😡 Scammers are the absolute worst! If you see comments from them seek and destroy 💪 If there are other techniques to get rid of these guys please let everyone know!
I got scammed when i comented to you on the video about the history of Stratocaster, i reported these scams because they thinked i would get a gift from they ¿just for coment? Anyways i dont know what they want but if they got something from me is just deleting and reporting those scams channels.
I am telling you! These guys are really upping their game. I fell asleep listening to music on Utube. I wake up this morning and people have peppered my messages with emojis and resent them and some were offensive!
Google really has a responsibility to take care of stuff like this. Clearly they aren't doing enough. They'll gladly block content providers / guitar instructors for using songs on the pretense of copyright violation and limit people from amazing learning opportunities but do nothing when it comes to protecting its users.
And yet Google gets rid of something extremely useful for viewers, the Dislike Ratio, so that ultra-sensitive RU-vidrs don't get their little feelings hurt. Pathetic. And yet at the same time Google lets scammers rob grandmothers of their life savings. Unconscionable.
IF they spent that amt of time & effort in a real business or a real job, they would have MADE a good amt of money by now! It's kinda like Uber:Good in theory, but turns out to be a scam in the long run!
In fact, I was approached by someone on your channel stating that "I had won". Fortunately, you are a stand up guy, and when I reached back, you were kind enough to respond and inform me that it was not you. I'm very careful these days. Good video.

I had a serious conversation with one person. I never thought scammers would be taking over RU-vid....and yea, I told him: "Yu're just anoter scammer." He got 😠...hahaha I have been following this channel for 7 yrs and that was the weirdest thing ever happened...Losers are all around to devour others and live by stealing. I had a friend who would ask scammers to verify product specifications.... which led to some hilarious products - such as a vintage Gibson solid-body ukulele with the rare hidden 5th string.
Great info. Darrell. I was approached with a scam a few months ago on another guitar channel. The scammer was obvious to me so no harm done, and the real owner took the right steps to flag the scammer.
I stop commenting because I'm tired of scammers placing response comments which irritates the H....out of me. I report them and I just don't have any confidence that RU-vid is doing anything to them. Thanks for putting this up.
Ah, they're both Bezos owned SCAMS, that make the users the PRODUCT, who's information is sold to the actual CONSUMERS of 'social' media...the corporation's and their advertisers.
Thanks for this. I had a person try this using your show. They were good and engaged in messages and really hook you. I was told you had a gift, then talked about the show, types of guitar, etc. It went back and forth for several hours. BUT, 1. I was tipped off by the gear-know your gear people. It was odd based on the model they were giving away, the reasons why they were giving it away, and model specifics. 2. They asked me to pay for shipping. I have entered contests on youtube and it is always stated DO NOT PAY FOR SHIPPING and THEY DO NOT ASK YOUR FOR ANY MONEY.
This happened to me at the Casino Guitar site when they were giving away a Silver Sky. I called Baxter personally to let him know. I thought it was a case of scammers gonna scam. I had NO idea I could do all this to make their lives miserable. Appreciate the heads up. I'll do this next time.
Thanks for taking time to warn everyone! This actually happened to me where a scammer impersonated this channel saying I won something but I suspected it was a scam as there was incorrect English in their dialogue used.
Russians DON'T learn English at school any more! Putin banned it and many native dialects in his attempt at cultural genocide, by Russifying everything!
So glad you are addressing this situation. So many youtubers just let these messages ride on their channels sometimes I suspect because the spam comments actually benefit the channel though some of their subscribers are getting cheated out of money.
Wow, that’s crazy! I’m subbed but saw this video show up in my referral stats so I was hoping my channel wasn’t compromised! There is some scammer who’s taking my daughters content and re-uploading as her own. We’ve sent 3 of these complaints to RU-vid and they just tell her that HER channel can be deleted if it’s a false claim. I imagine YT is drowning trying to keep up with all of these scams.

Thanks Darrell. Great video and tips about how to turn them in. They had me going, but when it came to the "all you need to do is choose which shipping option you'd like to purchase" I knew it was a scam. In retrospect, they also weren't nearly as upbeat and engaging as you are, and that did raise some flags for me, but those P-90's were calling to me and I played along for too long. They didn't get any money out of me though. I also reported them to Telegram, but that place is so crammed with scammers apparently, I can't imagine they have the smarts to do anything about it. Really, more RU-vid hosts should be covering this criminal behavior, and RU-vid needs to take it more seriously.
Thank you for the refresher on how to report a channel using that channel's page and about information. I've been reporting them, but sometimes I haven't been able to get the drop-down menu to report, so this reminder is informative as well as timely, for me anyway.

