I can vouch for the Tekton warranty. Albeit on only one item. I broke a chrome socket reducer trying to remove an oil gally pipe plug. I went on the website, submitted a photo, and literally two days later there was a new one in the mail box. I live in North Dakota by the way. Two days. Other than that, I haven't broken any of my Tekton stuff.

I can vouch, broke a 1/4 long extention..( I was abusing it ....snap on would have broken also) sent a photo...3 days later I got not just a replacement 1/4 long but the ENTIRE SET I originally bought....1/4 short, mid, long 3/8 Sam length AND 1/2 same size...never broken another thing and it's all my box is full of.

On the Tekton Ratchets, They have also done the 1/4" ratchet conversion to 3/8" (Slim head) like Koken. These are great for the 3/8 socket/ Torx/hex bits. If you have a spare 1/4 ratchet, you can order the 3/8 gear for it and make a swap. They also have a good assortment of Torx, E Torx, Hex and Triple square if you work on German car or Motorcycles.

Hell yea Tekton is still relevant and bringing out new products alot of which are made in the USA. They are a great American company to support. RU-vid hype isn't necessary. I do wish that they were avaliable in more brick & mortar stores like Lowes and Home Depot since they both sell them online, mostly because it's nice to get a hands on feel before buying stuff some times. Their website buying experience and customer service is flawless though. I spent a bunch with Tekton in 2023

I've started to slowly replace my mismatched tools (mixture of HF, old Craftsman etc) with Tekton (chrome/impact sockets, wrenches, etc) and have absolutely no issues. The quality is top-notch, the chrome is bright, laser marking is easy to read, ratcheting mechanisms are smooth as butter. I look forward to years of service from these tools.

Tekton stubby ratchets are definitely smoother than Icon stubby ratchets. The 3 inch 3/8 stubby in a 1/4 inch body is super nice. I also tried the modular wrench storage slots and love them. Ended up ordering 80 piece black and 80 piece red.

Big fan of Tekton, bought a lot of their tools since finding them through you about 2 years ago. Last purchase was the 3/4" drive 40" breaker bar to use on my flat bed trailer as lug nut torque spec is 275-325 lb ft 😮 I have to give a shout out to their online chat support too, they answer any question, and take recommendations for new tools they don't make (ask for half moon wrenches if anyone chats with them😊)

I only have one tekton socket set. Compared to other companies they were the only affordable brand selling FULL channel 12 points. Which I have found very useful. No catches and hang ups when taking fasteners out in odd ball places. People knock 12 point, but it is more versatile and saves a lot of hand pain and frustration when dealing with tight areas.

My local Rural King store has a decent selection of Tekton but, it IS smaller than it used to be. I've bought several sets there and I'm happy with them. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Tekton started out (years ago) as Michigan Industrial Tool (M.I.T.). If so, I bought a 3/4" drive M.I.T. socket set back in the early 1990s and still use it pretty regularly to this day.

I don't have a huge amount of Tekton but I do like what I have very much. Screw driver set, several impact socket sets, a couple of ratchets, a few pliers, a nice complete bit kit in a nice case and a few other odd & ends. No chrome sockets as I don't need any. When I do add tools, I now check them out first if I don't need it immediately. Thankfully I can't comment on warranty as I haven't needed it.

I just thought I would throw out a correction for you. They’re split beam torque wrenches seem to be a lot better than the ones they had previously that were OEM from someone else the type that everybody was using at one point and they do have non-quick release ratchets.

I can confirm the split beam torque wrenches are very nice quality tools. I purchased one of these for accurate torquing of workholding for thin walled components on one of our ID grinders last year, it’s been used 1000’s of times over the past year and performs excellently.

Jeff -- Thanks for the update on what's going on with Tekton. It's good to see a company with so many USA made tools doing well. Toward the end of the video, you compared several Tekton-made pliers with pliers made by other brands. This prompted a desire to see a comparison among the pliers sold by Harbor Freight. I'd like to expand/upgrade my pliers collection; and it would be helpful to know when its worth splurging on Icon, Doyle is more than good enough, Quinn will do, and whether you should ever buy Pittsburg. Please feel free to ignore this video suggestion. But, I'm sure it would go viral!

