"Basically a roasting" hahahah, that's exactly how I felt when I did the Big 5... got 0th percentile for extraversion, an unbeatable result.

I absolutely love taking personality tests and this video was super fun to watch. Your personality is greaaat (even if the big 5 personality test attacked it lmao).

I always thought those personality tests sounded a little like horoscopes - sounds pretty similar on your video! Had a fun weekend watching all of these!

MBTI isn't hard to manipulate (at least to some extent) if you have taken it more than once and have a reasonable idea of how it works. I have taken it 3 or 4 times, in different contexts, and consistently come out as INTP . It would be a lot of work to change that to something entirely different, but the last time that I took it I did succeed in accentuating some aspects of it - I would naturally tend to score quite high in the "I" direction and very high in the "P" direction so it wasn't difficult to answer a few of the "borderline" questions in a way that would push me to the very extreme ends of those two categories (and I succeeded in doing that). I think that MBTI can be misused, and I certainly agree that the descriptions of the various types read a little but like horoscopes where everyone can pick up on something that they relate to. Where I did find it useful, in a group setting, was as a starting point for both greater self awareness and understanding at other people - in particular I started to understand why some people (xxTJ's I am looking at you) have a compulsive need to make lists of things to do and check items off as they are done.

I love projectives for this reason. Are we necessarily the best judges of our own character?

What I personally observed is that people without a background in psychology tend to really like the MBTI, mainly because it sort of gives a vivid character description rather than listing solid core traits like agreeableness, extroversion and conscientiousness. I personally happen to think ''my MBTI type'' really sounds like me but I would clearly class it as pseudoscience. It is based on old concepts that have significantly changed their meaning over time, especially the extroversion, which makes it highly unreliable, and there are studies to confirm this. Just as an example, when taking the Big-5, I always score over 70 on extroversion (have been since I've first done it more than 10 years ago), but on the MBTI (again, cute and fun but not a scientific instrument) I tend to get 51-57% introverted (took it 3-4 times over the course of 2 years)

I've had some curiosities about these personality type tests, specifically if certain disorder may effect the personality test results? e.g people who have depression/anxiety, or even neurobiological disoders like ADHD. People with depression may socialise less but does that mean their personality is like that? People with ADHD tend to have very jumpy thoughts and are known to be creative while very easily to be influenced by the external enviroment, does that also relate to the personalities? Lots of questions such as tidying up rooms and empathy levels theses also often relate to different abilities which is influenced by different disorders. Just having some thought on this, hope you can share your thoughts on this! ☺

I think you got low & high accidentally swapped at 5:22 for neuroticism :) Also I think low agreeableness is not really about being more rational or critical, but having more selfish behaviour and less empathy :) Edit: I saw you corrected it later in the video :D
