot too.
@@floo1465 lol do YOU really have a parrot? Cause I do and parrots don't scream at the middle of the night unless something spooked them maybe you should treat yours better cause that is not normal
Parrots are top-tier party members for the rare human who can properly care for them. Their ability to communicate with humans and bright coloration provide morale boosts, and can even provide humans with charisma boosts, which is a big help for the main questline. Taking a parrot into your party is a big commitment, though. Because of their intelligence playstyle and social nature, they need a ton of interaction and stimulation, and their 50+ year lifespans make them a long-term commitment.
I have an umbrella cockatoo. Large white cockatoos are the loudest birds in the world. I always thought she was loud as fuck, but I had no idea. No idea. One day my elderly mother fell and the only one in the room was my cockatoo. She decided to scream for help at her true maximum volume. Sweet Jesus. When I got in there, it was like an air raid siren. You couldn't even think, you just reacted, did whatever you could to stop the ear-shattering scream.
"As loud as a gunshot" Yeah...Had my Scarlet on my shoulder this past afternoon as he alerted me that there was a squirrel sitting on the chair placed on the deck. That will make the ear ring for a few minutes.
Right? I've got an umbrella cockatoo. Full size white cockatoos are the the loudest birds in the world, with a mollucan once hitting 135dB (that's over twice as loud as the world record loudest human scream). When she screams for fun, you can hear it anywhere in the house. I thought I'd heard her at full volume. I was wrong. One day my elderly mother was with her, and she fell and hurt herself. The 'too was smart enough to realize she needed help, so she screamed for help at max power. Sweet Christ. It was, without exaggeration, like an air raid siren. You don't even think about what you're doing, you just go on autopilot to try and stop the brainmelting screech.
@@Veladus that 135 dB cockatoo scream has never actually been measured. Just something that's quoted on the internet. The loudest bird in the world is the white bellbird at 125dB.
@@ojutay8375 Man, people need to learn to read. The white bellbird has the loudest bird CALL. CALL. Multiple types of parrots, not just cockatoos, are louder than white bellbirds. Some of those evolutionary failures in New Zealand, too. *CALL*. Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall. The parrots aren't making a call, they're just fucking screaming because they find it fun. As for the legitimacy of the claim, I believe the San Diego Zoo (who made it) infinitely more than I do people who stop reading sentences halfway through like everyone who misquotes the white bellbird thing.
As someone who has studied parrots in the wild. You would be shocked by their “stealth”. In heavy vegetation, you can be looking for them or maybe coming upon 1-2 of them slowly to get a good photo… and one you never saw or heard in a neighboring tree will cry out and give away you’re position… then they all fly off. “Clever girl…”
Even my colourful Rainbow Lorikeet can hide in plain sight by staying motionless and quiet. Sometimes I will be looking and looking for him but I don't notice were he is until he moves or makes a sound.
I have a Friend who's a Parrot Main I completely disagree with you, Why? Yes it's kinda true they troll but as a Human Main I love them because they're cute and adorable, plus I can train them so they won't troll me in the Morning especially crapping on my bed.
I own a parrot and I tottally agree. One small issue: Some birbs are green making their stealth level rather high as they can blend in with some leaves
@@Mike-kl3mo FYI the guy in that clip is actually a worker at a wildlife rehabilitation center, moving the parrot our of its cage so it can be brought back into the wild :)
@@TierZoo But the fact that you mentioned (The fact that human players take em for unreasonable reasons) is kind of depressing. Maybe we'll evolve to a better class.
In Cologne, Germany, some parrots actually managed to break out of the zoo two years ago. Human players were not able to recatch them, so they have bred until Cologne has become their main server. People are very happy about it. Another Fun Fact: An alligator named Saturn broke out of the zoo during WWII in Berlin and managed to survive through the war for three years. It was found by Russians, who brought it to Russia. It died there on Saturday, the 16th of May in 2020 with an age of 84 years.
it might not be the most optimised parrot build, but my favourite is the caique build. absolutely adorable. theyre also one of the smarter parrots. and they have beefy legs and bodies, and tiny wings and tails.
I have two Budgie class in my party, and two Cockatiel class joining soon. I can confirm that Parrot classes, even the small ones, can produce stunning loud noises, extra effective in small enclosed spaces. They also have amazing Crush power for their small size, with Budgie class the females are extra OP in beak strength.
The tact the he documents the animals as if it were a game interests me more. He’s not using fancy words, he’s using stats and attack names and effects. I love it!
Finish the Quest Till middle school then start leveling up you skills outside off school the end Game school Quest rewards are pretty good but demand insane time and Money Investment and even then its Not guaranteed that you get something out of it
My parrot party member was named Beethoven. We met in 2011. He was a cockatiel, member of the cockatoo subgroup, specific designation Nymphicus hollandicus, and he definitely had the highest charisma stat of any animal build I've encountered before or since. He was essential in curing my depression debuff, and he was also incredible at talking to, grooming, and playing with his human flock. He got a game over in November of 2019 and I still miss him every day.
