another great video tom. i went out today, no bites. but did get to use my bait station, its much easier to prep bait , especially with 3 hook flappers .
Thanks mate, some awesome advise and tips for us novice anglers. Always fond your videos really helpful, amd always tey to take something from them. Cheers buddy 👍👍🎣🎣
Hi tom rays might be easy to catch but you make look super easy I enjoy watching your video's always a bit of interaction and banter stay safe & tight lines
Enjoyed that. We only get undulates, small eye and blondes here in jersey. Be nice to get into some others but that would 1 in a mill. Great video tho enjoyed that chucked you a sub 😊
After my nightmare at Swanage on Friday I blanked at Southbourne on Saturday mate, drove back to Kent with two species for two days fishing. Absolutely fuming mate 😂😂
Ah mate, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. We went from excellent fishing, to dead quiet, almost over night! The trials and tribulations of sea fishing hey!
Good video again, very enjoyable, especially the dig at the pulley pennel rig, beloved by so many yet a waste of time to me for clean ground fishing and not convinced by the supposed benefits over rough ground. By coincidence, we have spent the last two days staying between Boscombe and Bournemouth piers and noted two larger commercial boats and one beach launched rowing boat laying nets down quite close to the beach, are they targeting spiders or are they actually aiming to catch the rays you were trying to catch please? On a different note, the two guys in your shop this morning were very helpful, top team👏👏
Hi mate. The larger boats are usually targeting the flatfish, especially sole. They equate to a large proportion of their income around here. The row boat guy has been there for decades, lovely to see. I suspect bass, mullet, herring etc are on the cards at the moment.
Hi Glen, we're out of stock at the moment. Simply haven't been able to keep up with demand on those! I'll try and get some made up over the next couple of days.
That's a long way to go for a blank :-( We've all been there though mate. Blanks are part of fishing sometimes, sadly. Don't get too hung up on state of tide, it's more about getting the conditions right. The classic "after a blow" is always a good one.
Hi mate. Shimano Bull's Eyes mate. Absolute work horse of a reel. Mine are many years old now, have been all over the world with me, I use them all the time (I fish a LOT!) and they're still going strong! Line is 0.26 Asso Tapered Line on one and 0.25 Tronixpro Blaze on the other.
Thank the lord Tom. Your video landed just moments after the mother-in-law did. I’m going to make my excuses and find a quiet corner in the garage until she has gone. She’s sadly going to be here longer than 11m 54s, so if you have another video in the background, a best of, bloopers or something you want to do a little more polishing on,…. Forget the polishing and drop it now please, my need is great 👍🏻 tight lines
Great video mate. Quick question, why not Pulley Pennels? I wouldn’t use a pennel when I’m after Rays, but do use a pulley. Should I be doing something different or can you advise on a different rig?
I really have no faith in pulley rigs for things like rays. Or most things really! I appreciate they work well when fishing over snaggy ground to lift the lead and avoid losing gear, but using them on clean ground venues isn't for me! I'd rather a flapper or a Bagnall Bar any day of the week.
