I've got a modded 2018 scatpack challenger. I absolutely love it. 180 thermostat. JLT air intake. Long tube headers. Hellcat throttle body.trans tune. I plan on doing a camm next. I love the car because it feels like a old school muscle naturally aspirated.
@@jscism1972 yeah I'm making about 450hp to the wheel and 455 torque. But that's peak numbers. I picked up 10 to 15 over my original baseline and alot of power down low. Definitely a noticeable improvement.
@@jeremyvasquez6913 It's to bad the 392 is better with mods. I did similar to my SS and it gained over 100HP to the crank with a tune as well. I miss my widebody scat pack, it was a cool car. Have you looked into an E85 tune?
@@jscism1972 Yeah man the 392 doesn't have much more to give unless you completely rebuild the engine. But then again the camaro starts off at lower power level so there's definitely more to gain. But I've been considering e85. The biggest draw back for me is I live in Michigan. So I put my car away for the winter, and it's not good to leave e85 sitting in your car. It can gunk everything up. But how you liking that camaro compared to a scat?
@@jeremyvasquez6913 I have a 2SS 1LE and it's easily the better sports car of the 3 all around but as far as on the street and just speed they are all close. The scat is the coolest looking and most comfortable in my opinion. The 1LE handles like a super car, unbelievable.
I owned 3 Mustangs and 2 Chargers (one a Scat Pack). They are vastly different cars. The Mustang, for all practical purposes, is a 2-seater. It's lighter and faster. The Scat Pack is over-powered. You can learn to feather the accelerator and then it just drives like a big, heavy sedan, which I love. Sure, with the Scat Pack, there's enough power to drive like an idiot, but it just becomes pointless after a while. With the Charger GT, it still drives like a big, heavy sedan and has plenty of power at 300hp. The Charger looks better to me.
Yeah if your SS is modified otherwise you're talking right out your rear. An SS can relatively stay close but not beat a scatpack.... let alone even come close to a hellcat.
@bigbadchevy6707 out my rear end ?! As I said , my car is 100% stock and I have a lot of friends with scat 392 and mustangs , I'm not some random shit talker I have a very big shop and I'm a ASE certified Master Automotive Technician and build cars from GSX eclipse, evos, cats , mustang and more.. I beat them all the time and my car is manual and not the slick shifting 8spd or 10 spd people usually have I'm old school. But since your on RU-vid look up camaros vs scat 392 and mustangs and you see!
@shawnboy4368 There's plenty of videos proving you wrong as if I needed to even look it up. Stock for stock it was never a question the numbers don't add up.... I'm not just a hater either I like both chevrolet and dodge but I know lies when I see them.... even the ZL1 after a bit won't keep in front of a Hellcat it's just the facts.
@@bigbadchevy🤦🏽♂️ a scat literally weighs 4300lbs. It’s a godam yacht. Shits hella slow, the Camaro can obviously beat it my guy, they literally only have a 15whp difference.
Little biased cause I have a 5.0, but it’s faster, looks better, and revs out to 7500 stock. 10 speed is a monster of a transmission too. (Why is everyone and their brother out for the Mustang community nowadays smh.)
@@moochimooch6650 You right I agree wit you the 1320s are fast as hell off the line and can even gap a automatic 10 speed Gt but the bone stock scatpacks the regular ones not so much .
Mustangs have the biggest aftermarket and the best motors to modify. And it’s a nice mix bigger than the Camaro, but handles better than Mopar. Plus a scat pack can’t handle boost without you spending 10 K to build the motor first.
Dude I wanted to get a scat pack but I got a GT for about $7000 less than any scat pack comparably equipped. And that widebody you were driving would be way more than that.
I own a 2017 5.0. Automatic, muffler delete, mbrp x-pipe, an cold air Intake. So I went up against a 392 charger, with cold air intake, an muffler delete both Automatic. He couldn't reel me AT All
I had a 2018 challeger scat pack 6 speed and now own a 2022 mustang gt 6 speed performance pack and magneride. Both fun in their own rights but the stang just feels quicker and more nimble.
Scats are better, but I am a Mopar guy. I think you are in the subjective topic zone here, I started on a 5.0 Mustang years ago. Stangs and Camaros in their own respects, are a great part of American Street Muscle history. Dodge retained the Muscle Car as a true modern version though, it didn't morph into a Star Wars toy.
In my opinion, the scat pack is a much more unique being a four door. The Mustang is a pony car, so the Challenger and Camaro are a better fit for comparison. There are just a few other cars like it, the BMW 5 series cs is one which cost about 60k more than a scat pack.
@@dobetter4271yeah I was confused by his comment 😂 since when do 5.0’s run with 5.7’s and struggle? The 5.7 is actually closer to fords 2.3 honestly. The 5.0 runs with scat packs
The Charger is a 2nd class citizen compared to the WB Challenger in any flavor. The only modern muscle car that comes close to the badassness is the C7 series Vettes. Camaros and Mustangs are a dime a dozen, and the C8 looks like Anime. And the new Mustang dash? An ipad? lol...gross.
