I think they've made some good changes though not enough to warrant the big price difference between this and the date version. Nice work with the review as always mate.
For me it's definitely a step up. No awkwardly positioned date window, the dial looks nice and symmetrical. It still had the super case style lugs, but it's an homage after all! 😉
I have six PD homage watches, five Rolex and one Tudor along with the actual watch they resemble. I love them all. I find I wear the PD's most often because of the freedom it allows when wearing them. I do not have to be as concerned for their safety and enjoy working in the yard or boating with my PD watches. Based on this review I will forgo this particular model but overall PD has provided me with a beautiful watch collection for pennies on the dollar for what I spent on my Rolex and Tudor collection and I get just as much satisfaction from owning them both. I love the no date look as well but I just accomplished that by removing the cyclops from my PD's.
I like that, without the date.Never knew why a true dive watch had a date, anyway. How much air does an air tank hold? 🤣 A glide lock would be nice, for the price, though.I think they pinched the 2 tone lume from Steeldive (?).Be a good seller, I think…👍🏾
Great content, love your videos. I now only buy Pagani Design watches that are well under £100 (p&p/taxes all in) and only those watches that have faxed bezels because I'm sick of getting sloppy q.c issues with their diver ranges. I've recently bought their PD-1701 chronograph for £70.71 and it's fantastic. I generally look at Heimdallr or Steeldive if spending between £100 - £150 as I've had zero problems with those brands in that low price bracket.
Great review. :) Personally, I prefer the NH35 date version. I really don't like ghost dates. If they were going to produce a no date version, they should've picked a movement that didn't have a date complication. And the lack of hacking is a downgrade, IMO. They changed the bezel, too, which I'm not a big fan of. The version I have has more of a coin bezel, whereas the version you have has triangular edges on the bezel, which I don't think provide as much grip. (Kind of splitting the difference between an Omega Seamaster and a Submariner.)
Thanks Jason, like everyone here, I have an opinion as well. Like the domed crystal, and the solid 200M case back. Now for the criticism, do not like the end links or the bracelet, would have done better here to keep existing bracelet and add a reliable glide lock, mixed luminescent colors, hacking should be standard on both movement options, should include anti-reflective coating to set it apart.
Not sure the few upgrades warrant the extra £25/ £30. I personally don't mind the no date window and the printed text and indexes. For the price you are still getting a decent quality watch. I think it would look great with a green bezel. That could be a fairly easy, but enjoyable mod video. Great review as always Jason, cheers 👍
The lume kills it for me. Steeldive sells similar watches at similar prices. I can't justify the price. I have two Pagani watches and I think that's enough. Nice in the day and cheap at night. The time of Pagani design has ended. Thank you again Jason. Cheers
The changes are a definite improvement, I’ll hang fire for other colour options. The no date gives a much cleaner look to the dial and who needs a date when you’re diving?
Love the no date/cyclops. Perfect symmetry. The day is ridiculous and kills the dial balance. If I'm diving it's Saturday or Sunday. If I'm on holiday, then I really don't want to be reminded of day/date.
A good looking watch of course & nice to see some lume on the bezel but if PD haven’t fixed their bezel build quality issues, I don’t feel the price hike is justified.
The rivet bracelet originally always was with smaller lug on the rolex; similarly it always slimmed to the clasp. I don't see the pont of this at all; some vintage aspects with mixed with current design. Falls between two stools IMO.
Good looking watch. Not sure it is any better than an Invicta Pro Diver with the NH35a which is about $80 USD. However, the Pro Diver doesn't have Sapphire glass and this does. Maybe that is enough difference to pay the extra $40.
Always loved the Pagani Design. The lume is not a concern for me. Clasp and bracelet looks great. No date is nice. Printed dial is a step down from pd-1639. Price is a little high - with alla import fees an stuff. Have bought 10 Pagani design during 2020 and 2021 and i don't think i will buy more as the price is rising. I rather buy something else for the money. Nice watches but there is so much out there. I can for exampel buy a new Longiness Quartz for about 3 or 4 Pagani Design.
I don't like a date on a dive watch in general? Mand with an automatic that I don't wear everyday I appreciate not having to set the date when I pick it up out of the watch box. I'm not a fan of the rivet bracelet, but I do like that dome crystal - very vintage looking. I think it's decent, but I'm saving my pennies for something a bit more expensive.
Bought one directly from the Pagani shop. They advertise that it comes with Seiko movement but the watch comes with a different movement Myiota Brand. Manual winding is horrible and sounds metal scraping against metal. Luminesce is as poor as nonexistence, and if you claim they just tell you to ship it back at your expense. You get what you pay for and Chinese factories still have a terrible, nonexistent costumer service!
do they ever just get a bezel correct there going to have to sort out their QC issues I have stopped buying them I have 4 all have QC problems ps your link to this is not working))
