The Cardinals are back after the All-Star Break and trade rumors are swirling with a few big name starting pitchers. Could the Cardinals target Nathan Eovaldi or Zach Eflin from two ailing American League teams? How about Yusei Kikuchi? John Denton reported that the Cardinals have been linked to all three of these starters. The offense seems to be heating up but the starting pitching is slowing down.

Great numbers from Josh on Sonny Grays home run % the last few years. We did know 8 homers last year was the outlier. I think last year ruined Cardinals fans.

No! Burleson should be batting 3rd or 4th to take advantage of his ability to drive in Runners. Practically NEVER Walks which is what you want from your 2-Hole Hitter......a GOOD HItter who ALSO happens to Walk should be Batting 2nd .....hmmmm, who would that be? Ummm, Donovan who'd hit there BOTH Of the 2 Seasons prior?!?!?!?! Why the F**K is he batting Clean-up?!?!?!?! Makes NO SENSE AT ALL!!!!

Anything less than Fedde would be a waste. Clean-up hitter still a void. 0-9 with a walk and 3 Ks. Come on Goldy!!!!!!!! Thinking you’re expecting waaaay too much from .705 Tommy. “He’s definitely not Tyler O’Neil. Indeed. 18 HRs and .857 OPS. Indeed.

Everyone but Walker and Mathews idc about anyone else honestly now with JJ drafted.. maybe keep Saggase.. Scott is two plus years away idc about him either

Efflin.. Evoldi.. Scherzer.. idc just add Yates or Fairbanks in the trade… then get rid of Carlson and Gio.. add Pillar who can platoon vs lefties and still give great defense since Siani is a lefty and can face righties.. Pillar can also pinch hit over Carp and Crawford

I wouldnt give up anything for a bat. Yeah, if you could unload some rando prospect and Carlson for a RH bat. Do it. But I would spend all the capital you are willing to spend on a starter and a reliever ... Hopefully a bat we already have can go on a run... and Nado should bat 2 ... and Goldy Gorman should be 7 and 8

Why Burly 2nd & Donovan 4th. You need Burly's ability to Drive-In Runs LOWER in the Order....3rdr or 4th and you need Donovan's ability to get on-base up there at 2nd. He THRIVED there the previous 2 seasons!!! Host automatically just reiterates what Marmol has thrown out there which isn't how it SHOULD BE anyway!!!

I wanted to trade Goldschmidt last off-season, and I was dogged mercilessly. He would have been value in a trade. I love Goldschmidt, but he is 38, and people wanted to extend him. Now you have to ride it out with him and get nothing for him after this season.

@boschlosser10 that's true, I never thought they would do it. I knew O'Neill had to go, but did we work a deal that would have included Sale? No, we got nothing to help us this year. So, I'll be glad to see Mo go. Unfortunately, Goldschmidt will be done here, too .

I said at last year's trade deadline it would be a colossal failure not to Goldshmidt and Arenado at the value you could have. Now we're here where Goldy has no value and you might as well keep him and we have zero prospects in return 🙃

He’s not a true ace but he’s a whole lot better than angry Cardinals fans act. He’s an above average pitcher that gets talked about like he’s Mikolas.