I bought some (first time) tools from Tekton about 2 years ago: screw drivers and pliers sets. The smallest flat head chipped on me and I reached out to Tekton via website and within about a week, I had the replacement. My disappointment comes with the pliers, seems as though they have garnered surface rust just sitting in my tool box. Not something that all of my much older other named stuff does, but it does not render them useless.
@WC3fanatic997
@WC3fanatic997 6 месяцев назад
I've started getting their stuff this year, with the full-on 1/2in Impact Set and a set of their three-size Ratchets. They are phenomenally hefty and the ratchets mechanisms are buttery smooth. Showed them to my neighbor, who was a big mechanic in California back in the Golden Age who, while downsized, still has a garage full of old-school Cornwell, Snap-On, Made In USA Craftsman and Crescent, he's seen everything and he seems quite impressed with their stuff so far. As for their stuff thats so far made in America: Pretty much all of their Crowfoot Wrenches, all of their tool organizers, Deadblow Hammers, drivers, picks, prybars, Angled-Head Wrenches, chisels and punches, and a lot of their pliers. Probably more, but thats what I remember off the top of my head. Which, on that note, I applaud them simply for the fact they plainly state country of origin on their items, no matter where it's from. Thats so rare that honestly they should be elevated just for that alone. Considering how fairly priced they are (even though they have been raising their prices, it's still more than reasonable), non-stop talk of their stellar warranty, their plain and honest transparency, and most importantly their commitment to bringing back manufacturing to America, I'll definitely be getting more. They're good people.

Tekton really needs impact swivel sockets, bit sockets need Torx Plus, XZR, and RBT styles. Their rolling cabinets are really nice but could definitely use heavier duty casters to carry the weight the structure is capable of.

I’ve also been a big fan of Tekton for the past 4 years now, I wanted to add some more information on the Rousseau boxes. Rousseau calls this range of boxes the ‘Model R’ box. On their site they have a configurator that allows you to spec out custom boxes including the specific height, width and depth, number of and size of drawers, drawer layout and then a multitude of other features like type of lock, one drawer at a time system, drawer dividers and so on. Rousseau also offers a fairly broad color pallet. It took me a while to find a distributor who would work up a quote for me but when I did I was surprised to find the pricing of the box I configured was several hundred $ less (including shipping and all taxes) than the most expensive Tekton box despite the fact that the box I configured is the same width but even taller, will be built to order, has the exact drawer sizes and layout I chose and the color I wanted. I will say a couple of advantages to the Tekton, residential lift gate shipping at no extra charge is a huge selling point, I will be getting mine delivered to work anyway so not a concern… also lead time on the custom Rousseau is 8-10 weeks, I don’t mind waiting but if I needed it sooner the Tektons are stocked and ready to go. The 2 things I wish we’d see from Tekton in the future: top chests and/or hutches for the boxes - I’m not sure what the likelihood of this is as Rousseau don’t seem to offer top chests, they do offer hutches but I believe they are serious $$$$, I plan to have my distributor quote a hutch for future reference. Secondly, I’d love to see more foam organizers be available for the sockets, wrenches and screwdrivers, I’m currently using their rebranded Ernst socket rails which I seem to have a love/hate relationship with depending on the day.

I’m very tempted to get a couple individual larger size angle wrenches for hydraulic fittings. Combination wrenches work for the most part but you always seem to need the angled offset for clearance. And adjustable wrenches work well too… if you have the clearance which is getting less common on modern machines. Very tempted to pick up a few select size wrenches.

I have what were, at the time, all of their chrome 1/4 and 3/8 drive 6 point sockets, with their locking socket trays, and they are a pleasure to use. Fit great, easy to read, and still perfect after years of use. I''ve warranteed a couple of tools with them, and the first time I was wondering if it could be that easy. Yep. If I were a professional mechanic, I'd think about getting 2 of all the stuff I might break (like impact sockets) from Tekton, which would cost less than 1 of the same from Snap-On. Then anytime I broke something, I'd warrantee it and use the other one. No need to even go to a store.

