Great tests. I still wonder why makita didn't spend 1 Euro extra and adding a button on the charger which changes between slow and fast charging. In most cases it is not needed to load fast. If there is time, user can select slow charge. I hope they will have it on one day in future.

Hi. Can you do a video about maximum charging speeds at different battery SOH and temperatures. DC18RC mostly, the most popular charger. I've noticed it does not charge et maximum speed...and pretty often.

So. Again. if we charge BL1850 with DC18SD vs DC18RC. What happens with temperatures? If we start from room temp and if we start hot (after heavy use, for example leaf blower). Does SD wait? Does it slow down if hot? I often have possibility to charge overnight. Does it keep battery cooler when slow charging ?

The normal charger is the DC40RC (in the EU) so not sure why the "R" in red and meant to be the indication for fast charging? Also, just seen that there is a dual fast charger already available. Keep up the good work! Waiting for the impact wrench ;) Please talk about the C ring vs pin detent as I can not decide which one to go for.

@@SammyInnit DC40RC normal charger, DC40RA is the rapid so R is not for rapid.

the fast charger will increase the temperature of the cores of the 10 cells at a greater rate than a slow charger would, irrespective of how much cool air is blown through the battery pack by the charger that is cooling the outsides of the 10 cells. it seems that most types of batteries last longer when charged slowly. i dont use my fast charger anymore after scoring 2 slow chargers.