I came across these scams on other guitar channels but ignored them. Thanks for taking the time to inform everyone and giving the advice to tackle these lowlifes.
I've been scammed on a givaway video on Kris Barocsi's channel, that was a very sad experience. GOOD TIP: they will ask for dodgy payments for "shipping costs" (or stuff like that) like Steam cards, but if you understand that it's a scam, pretend you didn't notice and insist to get an IBAN, ABA or SWIFT code for a bank transfer. They will provide it in the end when they realize it's the only way to spill you money. If you get one of those codes, finding their identity is really easy and you'll just need to provide it to the police.

I actually texted one of these guys to see what would happen. As you said they want to give me a guitar, but I pay shipping. I finally told them I knew it was a scam and ghost.
I very rarely leave comments so I had no idea this was happening. It’s a shame things like this happen, but I really appreciate you addressing the situation. Hopefully the more people know about this the quicker it can be reported and stopped.
Well done Darrell. In my limited experience, these scammers advertise that they take PayPal, but when you go to checkout the option disappears. I use PayPal for all my internet purchases and have never had a problem, touch wood!

We all love to think we've won something for nothing, it's human nature, and there are some really vicious algorithms that prey on people. It's crazy what these scammers are doing. I've had to deal with them on my channel too and it sucks. I can't believe that RU-vid can't stop this some how.

Love the video. Scammers of all kinds can be largely taken down with two simple questions: 1. Was I expecting this email/call/communication? If the answer to this is no, don't respond or just hang up the phone and call the company in question back on their number. Be sure to wait a little while or call back on a different phone as when you hang up, if the other party doesn't you risk getting connected right back to them. 2. Does this seem too good to be true? If the answer to this is yes, avoid it unless you know the source to be totally trustworthy.
I have to admit, they got me for about a split second on the Revstar video. I thought maybe there was going to be a raffle or something for the manufacturer provided guitar. But they failed because it asked me to DM and I didn't even know what Telegram was.

Thanks for the video. I've always flagged the comments, but didn't know I could flag the channel, too. These scams are so prevalent, I actually did win a contest with Zildjian a few years back, but thought it was a scam until they contacted me multiple times and I could verify the sender of the email
Good to know, thanks; recently bought a Epiphone LP Special II, after your reviews and comments. Sadly, the action is terrible and I cant keep the E string tuned. Taking it back when I have time and hope that the issue can be resolved
The sad truth is that even though I've marked probably 50 of these types of scams as spam, RU-vid just reinstates them within 24-36 hours. RU-vid doesn't give a 💩 about the problem.
There is a whole thing going on where we get emails to create videos for a brand with a normal payment so it feels legit. Luckily I knew the brand and checked and they told me that it's a scam. You create the video to put in front of your YT channel but by uploading they send a file you have to sign which includes malware. Luckily we didn't do it. But it looks pretty legit. So be careful and just ask the company direct.
This has been going on for several month's. I have been told no less than six time's I won a guitar after leaving comment's here. Guitar Max and Trogly were having the same problem. Hopefully we will see less of this in the future. I really love watching guitar related channel's and they're making people not want to comment so they won't be dealing with scammers. Anyway, I really enjoy your video's and let's hope they stay off your channel.
Tons of different scams on yt. This is just one of them. I've seen supposed links to bitcoin giveaways to weird suggestive named commenters to guitars to links to other RU-vid channels. It's been going on for like 2 or 3 years. It's BAD
Great video Darrell! I'm in IT, so I don't fall for this, but so many people still seem to. Good info about flagging the channel not just the comment. I didn't know about this step. I always post a warning reply when I see these and report the comment, but now I'll flag the channels I notice as well. 👍 😁

This is, however, not just a RU-vid problem, assholes like this also appear on other social media like Instagram (experienced it myself with a channel pretending to be the official Toto account). As if the usual pr0n spam bots didn't already suck enough. Aside from very few trolls, guitar or music RU-vid in general is a pretty nice place to wäre time in.

It's true. I report these scammers all the time but RU-vid does nothing. Meanwhile if I say anything that doesn't agree with their political agenda they erase my comment
RU-vid is protecting them. I wasted hours of my time reporting hundreds of such posts but they are all still up. The channels are still up and so are their posts. In one discussion on a video, the first reply was such a scam message. Several of us have reported it for days now, but it is still there.