I like there wrench's and screwdrivers as well. Here's my Teckton story Somehow, I had a pair of their pliers in my toolbox but they had an issue with the nut that holds the 2 main pieces together. I had no idea about the warranty until I heard you talk about it on a video. I took pics, sent them in, and a few days later a brand new pair of pliers showed up at my house. No BS, no crying or trying to get out of it. Every since, these pliers are my absolute go to pliers. They are the 8 inch you showed in this video. When ever I have a job that I by G want to hold onto something, you know what I mean, these are the ones I hunt down in my shop and find. Every time. So, in the future, if I have a chance to buy this companies product, if it's reasonable.... well, it'll be a no brainer. Even over HF.

Their 6 point ratchet wrenches are every bit as good as my snap on set. The tekton sets I bought a few years ago were right around 100 bucks per set that’s a quarter the price of what I paid for my snap on sets.

I regularly buy things from them. Thank you for the reference years ago. I've been satisfied with everything BUT their locking pliers. Maybe they are better now, but Bremen from HF was better for the money by a good margin.

My first Tekton purchase was last year, and I was super impressed with the whole transaction. I live in Ohio so real close to MI, and I received my tools next day, customer service has been awesome, and the tools have been great. I'm a big Tekton fan now.

The crowfoot wrenches, angle wrenches, and hammers are all very reasonably priced for USA. Made tools. I’ve been happy with everything that I’ve ordered from them.

About a year ago I was very interested in the extra long double box ratchet set. Out of stock for a long time. I did see them just recently and it changed from a 6 pt box to 12 pt . Idk... maybe I will get them

Love tekton I’ve been buying them for 10 years now. They are starting to get a little too expensive but I still do try and buy them when I can. But they need to come out with more tools like some heavy truck or machine tools maybe some auto specialty also

Those storage cases are huge and yet they don’t market them for whatever reason. That whole solution you mentioned is massively underrated, and no one else is making anything like it . Tons of mechanics would like a mobile solution, but all mobile solutions are geared more towards construction. Mechanics, or anybody with handtools is sort of an afterthought.

When they were being sold at Meijer, I tried to make a concerted effort to buy from them first before going to HF or the like. Managed to get a bunch of their stuff on clearance before Meijer switched to stocking Stanley only.

I have moved 100% to Tekton a few years ago. I bought my son for Christmas a full set of Tekton impact sockets last month. Tekton sponsored Goonzquad on RU-vid big time. FYI, I just bought a 73x25 ICON tool chest. It's being delivered next week!

@DAKOTANSHELBY
@DAKOTANSHELBY 6 месяцев назад
@denoftools It is Black. I prefer a darker Blue, like Navy Blue, but their blue is more of a bright or slightly florescent blue. Not my choice for blue. Black goes with everything. I wish HF offered more colors. Thank you for asking Mr. Grizzly .

I’ll add a vote for the Made in USA crowfoot imperial set. Very good quality. I have picked up the 1/4” Ratchet wrench and it compares to the Teng wrenches I have. (Teng don’t make the 1/4” size).

I have my ratcheting 6 point flex heads wrenches from them and I love them. But from what I had understood they were phasing those out for the 12 point. While I do love them I get sometimes where I would rather have the 12 point and a majority of the people using them would rather have them as well

Maybe I'm just falling prey to marketing but, when recently shopping reversible ratcheting combo wrenches, I was a little surprised that Tekton didn't have any options with open ends that have extra grip features - just straight sides. I ended up with Icons, instead (though I did get Tekton's 3/8" split beam torque wrench, which I love).
@chriscalderin6677

The grip features damage flat sides and are not acceptable to fine and expensive equipment like aircraft or other critical fasters.

@@chriscalderin6677 understood, that's why many manufacturers offer both options. Meanwhile, I'm not working on aircraft, I'm working on a vehicle that sees harsh winters.

I think companies you hear a lot about are the ones that advertise a lot... So it's my opinion that when something are good, the best advertising is word of mouth.... If it's not broke don't fix it... That's just my opinion...
