Excellent job in pointing out the fact that the revenue that they are willing to let go of was the same kind of money that could've bridged the gap in the Howard Terminal project to keep the A's in Oakland.
@@daveatkins3796 2023 Las Vegas Raiders Impact Report. The total economic impact for Las Vegas, generated by visitors to Allegiant Stadium, exceeds $2.29 billion. Team officials said that number also includes $128 million in tax revenue! "COME ON MAN" !!!
Regardless what Fisher says, he's made money every year that he's own the team by having a low payroll and the endless revenue sharing checks. He wants to now pocket more profits by the Vegas move. Winning is secondary.
This is true. Those people claiming Oakland is more dangerous than other cities are the ones who want to ignore what's happening in their own backyard. Oakland isn't perfect but no city is.
I'm not surprised. With declining attendance number and a dilapidated ballpark that's been falling apart with no renovation plan. The whole state of California is losing money. There are multiple reason why the As have to move, and it has nothing to do with money.
@@stewgotz1 get out of your bubble then. Idk what to tell you. Businesses are shutting down because nobody can do anything about the theft and vandalism. Property owners aren't allowed to even defend their own properties. The mayor they elected is just as incompetent and corrupt as Breed slashing vital programs that would clean the area up but instead she doesn't want to do anything about the homeless infecting the area. Yeah. I love this move. It's much better for everybody involved. The white sox are next so dont feel bad. You have to prioritize fan safety.
Way baseball works visting team get 1\2 ticket sales say a’s at Yankees 3gm series 250 k attendance A’S get 125 k = 3mil now Yankees at oakland 3gm ticket sell 150k 75k goes Yankees. Balance itself out
I lived in the Oakland area for awhile and while it’s not a “nice” city, its reputation is a bit ridiculous and is a relic from 40-50 years ago. Jack London square, which had been seriously proposed as a new location, is absolutely awesome and visitors would’ve loved that neighborhood.
Voters don't care about political corruption as long as it aligns with there political narrative , but when the other side does something sketchy it's attack , attack, attack 😂
Imagine a billionaire buying a house for 200 million that now is worth 1 billion dollars. But because the billionaire has let the house fall in to such disrepair he is unable to rent it at market rate. Totally the homeowners fault for pocketing all the previous rent instead of investing some of said rent in maintaining the property. Welcome to the Oakland A's and screw John Fisher.
Others are willing. Shouldn't that opportunity been provided before decided to move? I mean that's reasonable right? Hey billionaires of the Bay, anyone willing to build and keep the team in Oakland? Sure, if nobody stepped up, then yeah, move. BUT we didn't even get that chance. I'm telling you there others who wanted to buy the team to keep here. That should be noted.
Team ownership likes to pocket money rather than reinvest it. Then the coliseum is totally in need of renovation which won't happen either. Honestly they should fold the franchise or force the owner to sell and move it. Perhaps they should go back to philly?
