Are the 2023 Pistons the worst team in NBA history? 

This is partially true, but even if they kept Billups it wouldn't have solved their main issue at the time, which was that core was finished and couldn't contend past 2008. The Pistons just never drafted any great players during this stretch, and made many dumb signings. They should've got something better for Chauncey than a washed up AI.

I agree but Hayes is not the PG. Ivey lacks defense hustle and is horrible with the ball in his hands while moving. He is an off brand Ja with inconsistency everywherw…The pistons wasted a pick with Ivey mainly cause they cannot develop players. The pistons lack defense, hustle and chemistry

Quit it, there's nothing strange about taking minutes from a guy that plays zero defense. Yes, giving those minutes to a man equally bad on offense is not a solution either. But Ivey doesn't play a lick of defense and he can't stop a single NBA player from isolating striaght to the basket and is somehow worse in transition. He doesn't even try, gets caught watching the ball, lets guys cut behind him for easy buckets, real basic stuff. There's compliation videos of Harden playing that type of defense, Ivey is that same type of defender. They were down 4, 3 minutes left, Ivey has the ball, he isolates from the left towards the FT line, loses the handle, it is scooped and taken the other way, ball being guarded as they push and there's Ivey jogging back and just watching while someone sprints back behind him, catches the pass and then throws down a monster dunk. 4 point swing in 5 seconds and he doesn't even try to make up for his mistake. This was two games ago. I forget the opponent already. Look that play up. The entire game went to shat after that play. That type of crap is why they lose, lousy, zero effort defense. Night in and out, individually and as a team.

I think thats what kind of makes it worse though. The 76ers wanted to lose games, but still are probably going to end up winning more games than this Piston squad

The Process was half bad luck too. They drafted or traded for several top lottery picks who ALL turned into busts except Embiid, who was also injured for the first 2.5 years of his career.

They are worse cause of that very reason lol. The Pistons are trying to win and keep losing lmao the 76ers we’re trying to lose so it makes sense, and they had Embiid to look forward to. The Pistons are just flat out garbage with no future in sight 😂

Ideally they have a chance against the spurs, wizards, and MAYBE the hornets. Everyone else has at least a squad that plays D and a competent coach. Their whole front office needs to be purged and new EXPERIENCED blood needs to come in

Nope it’s definitely Monty. This year’s roster is better than last year’s and last year they were competitive. Monty’s personnel decisions and rotations have been epically bad.
