I would have to disagree. Sure, if you're playing a CQB game, sights might be a waste of time. However, games played over larger areas and time frames often require a more measured approach where the accuracy of first shot matters over a distance significantly greater than typical rushed cqb game. I would suggest sights really can make a difference here.
Obviously you haven't been playing this game for very long. Or you are playing with a gun that is incredibly crappy that nothing but a new gun would fix it. You are completely in the wrong here. A well aimed red dot sight works very well for airsoft. I have had many experiences where I had to hit the opposing player in the first or second shot or be shot myself. Had I followed your idea (which I assume is walking your BBs onto the target) then I would have lost those engagements. For people to make these blanket type statement such as yours makes it incredibly obvious you don't know what you are talking about.
We are brand noobs and I prefer the red dot to the iron sight. I don't usually need it for closer targets, but find it super useful for longer ranges. Also, I have taken your advice on shooting with both eyes open. It definitely has improved both my aiming and my range of sight!! AWESOME TIP👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💥🔥 THANKS
Great video and I run a red dot on my M4. But I would add one other con to RDS is the obstruction of the sight housing itself when scanning downrange for targets. Overall though, RDS is the way to go especially if you play semi only. Magnified scopes are a different story for sniper rifles.
Same i use dots and lpvo's but i always keep irons and use them to line up the dots and flip them down and if my optic get shot flip up the irons and keep shooting
Just got my first red dot. Now to zero! You guys should put together a video on zeroing if you have the chance, it would be much appreciated!! Killer work boys!
I've been rocking a TM based Long L119A1 for the last few years and I keep finding myself using it barebones with just the diemaco carry handle/rear sight. I mostly watch where the BBs are going
as paintballer i prefer red dots in airsoft. in paintball i dont need em but as distances are greater in airsoft it is beneficial to improve accuracy on first shot. Due to distance differance it takes longer time to correct aim in airsoft than in paintball. as cqb player i dont have time to align ironsights. snipers have all the time in the world to calculate croshairs on trajectory.
Haven't watched yet but YES red dots are the way to go. It's a single reference point you have to line up, you can get on target faster. But more importantly, in airsoft you need to track your BBs as they fly through the air, iron sights obstruct your vision, while red dots let you see all around your target.
Are they *necessary* ? Probably not. Are they useful? Definitely. Still, because of my bulky full protection helmet, I can't use the iron sight anymore (can't put the stock against my face).
I prefer my AK's with iron sights, but on my M4 the red dots really shine. I do hate how my breath fogs the lens in cold mornings, and how colored lens protectors and mirror layers decrease sight in different sun intensity
What’s your opinion on see all open sights? Seems to me like an airsoft safe middle ground between irons and red dots that’s in the low end fire arms/high end airsoft price range. I haven’t gotten one yet to try it, but I’ve been curious.
Crap, I need to buy another Vortex Spitfire AR since that is what I use on my real steel AR. I just feel little silly about putting a optic on a airsoft rifle though when the rifle cost half of what the optic cost.
I have a vortex crossfire 2 1-4 on my g&g 416 i use 1 to 1.5 up close and the 3 to 4 i use for longer range spotting it has its uses and iv had enough with useing poorly made replica sights the money i spemt on those my vortex was cheaper and worth it and my vism l2 is better then these cheap peq boxs and its all metal :) but some real steel opics dont cost alot of money and proform better then a cheap china optic that kills batterys quicker and dim
A red dot really improved my enjoyment and performance in games. It eliminated any squinting and the issue of misaligning my sights when making fast jerking motions. I love my red dot. It made me shoot less as a result as well because I hit more consistentlym
While your trying to look at someone through a red dot or iron sight you cant see anything else so no sight for me just practice like Dayton from house gamer channel
VN Airsofter of course you can see something, with red dot you shoot with both eyes open so you can see exactly the same as without, the only difference is that you see a red dot that you can aim with.
You actually reminded me that what I have is a "holographic sight" rather than a red dot one. I bought mine for about 40€ on Amazon (a holographic 552 variant, the kind that takes 2 standard AA batteries). It gets the job done even if it's a brandless chinese made one, and they also provided a protection for the front lense.
@@nicowenis777 I can't seem to be able to paste link. Basically, I tried searching "holographic sight" on Amazon UK (the US one brings up the EOTech ones, which is the real stuff and super expensive). Gonna try to paste a link again. Make sure to check for reviews to avoid buying cheap junks though. Edit: Seems like a lot of the good stuffs disappeared though, I don't see the stuffs I used to see anymore.
@@nicowenis777 The one I bought is out of stock. A few example of some holographic sights that look like the one I bought (add this at the end of an Amazon UK link): /dp/B092DJLZVV/ and /dp/B01LWYTSX5/
Honestly who even uses their sight unless you are a sniper or a marksman. I have a great feel of where I need to aim without even looking down my barrel. Well that’s just me. Maybe I have a superpower lol🙂 Anyways great job Phil!! Been loving the videos recently!
@@replacesoundboard I’m not firing from the hip though... Basically I have my gun in the high ready but I look down the side of my barrel, not the top. You know what I mean?
For starters, the sniper with the most kills in history only used a iron sight so end of discussion. I own maybe twenty red dot sights and never use them other than for aesthetics.
