During the duel in 1st phase, he stuns everyone except the dueler. He just stuns everyone else, no base chance so eff res would do nothing. Read the boss move information during battle.

run few character that able to do aoe attack, use ultimate to win gamba if necessary because you'll get the energy back anyway if you win. Example : I run kafka blackswan ruan mei fu xuan for aventurine, kafka and bs can just skill and hit 3 dice, if i'm not unlucky they should win the gamba, save fu xuan ult for gamba so she can win, ruan mei can take the L, if fu xuan E is active she should resist the imprison.
