Aloha 🌺 I'm fighting cancer right now. For awhile I use Boost, walnuts, blueberry, wheat germ, 1 banana. My doctor's think it's great! Because of allergies I only use Vanilla Boost. Thank you for all your tips! Aloha 🌺
Aloha! 🙏 My prayers are with you Katherine... Keep doing all you can! Keep up the fight! I know it ain't easy... hopefully I'll hear a response someday with some AWESOME news!!
You'll beat it. I also encourage you to look into apricot and apricot seeds. They fight cancer, believe it or not. You have to ceack the seed open and eat what's in it. There was a study done for the middle wastern tribe that did this... absolutely none died from crom cancer, and they live long lives. You should look into it. May Yeshua bless you.
Consuming cold and frozen foods and drinks? impedes digestive process and leads to dehydration.. took me literally my whole life to learn to confront this inversion that's being pushed at us.. my advice is if you're going to use frozen products to make your smoothie? Let it mostly return to room temperature before you consume it? Most people are just looking around under seats for a coins to buy something at the corner store at this point
Don't let these people criticizing you about using is instead of are get you down, Doc. I sometimes have grammar slips as well. Doesn't take away from your message in your video. Have a great day!
As hard as I try, I really, really can’t take the taste of coconut anything. I usually use some avocado for the creamy part of my smoothies. Hope you’ll do some recipes without coconut. I do use chia. That stuff thickens anything!
Thank you Dr. Hansen. I make smoothies in the morning. Mine is using very simple ingredients from the supermarket such as banana, blueberry, carrots, cantaloupe, bitter gourd, celery with either milk or apple juice, or coconut water.
Hello from Bangalore, India. I grow and love to eat bitter gourd using many recipes, but all of them are curried / pickled dishes. I didn’t know we can make smoothie from bitter gourd. Can you please share the details?
Personally the only appealing things about smoothies for me is that I can just drink my nutrients if I'm having trouble eating, and I can blend everything into an even texture.
It looks good, but 19 grams of carbs for me in one meal would like to knock me out. I teeter between prediabetes and reactive hypoglycemia, and too many carbs will make my blood sugar go up quickly (while not super high) and make me feel like complete dreck. Then I have to worry about it coming down too quickly, protein and fiber or not. I've found the best thing for me is plain nonfat Greek yogurt, strawberries, powdered peanut butter, unsweetened soy milk, and some cacao since, after all of the fiber content, I'm left with around 10 grams of carbs.
Thank you for the yummy recipe, dr. Handsome 😃 Smoothies had been my breakfast forever! I usually make mine with banana, plain lowfat yogurt and oats base and I add another frut to it depending on what I feel like (mango, frozen strawberries and blueberries or apricots) but I will definitely try yours. And start adding chia seeds to mine. 😊 Now I don't know about weightloss, but I can atest to it will keep you full till lunch and my size has only gone up from 0 to 2 in the last 10 years.
Try using Avocado Oil , can be heated at a pretty high temp. Bertolli also makes a cooking olive oil you can use if you are not picky about the olive oil.
Dr Hansen, Great video but I'd be really interested in hearing you comment specifically on Dr Caldwell Esselstyn's objections to smoothies, with particular reference to their effect on the endothelium. I'm slightly at a loss to know which advice to follow in this regard.
The smoothies I make a way lower in carbs and sugar and still taste great I use unsweetened almond milk if you like coconut there a almond milk with coconut 1 gram of carbs per serving I use 2 good yogurt for sweetener and creaminess it has only 4 grams of carbs and 90 calories per serving Wich is 3/4 cup I use 3-4 strawberry's Wich is only like 4-5 grams of carbs about 1 cup of kale or spinach u can add blueberry's also if you like it all adds up to about 10 grams of carbs
I agree with you about the fats. I wouldn't touch the stuff. I just use a different milk source, like hemp or cashew, since I make all my own plant based milk.
Thanks sir ..very good health info 👍🏻👍🏻. please do more video regarding lifestyle medicine like these one. This is a true health education for everyone.
It would be better if you eat whatever is in the smoothie without blending! When you blend fruit, apart from loosing a bit of fibre, as it's mentioned in the video, it releases sugar and it's digested much quicker, so it gives you an insulin spike instead of a more steady release. Is it better than a soda? Of course! But it could be better if you don't blend anything and eat everything raw
Smoothies are tastier than eating all the components separately! And your sugar level doesn't spike that much to be concerned about it unless, maybe, you're diabetic.
@@ohana8535 Are you comparing a few chews with your teeth than a blade going several thousands revolution per minute for 1 or two minutes? If you check the limit for the free sugar you should eat every day, the natural sugar in the fruit doesn't count, EXCEPT if you blend it, then it counts. When you blend something, the natural sugar attached to the fibres is released and it behaves like free sugar in Coca Cola or similar. Please, don't believe me, research it.
@@etherealenigma2008 Tell that to all the people from the US that has type II diabetes or are insulin resistance. Do you think that developed just because? No, that is because they took too much free sugar. Really, try to lower the amount of free sugar you take as much as possible.
@@javiTests You are still getting the exact same content. Chopping it up makes not difference. But since you made the claim, please provide your Peer reviewed sources supporting it.
Better to just eat the food imo - we have teeth and a jaw for a reason. Digestion starts in the mouth, saliva produces enzymes as you know. You know all this.
Can you address coconut milk controversy. Plus on IF OMAD, is it safe to consume 32 ounces of smoothie and that’s it. I have hashimotos and can’t budge weight off. 70 years old, traumatized by both parents, molestation and narcissism. Used to be super active, now battling chronic fatigue from the myriad of PTSD, brought on from a craniotomy 2018. Im 5’6”, 214 lb. My body is not happy at this weight when 130-140 was my weight until my forties, when SSRI’s f’d up my metabolism. 🎉I rollerbladed from my 30’s to 60’s. Hour to 2 hours Then seizures kicked in after a rollerblade run due to the meningioma plated in my right temporal lobe. Could a liquid OMAD of 32 oz, bring me results?
Can you please explain further about the trans fats when cooking with olive oil? I found on Google this, which states the opposite and would love to understand it further: It is also a myth that heating olive oil leads to the formation of trans fats. In one study, frying olive oil eight times in a row only increased the trans fat content from 0.045% to 0.082% - still a negligible amount (15). Olive oil is very stable overall, even under extreme conditions
I enjoy your channel Dr Mike, I really want to start trying these smoothies. I’ve got a couple of questions, how many servings are there in the recipe and what can I use instead cashews? Thank you!
I ❤ your vids Mike, however shouldn't it be "Are smoothies..." ??? I don't think this is the same case as Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds Is coming " !!!
Look dude we live in Los Angeles California South Central to be exact we don't have organic and all of that we do have frozen fruit though so get on with it
I think you should reconsider the verbiage you use for your nutritional videos. Some of the terms you've used in this video and others on diet topics like super foods and starvation mode aren't accurate or helpful. The vibe I get from these videos are that I'm getting information from a "gym bro". The information you provide is helpful but doesn't seem to be communicated in the most effective way.
47grams of fat in a smoothie is not for losing weight, sorry! Having low fat( -10grams) smoothies 4x a day with berries, kale/spinach, chia seeds and other frozen fruits is the ideal weight loss smoothie. Cutting the fat to roughly 20 grams a day will give anyone weight loss results much quicker than any keto or other trendy diet!