In my childhood, I had a friend that had a parrot. His mother was always yelling his name at him from downstairs in a very large and open house, so it echoed across the entirety of it. My friend would just shout back "WHAT?" to see if he's in trouble or if she's just checking in on him or calling him for breakfast/lunch/dinner or a favour. The parrot started yelling "WHAT?" whenever my friend's name was spoke. His parents started using the nickname he had from school to address him for about a year to avoid the parrot yelling, and quit the yelling at their kid across a huge house to talk to eachother.
I’ve been getting these videos in my recommended for a while and finally decided to watch one today. I’m so glad I did. As an avid gamer (tank main) and ARA, this is amazing. You have my sub.
I wonder if brighter colours could also lead to higher intelligence? being unable to rely on pure stealth or defense could force a player to use their cunning instead, meaning the less cunning players die out and the more cunning players pass their techniques into the meta
Sadly the Pirate profession isnt played as much at it was a few patches ago. Now the "Navy" or "Marine" profession are pretty good, but they dont use Parrot mains as help.
Exactly. The community-moderated restrictions in human-dominated submetas have made it virtually impossible for human mains to pick up the Pirate profession.
@@pranavlimaye It's a good balance patch as not too long ago they were an extremely dominant S tier build that beat nearly every other sea faring build in the game. It's the same now that we have dominant Navy builds but, it's a change of pace that most everyone will agree is a more enjoyable gameplay experience now.
@@pranavlimaye I think you're playing on an outdated server. In recent patches, the pirate class has been updated to allow the use of world wide web information-tech, and the pirate with companion pet is back in the meta.
@@piteoswaldo they mean the sea-faring type not the www type.Theyre different buıilds. The sea-faring type still sees use in the Horn of Africa server by the way. Especially the area in-game known as "Somalia"
Now this is an interesting point "A good top tier should be specced to thrive in one setting but can adapt to changes in the meta" I find this interesting because most humans or horribly ill equiped to handle any biome except city. Throw a human without the proper wilderness survival perks or gear into the wrong server? And they game over in days or get rescued. In fact I'd argue that they are horrible at adapting to any biome other than city, but as a species have the unique combination of traits to simply build new biomes over pre existing ones. A good top tier adapts to new environments A great top tier literally builds their own.
Would love to see a tier list on flightless birds, feel like that’s a niche with a lot of really strong guilds/players but has sort of flown under the radar (no pun intended)
The ratites are generally good as their terrestrial MBL allows them to escape most threats (unless it’s in an ambush or facing a MBL-focused build like the cheetah).
Asdfgh Zxcvbn No, neither of them would be god tier, as tier zoo has already partially covered them before in this video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nwx8hP_nIn0.html) 1:30-2:25 talks about how the flightless bird build gets bodied left and right from middle and even low tier builds. 3:00-3:15 expresses disbelief that the Emu war is a victory for the Emu’s, when the numbers clearly show its a one-sided massacre in favour of the human mains.
kevin rianto Tierzoo is wrong about ratites being bodied by low-tier builds (he wrongly ranked cheetahs as low-tier due to failing to realize that cheetahs don’t actually lose that much XP to theft and don’t use that much energy either; pretty much everything that can take on an ostrich, emu or cassowary is a mid-to-high tier build).
This is the first video I've seen from you. We already have a couple small parrots (green cheek conures) at home that my kids love, but this will also be extremely awesome at getting my 8-yr-old son's attention (who is obsessed with Minecraft and ALREADY loves studying animals). Kudos dude. If you did a further breakdown of different parrot species, that would be amazing. I'm going to have to consider becoming a patron.
It's really funny though because I saw rainbow lorikeets and I can confirm those fuckers are so easy to miss when you look for them. Being rainbow might be the only thing that's stopping them from taking over the goddamn world.
Since I live in Central America (Nicaragua) I can see like 4 species of parrots just by going outside my house.. Trust me you won't want to hear 20 parrots screaming for 2 hours ahahaha Edit : 4:16 I have seen that match up many times parrots usually win. 😂 😂
Fun fact: There used to be a parrot native to the Southeastern and midwest United States called the Carolina Parakeet or Carolina Conure. They were bright yellow, green, and orange, and looked a lot like a cross between a sun conure and a janday conure. (Except it had a white bill.) They could be found in Tennessee, New York, and other southeastern states, as well as in some western states. They went extinct in the late 1930's, though nobody knows the real reason. They were, however, hunted for their feathers, and because they were destructive to crops. Just imagine how cool it would be if they were still alive though. Unrelated to the video, but I just learned about these birds, and I'm quite sad they're no longer around. D:
